    Painted ceramic

Fun spot for a nice date right by downtown vista. Can feel a bit pricey for what it is, but the paint/brushes/clean up is included. I've been here a couple times and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Make sure you paint each color 3 times for it to pop or it may look a little translucent! It takes a full week before you can pick up the finished product

I visited Clay 'N Latte with two of my friends on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. There were so many options to choose from. It seems pretty pricey, but I think it's worth it, especially if you consider all the paints, tools, and the general pleasant experience. The staff are super sweet, helpful, and friendly. If I remember correctly, we were told that our stuff would be ready by next Friday. They hold finished pieces for a max of 60 days, which I think is ample time. I would not hesitate to come back here.

lots of pieces to choose from, decently priced, no time limit, endless colors, and a relaxing ambiance. i love this clay n latte so much. the staff are always so friendly and helpful, making the experience a blissful one. i have chosen to come here on my birthday for several years, it is the best relaxing and also satisfying activity! great for kids 3+ as well - you pay a studio fee + pottery fee and they host fun classes / themed nights occasionally as well!

There are parking lots both behind and in front of the studio. Pro tip: There is a 5 USD flat fee for the use of the studio. This is half price if you go on Wednesdays. You can take as long as you want in the studio. So if you like, you can spend a full day in here. This includes all paints that you can choose and also paint brushes that you can pick from those that they have on your table. If you want to paint really fine details- bring your own fine tipped brushes. Also, there are no drinks available here, so bring your own drinks. We were told initially that they had planned to have coffee here. But the starbucks down the road shut that down. They start by asking you to pick your own ceramics from the shelves around the studio. There are price tags under each ceramic. We picked a dog, a gnome, and a giraffe to paint. There are also cups, bowls, and plates that you can choose to paint. There are a variety of ceramics. After painting, they do advise you to add your initials to the bottom of the ceramic, and they will fire it up ok the kiln for you. You get to pick it up a week later. We had great fun! And we will be back. I have my eye on the dragon Cup.

good vibes, affordable, no time limit. came here on a saturday afternoon and were able to start on our pieces right away. there were a ton of glazes and supplies to work with and the staff were very kind and helpful. super cute date or hangout spot, would recommend!

Busy for a Saturday night. It was a little warm in there at times too. I was looking forward to having some coffee or tea when I was there but my friend said that they do not serve it, actually. She said it so because Starbucks is down the way which is a bummer. It's a fun and different way to spend some time playing and being creative. I can't wait to pick up my planter I painted!

I absolutely love this place as a 30 year-old! I see that kids and teens have a blast, too! My wife and I came here at 4PM on a Saturday, and it was packed inside and outside. We took our time picking the pieces we wanted to paint, so when we finally chose, people had left and cleared some tables for us. You can come paint alone, with someone, or even have a birthday party here! It does get very loud inside when it is busy or there is a birthday, so I recommend bringing headphones or earplugs...seriously. You can use as many different colors as you want, and take as long as you want painting. When you are done, you bring it to the counter, pay, leave the item(s) with them, and come back in one week to pick up the final product! They have to fire-glaze it so it gets brighter in color and hardens into a beautiful, glossy looking item. The final comment I want to mention is the pricing (which I feel is fair). When you want to buy a custom decorated mug online, for example, you pay for the mug, the crafting of it, and then the shipping. One mug like that from online costs the same as 2 of these, AND you didn't get to make it yourself and have these memories. I feel the price is worth the memories you make here, and making something exactly how YOU want it. The employees are super nice, the place is clean and organized, and they do have a bathroom in back, but no drinks or food (even though the name hints at lattes).

I'm a wannabe crafter. Like the heart of an artiste with the skillz of a 5 year old. This is my happy place! I swear after my first time here I told my friend I'd work there just to be allowed to paint tchotchkes for free. Super cute pottery to choose from, loads of colors to use and a super helpful and sweet staff 10/10.

My art piece before it was glazed and kilned.

I love this little place. As soon as you enter you are amazed by the multitude of ceramic possibilities! From cups to plant holders you can choose your art piece to paint. The friendly staff sets you up at a table where you have everything you need to paint your ceramic selection. The interior is warm and inviting. It was like a peaceful place to get creative. When you are done they jot down your information and you pay for your ceramics. Then you get a date (usually about a week) when you can come back to pick up your art piece. So, this place would not be the best for out of town guests. They glaze and kiln your pieces to bright and shiny works of art. My niece and I had so much fun! We both would highly recommend this place.

Cute little spot for a gay date. There are no lattes but they have a good selection of paints and pottery.

Ask the Community - Clay 'N Latte

Can I bring my own unpainted pottery to paint or do I have to purchase from their selection of pieces?

You have to buy from them

    Do they serve coffee?

They do not. The original location did, it is now gone. The current location in Vista does not, and cannot because Starbucks has some monopoly on coffee in the area. No joke

    What is the price range?

Depends on what you choose. Starts at $10 and goes up with size

How much for two people for painting the pottery?

Individual sitting fee is $5 to cover materials (paint, brushes, etc). However, there are half price discounts throughout the week (call for details). After those fees, the cost comes down to what you want to do and how much you want to spend. For… Read more

Review - I planned this for my birthday and I had such a fun time. Davina really walks you through the steps in an easy to understand way and shows you how to do each step on her own canvas. It was totally fun and doable for my friends who are not generally crafting people! The studio has great decorations and ambiance, Davina gave us glasses, glow in the dark hair clip, and a hat to take home with us. The final painting is so pretty and glows in the dark. Super recommend, especially for kids, families, friends. COVID - we didn't wear masks but you could wear masks. Davina shared she is vaxxed and boosted.
