I spoke with Kelly, who was working at the counter. She was so friendly, welcoming, and sweet and we chatted for a bit. She explained that they also have classes for crafts like jewelry making & candle making. It's something I'm interested in exploring further. She let me know that Angie owned the shop and there were challenges when the pandemic hit. I'm so heartbroken that so many small businesses were adversely impacted. I love supporting small businesses. Like I told Kelly small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. They have a prayer request wall. I submitted a request along with the myriad of requests already hanging. So much prayer needed in these times. I thought that is so cool & gracious on the shop owner's part. What a blessing! You can tell that children find the shop magical! They were awestruck by many of the items on display. Hearing their squeals of delight brought joy to my ears & warmth to my heart. The service was amazing- they were so sweet and I asked about how long they have been there and she said 7 years, which I was amazed by- she said that they started as a workshop place and expanded their gift shop but they do still offer classes. We can't wait to go participate. Everything was adorable. It is a bit pricey, but I love supporting small local businesses, and can't wait to go back when I need special gifts or just something cute. Your phone line indicates that you are open until 7 PM from Tuesday to Saturday and until 5:30 PM on Sundays. Online it says till 5:30pm. However, when I called to confirm your hours prior to our visit, no one answered. I arrived at 4:32 PM on my daughter's birthday, the day she had been eagerly looking forward to painting. To our dismay, we were informed that we could not paint, even though there was still an hour before closing time. We had planned to make bracelets, have a hat made, and enjoy the painting experience together. I understand that circumstances can vary, but it was disheartening to be turned away in such a manner, especially on a special occasion. She could have offered to let her paint for only 30 mins or whatever would allow her to close on time. She just seemed like she didn't want us there because she was on a time crunch to leave. Mind you the business is completely empty so you would think you'd want to make money. I believe it would be beneficial to ensure that your hours are accurately reflected on your phone line and to allow customers to enjoy their time until closing. We really loved this place but are definitely turned off now.

I went there on a Wednesday to ask about using the wheel and purchasing 3 hours of independent clay…read morework for $40. The guy I spoke with also told me that I could buy clay there and that all I needed to do beforehand was call to make sure they weren't busy and that there was space for me. On Thursday, I called ahead to make sure they weren't busy and then drove there. When I arrived, I was told, "Oh, we don't sell clay anymore." Luckily, I had mentioned that I didn't have clay because they were about to charge me the $40 anyway. First of all, why do they not sell clay when their name is literally "Temecula Clay"?! More importantly, please educate your employees on whether or not you sell clay, because I used to buy clay there a few years ago. I drove there TWO TIMES and wasn't able to use the wheel or work with clay at all. Just sell me the clay? Especially when the closest place to buy it is an hour away. Very frustrating and a huge waste of time. Update: They completely rectified the situation! Thank you so much to the owner and employees who fixed the issue.

Temecula Clay is Amazing! I brought my son with special needs there. He has high functioning…read moreautism. He is 23 years-old. I am his mother and we both had a fun, informative, creative time! Summer, our instructor was kind, patient and extremely helpful. She would teach us step by step what to do with the clay and then go to each student in the class and help them individually. I know personally that my "coffee mug" would have looked terrible without her expert help. My son did everything on his own with a little help with Summer and made two pieces. (I only made my coffee mug) We will continue to go there again and again. When I got home, I enthusiastically told my husband that I had found a new hobby! Thank you Summer! Thank you Temecula Clay! We came back for another session and learned they really only offered the "paint and sip" style class, and open studio was extremely expensive. We searched for another studio and found this place. Upon walking in, I knew IMMEDIATELY that this was the place where I could learn and grow quick throwing on the wheel. The owner Robin runs a tile shop by day, and then hosts monthly members for the studio by night. Everyone there has been there multiple years, with a few members being over 10 years! This place is a true community with members bring food and drink often, and always willing to help, or offer advice when solicited. Robin herself is terrific. Though she doesn't call herself a potter, she can make almost anything on the wheel, and is a true pro. She's super flexible, and willing to help. The studio monthly membership age is 18+, and there are no "classes". It's monthly, no contract, pay as you go. In your membership, you get open studio time and a full kiln shelf worth of pottery (dimensions on her website), one bisque firing and one glaze firing (she also has 16ish glazes for studio members). Total, there are 10ish wheels at the studio, and bats are also provided. For those who haven't thrown before, Robin offers a 3 pack, 1 on 1 class (1 day throwing, one day trimming, one day glazing) for $100 called "try it, you'll like it". This is instruction you literally cannot get anywhere else for under $250 just for the throwing lesson 1 on 1. Raku firings are also offered every so often, with glazes provided specifically for raku as well. She also offers community kiln firing for those who only need glaze or bisque firing. Lastly, Robin carries a variety of clay types (black, bmix, bmix with specks, speckled buff, porcelain, red) that she offers members at discounted prices. We've now been here as members for around a year, and I figured it was time to write a review! If you are seriously interested in pottery, or are a serious potter, this is a place you don't want to pass up. Check her website and give her a call!

We made an appointment and our table was ready when we arrived…read more The place is clean and quiet with all the supplies we needed to create memories with our granddaughter. It was $60 for the two mugs we picked out. It took a couple hours to paint the mugs, leaving them to be fired that week. It took 8 days to fire and have them ready for pickup and we couldn't be happier with the result! This is a great place for families with kids at least 5. Lots of things that could break so a close eye on the littles is a must. Staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely be back.
