In a very short amount of time, Miss Jada worked wonders with my boys--they recently performed at an event and sang beautifully. Beyond the talent of the teachers, the environment is top-notch. Mr. Jack is amazing; he greets us personally every time we walk through the door and keeps everything super organized with great communication. From the admin team to the instructors, they made it possible for our family to thrive in music. Highly recommended!"

From the very first lesson, Paul created such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that my son felt comfortable right away. He's not just a talented drummer, but also a great teacher who knows how to break things down so kids can actually understand and enjoy learning. Paul mixes in songs that my son already likes along with the fundamentals, so practicing at home feels less like homework and more like something he actually wants to do. As a parent, it's been amazing to watch him sit down at the drum set with excitement instead of resistance. The progress we've seen has been incredible. His rhythm, timing, and coordination have improved so much, but what stands out to me the most is his confidence. My son used to hesitate when trying something new, but with Paul's encouragement, he's learned to just go for it and keep pushing himself. Paul has this great balance of being encouraging and patient while also holding his students accountable so they don't just mess around. It's exactly what kids need, someone who believes in them but also challenges them to do better each week. My son now practices on his own, shows off the new beats he learns, and even talks about wanting to play in a band someday, which is something he never would have imagined before starting lessons. The academy itself has been wonderful too. Everyone at the front desk is organized and helpful, scheduling is simple, and the whole place has a positive, family-friendly vibe. They also offer opportunities for students to perform, which I think is such a great way to give kids experience and confidence in front of an audience. Paul really prepares his students for these moments in a way that feels fun and not intimidating, so instead of being nervous, my son actually gets excited to play in front of people. Overall, I couldn't be happier with Mr. Paul and the experience we've had with the drum program. It's not just about learning music, it's about building confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for playing. My son is growing both as a musician and as a person because of these lessons. If you're considering drum lessons, I highly recommend Mr. Paul. He has made such a positive impact on my son, and we're so grateful to have found him through Murrieta Academy of Music.

I must also commend the teaching staff; their instructional abilities were outstanding, offering clear, insightful, and incredibly encouraging guidance that greatly enhanced the learning experience for all participants. However, I did note a couple of aspects that I believe could be refined to elevate the overall experience even further. There was a distinct feeling throughout the session that we were quite pressed for time to finalize our pieces. This accelerated pace, unfortunately, limited the opportunity for more detailed refinement or unhurried exploration, detracting slightly from the meditative and expressive potential of the medium. Additionally, while I understand the importance of maintaining a tidy workspace, the requirement for participants to handle the full cleanup immediately upon concluding our work contributed to this sense of being rushed, rather than allowing for a more gradual and relaxed end to the creative process.

Studio website: http://www.studio4ceramics.com/about-us.html…read more The GF and I took a "paint and sip" style class at another studio in town. We came back for another session and learned they really only offered the "paint and sip" style class, and open studio was extremely expensive. We searched for another studio and found this place. Upon walking in, I knew IMMEDIATELY that this was the place where I could learn and grow quick throwing on the wheel. The owner Robin runs a tile shop by day, and then hosts monthly members for the studio by night. Everyone there has been there multiple years, with a few members being over 10 years! This place is a true community with members bring food and drink often, and always willing to help, or offer advice when solicited. Robin herself is terrific. Though she doesn't call herself a potter, she can make almost anything on the wheel, and is a true pro. She's super flexible, and willing to help. The studio monthly membership age is 18+, and there are no "classes". It's monthly, no contract, pay as you go. In your membership, you get open studio time and a full kiln shelf worth of pottery (dimensions on her website), one bisque firing and one glaze firing (she also has 16ish glazes for studio members). Total, there are 10ish wheels at the studio, and bats are also provided. For those who haven't thrown before, Robin offers a 3 pack, 1 on 1 class (1 day throwing, one day trimming, one day glazing) for $100 called "try it, you'll like it". This is instruction you literally cannot get anywhere else for under $250 just for the throwing lesson 1 on 1. Raku firings are also offered every so often, with glazes provided specifically for raku as well. She also offers community kiln firing for those who only need glaze or bisque firing. Lastly, Robin carries a variety of clay types (black, bmix, bmix with specks, speckled buff, porcelain, red) that she offers members at discounted prices. We've now been here as members for around a year, and I figured it was time to write a review! If you are seriously interested in pottery, or are a serious potter, this is a place you don't want to pass up. Check her website and give her a call!
