Horrible customer service and absolute scam. My fiancé and I came here for the first time in June for our engagement because we wanted to make a memorable piece. The staff told us they would call or text when it was ready. They never called or texted. To be honest we ended up forgetting about it because we had other important things going on for our engagement that day. I ended up remembering about Painted Earth and thought it would be a fun Christmas gift for my family of 8. So I went in to buy a gift card or prepay for the experience while also asking if I could pickup the piece my fiancé and I made. I got the news they threw it out. As unfortunate as that was, I asked if I could at least get a refund for the piece, which the employee said she couldn't and that her manager would contact me within a week. So I got a call today from the manager stating that it was my responsibility to pickup and that they sent 3 texts. I checked my phone for texts and there was absolutely nothing sent to me. She said she could give me $10 but not a refund... I can tell the management here lacks intelligence. Get this, you just lost out on the sale of 8 pieces that would had been paid for with my family, and you lost 8 potential long term customers, all because you could not do what was right due to your faulty SMS system or lies that you texted. Maybe try picking up the phone and calling/leaving a VM next time too. But I'm sure you'll respond to this and lie that you did that too. I will ensure I let my family, friends, and people I meet know to avoid Painted Earth moving forward. read more

What a fun experience!! Painted Earth is a great spot for kids and for adults. Enjoy a cute environment with music while you paint your pottery of choice. Staff is so kind, and offer advice/help if you ask for guidance. Takes about a week for your pottery to be ready for pick up after painting. I painted a vase that ended up getting customer spotlight display, which was exciting! They offer unique paint events as well, and a variety of sculptures to choose from. Place is packed. There were six of us. Lots of selection of various sizes. Great for groups. Staff were too busy specially on a Saturday. So I didn't feel that there's enough staff to help out. We had a great time as a family at Painted Earth. We tried it on a weekend, and it was recommended to make reservations usually but we went early enough. It does get a little loud and it's definitely a bit warm in side, but it was comfortable. Prices for items range from $20+, which includes everything you need. Staff were friendly, and helpful. Our nephew gave us a gift card for Christmas because it's something I've always wanted to do, so as a family group (7 of us) we went on January 1st. We had a fantastic time! Lots of pottery to choose from. Plenty of paint colors. We let our imaginations run wild & the 2 hour window passed by quickly, too quickly, but we all finished our projects. We had so much fun that we made a reservation for my birthday at the end of January. The staff were wonderful & helpful. You know it's a great time if you make your next reservation before you leave!!! They have a back room for parties & allow food and drink. It's forever going to be one of my top 10 things to do from now on. Prices are VERY reasonable when you consider that the price on each piece includes the pottery, paints, supplies, firing in the kiln, business space & paying the staff and your two hour window at one of their tables. read more

This is such a great place to pass the time, get creative and enjoy with family and/or friends. You pay for the sculpture you'd want to paint, and then you'll get endless time and supplies to paint your sculpture thereafter. You have so much paint to choose from, and there's even non-paint supplies you can use to make it even more unique. The staff give you a quick tutorial, and you are then set lose to do whatever you want with your sculpture. Once you're done, they will fire it up for you so the ceramic sculpture looks more professional in their final touches. They said usually it will take them 8 days to give the final touches, and I cannot wait to see the final product. read more

We love to come here with our granddaughters. Today we were in the Temecula location. Haley, Hunter, and Taylor were awesome! They were friendly and helpful, assisting us with our projects. I also observed that when someone entered the store, one of them would not just greet them. Instead of waiting at the desk for them, one of the three would approach them with a friendly greeting and an offer to help. I came to painted earth with my son and grandson (who live out of state) to have clay impressions done as this is a family tradition. We were very clear on what we wanted and were told it would take anout 4 weeks to be completed. It took almost three months. We finally picked it up and it's all wrong. The glaze was sloppily done and despite being very clear about not wanting names on the front of the piece they are written in what looks like black sharpie. With the sheer amount of time they took you would think she could at least make it look nice. I am so unhappy and it can't be redone. We will never come here again. Ever. read more

We always enjoy our time here! We go once a year at Christmas time to spend family time together and all of us enjoy it. Our table is set up for us, we get 2 hours and the staff is kind. Soraya helped us out this year and was so helpful. The pieces are pretty pricey but I figure the evening is equivalent money wise to sitting in a movie theater and the time here is so much sweeter as it allows for conversation and creativity. I've been to Painted Earth twice, once before Covid, and once during Covid. I loved my experiences here. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's about making fun memories, and this is a once in a while activity, so it's a nice little splurge. The first time I came here, they had access to all the colors on the walls, and now during covid, you have to ask one of the lovely ladies for five different colors and the will bring you a palette and some bottles for the main colors for your piece. This was a wonderful and bittersweet visit, as my fiancé and I painted a bowl and plate as we are leaving for a new state and the plate and bowl are for our apartment that we get together. It was nice to paint outside and talk and enjoy being creative together. I want to visit again when I'm back down to see my family. I definitely recommend this place. read more

My 5 year old LOvEs art so this place is awesome for her creative juices! This location is in a quiet shopping center in Temecula, at least when we arrived early for the art class mid July. My daughter was signed up for the "LOL Surprise" art class. For some reason I wasn't able to sign up online. I had to visit the store to sign up and pay for the class. There were about 12 other young girls (about 3-5 years of age) in the class and one art teacher. We got to sit outside under a covered patio with tables and could see our daughter the whole time. There were also lots of windows in the art room, which allowed natural light for the aspiring artists! The class was about $30 for an hour and a half and it included a snack. We brought water and our own snack, though. The class was also scheduled before regular store hours so it limited the interruptions. The teacher appeared to have patience and good control of the art class. The students all had access to all the art supplies and were guided to complete the canvas painting. My daughter was excited to participate and wanted to sign up for more classes! read more

After sushi my hubby and I were walking by and all the cool stuff displayed in the window caught my eye. We went in and were surprised at all the unique and fun pieces they had to paint. Not just the typical plates and animal figurines of the past, but lots of cute collections. The garden gnomes (TONS of them) spoke to us, so on a whim we decided to stay and make a night of it. The studio is very well organized and we were able to read the posted instructions and quickly figure the process out. The employees came by often checking if we had questions or needed anything, and were friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great time. It was a fun, creative experience and something I havent done in years. Its not cheap, the 6" figurines were around $20 each plus a $6 each studio fee. I love this spot! I come here all the time to relieve some stress by listening to some music and painting my worries away. I have been here plenty of times and the staff are always super attentive and nice. It gets busy sometimes so it can be difficult to find the paintbrushes you are looking for, so my only suggestion would be to get duplicates of each brush so that more people have access to the tools they need. It is a more casual painting spot, so expect some children running around and families enjoying conversation. This can be a pro or a con depending on how you see it! I personally bring headphones and go into my own little world. Overall a great spot for a cute date, to relax by yourself, take your kids for a birthday, or spend time with family. read more

We've visited Painted Earth 6 or 7 times over the last few years. My kids love picking out a piece and creating their own masterpiece. They're doing a great job of running a smart business during these crazy times. Masks are required for indoor sessions but they also have outdoor tables (as they did before COVID). We were there almost 2 hours and chose to sit outside since the kids hate wearing their masks. It was over 100 degrees but the breeze and shade were ok. The staff was helpful with getting brushes, paints, water, etc for us to avoid customers touching everything. They were attentive and quick. We love Painted Earth! read more

We love, love, love Painted Earth. I've been bringing my kids since it first opened. This shop is so much fun to visit when you're looking for an activity to entertain yourself, friends or family. The store is clean, organized and inviting. You have so many options to choose from its hard to decide. There are usually samples for most of the items on display. This gives you a little idea of what you can do and how the colors and textures will turn out. Every time we have visited we are met with friendly, helpful staff. One of our favorite members is Alyssa H. She is so kind and always eager to help you out. All the PE staff members have always been so nice. It is one of my favorite things to do with my teenage daughter. Once you decide on your piece, the staff member will set you up with a table and go over the instructions about paint, brushes etc. After you have completed painting your item, you give it to one of the staff and they will get to work on making sure it comes out glossy and beautiful. In about a week you can return and pick it up. I've never been disappointed with my pieces. This past Saturday they had their sample sale so we stopped by to check it out. We had never been to this type of sale so, we weren't sure what to expect. When we arrived they have all their samples for sale. Those are the ceramics that have already been painted and completed, that were used to provide an idea or suggestion for the non painted items on display. There were so many cups, plates, bowls, to choose from. Some were so creatively done. We had a hard time choosing what to purchase. Things were priced at $3 and up. We opted for a cute jar that was for holding pens, pencils etc. I chose a pretty plate that was shaped like a leaf. I bought it to hold my keys on my entry table in my home. There were canvas's, paint brushes, aprons, books, t-shirts to name a few. I highly recommend following them on Instagram or Facebook to see their up coming events. There is always something fun going on. I want to visit when they have themed nights. I missed "The Office" themed evening but maybe they will have it again in the future. We've also been here for birthday parties where the kids can paint on canvas, the activity is led by one of the staff. I think you have your option depending which package you pick for your party. We can't wait to go back it's such a relaxing few hours spent not looking down at a phone screen but actually interacting, painting and talking to the one's you are with. We received a text message about our pottery being done and we promptly made arrangements to drive down as we don't live local. Checked the website and the yelp to confirm they are still open at 6 pm. Made our way to Temecula and when we got there the whole place was closed with no sign in the door, the sign that was there said they were open until 8 tonight. We called the store in case there were any staff who could give us an explanation or just even our pottery and got sent to the answering machine, which also indicated that they were open until 8 that night. Nowhere, the text we received, online, or even at the store gave any explanation or even slight word of them being closed. Closed two hours before they are suppose to and no worker in sight. Horrible experience and now having to figure out arrangements to pick it up a different day and just hope that they'll actually be open the next time. read more

Absolutely amazing!! What a great experience here! I would highly recommend this place to anyone! The staff is sooooo friendly and knowledgeable! They are truly there to assist and help you out in anyway they can. They are truly so kind! They have a lot of selections to choose from and I feel like that's the hardest decision haha. Because you just want more than one. It is very therapeutic and relaxing. You do have to pay a studio fee in addition to the ceramic you're choosing. The room is pretty spacious. Been coming here for 24 years about I was even the one who sold the owner fixtures for the place . I've been here a trillion times it's our favorite from my son and my daughter . But a few days ago we drove 3 hours to go paint we were there an hour before close and the girl turned us away ?!!!
