I would like to update a review That I put up regarding AUMT THE PHLEBOTOMY SCHOOL. Since the review dated June 4th, 2024. I have to say Abby took the time to help rectify the situation. Although my son was suspended and had to pay $150.00, He was given credit for the 160 hours he did complete and just started a new location to complete the remaining hours which is 160 hours. After applying for aumt temecula i had the runaround of them placing me in 2 other city's when in my application + emails sent i included the name Temecula.. PLUS she (Maria Arguelles) even emailed me back to thank me for attending orientation that same day ? i had only just applied for registration. When i try to explain we had a misunderstanding she just said "contact Sam to assist about your concern, thank you"? / 12 days of class was amazing, it was the going over the material once and sending us home to do half the class work as homework, that wasn't amazing. Amazing school! My instructor, Mr. Tandayu was extremely helpful and straightforward, which helped me absorb the information much better. The smaller class sizes offer you a space to really learn and grow as a phlebotomist. The campus supervisor, Abby, was also extremely helpful. Any questions I had, she was able to provide detailed and thorough answers to leave no room for confusion. I was able to get into my externship pretty quickly, which I am very grateful for. If I could give this school double the stars, I would... First of all, the staff: Candy, the office manager, is amazing! She is always working hard to answer my questions and keep me informed. It's crazy right now, with the unfortunate situation that is going on with COVID, and I know she is continuing to work hard to find those externships for us, so that we can move forward with getting our license. I work in the Emergency Room and we don't even allow visitors to come back, because it's such a liability if they catch COVID, so I can imagine how difficult it must be to try to find a place that will take a student for a week. Ms. Andrea was a stellar Clinical Instructor! If you're lucky enough to get her, you will learn how to draw blood and process specimens at a CAP level, which is a high standard! You will learn the correct way and impress your future employers/Supervisors! The program (and my awesome teachers) prepared me to pass the NHA on the first try! The program is fantastic...I made some quality friends and was able to network and exchange numbers for job purposes. The school offers a payment program, but it was so inexpensive, I didn't need it! Where do I begin, This school is not worth your money, when you go to sign up they'll give you a whole lecture about how promising your career is and make it seem like they're setting you up for success. They sell you on a 12 day class, that in itself sounds promising BUT it takes 3 weeks (Monday-Thursday). The best instructor here is Michelle, other than that I felt inferior and put off by the other staff members demeanors. It's a hostile environment to say the least. I was promised to be placed in my externship 4-8 weeks after I took my NHA. And was told I'd receive a courtesy call a few weeks before my placement to go over the details of my externship location, they STILL have not placed me. I'm 8 weeks out from my NHA and they STILL have no where for me to go. This campus is extremely unprofessional, it's very clear that their goal is not to train better health care professionals for the community but rather, immediately get you to sit down in a chair and suck up all of your money. I have so many regrets about attending this school. It's a joke. The class was only 12 days which worked perfect for me and my busy schedule. I was scared and nervous about the class but there was plenty of handouts to study from. Also, Ms. Andrea guided us through the whole way. I was always looking forward to being in class. Ms. Andrea made sure we knew the material by constantly testing us and it was always a good time in class. The only thing that could be improved on is that there were errors in the book that we had to correct and some handouts had some incorrect words/spelling/grammar. Nonetheless, Ms. Andrea helped us correct those so that we could study the right material. Overall, I enjoyed the class. I came in with questions about the externship and Leanette (who is at the front desk) is very very nice and easy to talk to. She answered all of my questions to the best of her ability and it was just pleasant time talking to her. read more

U never told that ya when we sign . Long story short I missed my test w one question. For me to take the test again I have to pay. I'm single mother with budget income I can't pay anytime she want me to.so I just get a letter saying I have been drop of the program with out warning . Really lady . Ooookkk keep that attitude . aumt was the most affordable and easier program i could of ever done for phlebotomy, im glad i didn't go through msjc. i finished tge class in two weeks then took my national exam which was a breeze, jennifer was very helpful and always provided us the right resources to learn what we didn't understand. after my internship i was hired at inland valley medical center and then i moved on to mission hospital in orange county, after i got married i decided to come back and now i work at rancho springs! once you have a phlebotomy job, the search for a new job is easy. there will always be a need. i recommend aumt !! and even after i let my certificate expire it was easy to go back and take the exam again [my choice] and now im on my way to texas to continue my work journey. it also made me realize i want to pursue a career further to become a cls. read more

The only reason this is getting one star is for the teacher Andrea . This place is full of lies. From the minute I signed up I was promised an externship close to home that would work with my schedule. I was promised to be placed within a few weeks of completion. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I had to call for months in order to get a response over placement and when they finally offered me an externship (8 months later) it was a two hour drive from my home. Definitely not what was promised. I was offered the same externship twice as if I was going to say yes after I paid two grand to a school who promised me something completely different. After 4 more months they offered me to come get my blood draws done at the school on the students. This doesn't offer me any lab experience or real career phlebotomy experience this is just them justifying the lies they tell their prospective students. It's not been a year and a half and they've stopped returning my phone calls. I can't believe that I've fallen victim to such a shady school. It would be nice to get my money back considering I couldn't do anything with my "education" no certificate of completion or anything. This place is a joke. Save your money and spend the extra 300 on a reputable school that will place you in an actual hospital or clinic for externship. Since they won't let me respond on here for people to view I'll go ahead and update my review. These dates aren't true at all. I was not contacted until I had to reach out myself. I'm aware of what your system says but that doesn't make it true. I didn't show up to my exam the first time do to a severe case of strep throat & upon Michelle's (on of your employees) recommendation that I reschedule. No one ever agreed to retraining me the person I spoke to said I could just get my blood draws done because "it's like riding a bike I'll remember as soon as I do it." I'm not sure about you but I wouldn't let someone Who doesn't remember any of their training stick me in the arm with a needle. I feel like that request is negligent on behalf of your program. You are stating your contract says 50 miles. That's cool and everything but that's not what I was told by Michelle when I started the course perhaps you should inform your employees to not make promises you can't keep as program. Also, let's remember I live in south temecula. Having to arrive at an externship in riverside 41 miles away by 8am would have in fact taken me two hours. Or do you not ever have to drive anywhere that far to be aware of peak traffic patterns and times? I understand that your trying to paint yourself into a better light for your yelp reviewers and prospective student but how about you just own up to the fault of the program you are running. That's nice that you place thousands of students every year however, I didn't get placed. I didn't get the help that I needed to be successful after I paid you two grand to attend this program. Just because others were placed doesn't take away from the fact that I, a paying student, didnt get placed. I'm more upset that you are blatantly lying than the fact that I can't use the education I paid for. read more

Can't say enough great things about this school, I entered the program and was extremely surprised with the professional and very educated staff/instructors. I enjoyed going to class and was given the confidence I needed to start this profession. At first everything is so perfect. It's like a honeymoon phase. They start off by being nice, they're helpful but as soon as you're done with your externship they completely forget about you. I was told if we needed assistance finding something they would be more than happy to help out in anyway... I finished last year in March and got certified in may... I have called several times, left voicemails, emailed their office ladies to see if there is anything they can do but they simply just ignore you. It was a waste of money and time. If I knew they would be this cold in the end I would've preferred paying more for another school that actually helped. read more

She explained everything phlebotomy had to offer & shared her own experiences. Graduated earlier this year and they don't know how to handle externships during covid. It's been about 5 months since passing the exam and still no word back in regards of externships but yet they are still accepting students which makes no sense since current students are being put on hold for stuff. They don't return calls and they don't reply to emails either. Reached out many times and still no word back. Suggest going somewhere else where they know how to accommodate everyone. AUMT hasn't mentioned anything about refunds or extensions of any sort. read more

If i could give 0 stars I would. This school is an absolute nightmare. I had to take phlebotomy as a requirement for my job. After contacting the school initially I was told by Candy that if I could get a contract between the school and my employeer which is a hospital, they would cover my tuition up to the deposit which is 2,250 of a 2,500 dollar program. This sounded awesome and due to my other coworkers attending this school I had found out they too recieved this offer but were unsuccessful in their attempts. I had high hopes for this school but that quicky changed. First, they pushed my start date back by 2 weeks due to not having an instructor. Not a huge deal but there ended up only being 2 other people in my class and theres was never anyone in the office except one time other than the instructor. Mr.Young was a great instructor but the women who run the school can't get it together. I couldnt get ahold of anyone at the school ever. I had to call day after day and maybe a week later I would get an email or call back if I was lucky. Not only did I spend 4 months getting a contract for them with my employeer but the school went back on their word and said they could only reimburse me 500 dollars which still has not been sent. The initial agreement was made before I even started the course. Abby who I spoke with states that the school doesn't do that even though I was told by another lady in the office as well as my coworkers being told the exact same thing. This school is shady by all means and cannot place you in an externship. I managed to expedite mine which still took up to 5 months. This school is absolutely horrible and I would not recommend anyone to go here. I made sure to inform my employer about everything I experienced during my time here and I will be very surprised if they accept any student from this institution. It is absolutely disgraceful that they would rip someone off who spent 4 months going back an forth to get something in place that could help other students. Very disappointed. read more

I absolutely loved my instructor Mrs. Andrea! Not only did she teach us all the essentials needed in the phlebotomy world, but I learned many life lessons from her wise stories & also has some of the best laughs! My classmates also became a group of my best friends. The front desk staff are very friendly & were always there to greet every student that entered in the building. The actual course itself is 2 weeks, but I felt I learned everything in a quick but very efficient manner. The pricing was also fairly decent for the area & education given. The only negative I have from this experience is the waiting time between all of the exams, certificates, & licenses needed to become a CPT. The business itself offers a phlebotomy course that is 2 weeks long, however, I feel that this should be advertised in a different manner to display the actual timing needed to become a Phlebotomist. To give those interested in taking the course an idea of the time frame needed: I began the course January 24th & did not receive my official license to work as a phlebotomist until July 22nd. After finishing the course, my classmates & I were eligible to take the NHA exam a month later on March 4th, which was determined the earliest possible date. After passing the exam, there is another individual waiting period for placements at a clinical location, that the students were told would be "6-8 weeks"; I was placed at a clinic located about 20 miles from me 14 weeks later. A few of my classmates placements actually took longer due to complications & last minute cancellations by the clinics themselves (which I believe is to be out of the company's control). A few other classmates did not receive word from AUMT of their clinical dates until they themselves called numerous times to ask for their placement schedule. AUMT offers externships to be completed at the actual location of the school in order to avoid a waiting period for a schedule clinical site as long as the student brings in family/ friends willing to be drawn & tested. I HIGHLY recommend those wanting to enroll in this course to complete their externship at the school to speed up the entire process. I also wish the program itself would encourage students to complete their externships on site in order to relieve the front office stress as well as limit the student waiting periods. After a week long clinical, it takes another 2 weeks to receive a certificate of completion, which then is turned into the official Department of Public Health. After applying for my license with all the needed paperwork, it takes another week for the license to be processed & officially approved. During this period of waiting for my official license, the office managers & front desk associates at AUMT described the process to obtain a license very thoroughly & informed me that I could start applying to hiring clinics & hospitals, however, most applications required an official license number that I did not have yet. In total, I loved my experience at AUMT & all those who helped me branch into the medical field. I'm officially hired at West Pacific Labs in Orange County & I could not be more grateful! read more

This school is literally the biggest joke I've ever seen, all they want is your money and they don't care about anything else. Furthermore, they promise upfront that you'll be able to get employment in phlebotomy after you complete your externship despite being inexperienced, that is not the case. I got nationally certified in June of 2019, completed externship in July and got certified in the state of California at the end of September and I STILL haven't been able to find a job despite applying for numerous jobs in my area. I haven't even gotten as far as an interview. In the middle of January 2020, I contacted AUMT multiple times in order to see if they have some type of resources to help me get a job and they haven't gotten back with me. Maybe they don't help with job placement and that's okay, too. All they need to do is call me back and say "hey we can't help you" and that'll be fine. It'd be better than ghosting me and pretending I don't exist, which is what they're doing now. I definitely feel like once you're done with your externship they want nothing to do with you. I definitely don't recommend this school at all. I think it's great if you want to be a phlebotomist but don't go through AUMT. Go through a school that actually cares about the students attending their classes and wants them to be successful because you're just another paycheck at AUMT. read more
