The worst Home Goods store ever! I used to shop at this place a lot. Not anymore. The store management is full of sh.t at this location. They gladly sell you everything, but are not too happy to accept returns, especially if your return is over 30 days. They always find a reason not to accept past due return. That is fine with me. TREATS as FAR as the eye can see! Menifee's HomeGoods has loads of chips, baked treats, coffee and pasta. My Mom and I bought several snacks for a movie night at the park and they had everything we needed. I highly recommend The Popcorn Factory's white cheddar popcorn. Value was decent, we bought some specialty cookies for $3.50. We took a quick glance at the pots and pans and I saw a couple I will potentially buy on the next visit. Nothing was a must-buy, but the selection was good. I really liked the cashiers, they were super professional and understanding. We brought in a bag from the Kohl's nextdoor and one of the cashier girls said we were more than welcome to come in. I do really love this store and go in often but today I left without buying. There were too many work carts of merchandise parked on the floor and you could not get past them to shop. It is a tiny story and it was packed with shoppers because it was a holiday. I wish they would stock and merchandise when the store is closed or at least less busy! I bought a large mirror that was cracked under the cardboard when I got home. I called the store and spoke with Assistant Manager James, who confirmed they had one identical mirror left, but refused to hold it for me, claiming it was "against policy due to fraud." When I pointed out the mirror shouldn't have been on the floor damaged, he replied, "Well, things happen and that's just the way it goes." I asked if he could hold it so my daughter could get the same mirror, and he still refused. He also refused to provide the district manager's contact, claiming there was "no one I could talk to," which was false. I called another HomeGoods store, and their manager said she'd never heard of that policy and would have made an exception. I also called HomeGoods customer service, who confirmed there's no such fraud policy. I then called JJames back, giving him one last chance--telling him about my calls with customer service and the other store manager--but he remained rude, dismissive, and still refused to help. This was completely unacceptable customer service. I was polite, trying to exchange a broken product, and he made it unnecessarily difficult. I've left a complaint with HomeGoods corporate and am waiting for a call back from the district manager. I will never step foot in this HomeGoods store again. Update: The store manager reached out personally, apologized, and admitted the assistant manager handled things completely wrong. He put the mirror on hold for me until tomorrow, which I appreciate. This store is insufferable and the employees are unfriendly, everything is nonsensically jammed up and down every aisle, nook and cranny which makes it so hard to maneuver a cart around especially with so much glassware in all the high traffic areas. It's such an anxiety ridden place and the experience is definitely not an enjoyable one for me. Love this store , however their gift card policy is not the best, let me explain.. I was in Menifee store and purchased a gif-card for my friend, whom I was shopping with. I gave her the gift card to use towards her purchase. Although it was showing cashier it was active it would not reduce her balance by amount on gift card hence declining it!! Manager had to assist cashier, turns out their policy is you must wait 24 hours before you can use it?? They debited my checking immediately for gift card, so not sure why there is this waiting period!! This is not a very good practice, I feel they need to make some changes! Yes it's Home Goods, so what gives? I love Home Goods, I can spend hours here... Today's unplanned and random visit was a pleasant one. Aisles were so tidy, the food section had jars, chocolate boxes, and everything else in that section all lined up. I almost didn't want to touch anything so others too can enjoy the aesthetic and clean lineup. Kudos to whoever was working the floor 27MAY2023. Nice well stocked HG store, conveniently located in Menifee (yay!). It's one of the better ones I've been too, the one I frequented in El Segundo catered to a large area of affluent people both west LA (LAX) to Manhattan Beach/southbay & it was nice, but always a mad house, mess within minutes of opening, you had to keep coming to see if new stock came in & jump on it or you were out of luck. None of that here! People are much more mellow, we'll stocked (but jump on it or it's gone too) and cashiers don't hound you to open an account (yikes!). I always get my pet items here, the best quality for a lot less than the bigger pet chains and you can physically go to buy versus online shopping and return because it didn't meet your expectations. But the first time I came here, I was in dire need of almost all home items having moved into the area and it worked out for us. Love coming here but my hubby and wallet beg to differ. read more

I've always had a good experience at shopping at HomeGoods until today until my cashier judged my purchases and used foul language then made comments about my appearances. There was no reason for the customer service I had. I approached politely to the older woman and said hello then gave her my items. I stood there listening to her criticism while waiting to make my purchase because she made me feel very uncomfortable. read more

We need to talk. You gotta hear this story. I LOVE Home Goods. But... if you need help? Do not ask a guy named Larry. Can't help but think of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David, as I write this... Only I am Larry David and Larry at Home Goods is just Larry. LOL Now, not saying this Home Goods has nothing but bad employees, oh no! There are some good ones. If you need help with anything... Go talk to Home Goods employees Sam or Nona. But, at all costs... just steer clear of "Larry" the supposed "manager." 5 stars for Nona and Sam. One star for Larry... the "30 years in retail" guy who told me he was "a manager" but didn't act like a manager. Larry literally refused to put the correct price sticker on a rug I wanted to purchase. Larry had NO issue trying to rip me off! Larry called himself a manager... yes, he called himself that... while refusing to correct a "wrong" price tag on a bathroom rug. It was marked $15 more than all the other rugs of the same exact size, style and brand! It was the last cream colored rug in that size and style. I bought one in grey too. Same rug just different colors. See my photos below. Larry couldn't do anything to help. But, he sure enjoyed bragging that "HE was the manager. HE knew what he was doing because HE worked 30 years in retail..." as if THAT statement, true or not, somehow entitled him to rip me off. Yes, Larry seemed very proud of his long retail experience... and how he had "power" to intentionally screw over customers like me. Why couldn't Larry SEE the wrong price tag on the cream rug? (LOOK at photos. ALL the other same, exact rugs had $24.99 Home Good stickers with same exact item and department number. Cream rug had a non Home Goods tag, a wrong price and wrong item number.) Dear sweet Larry, it's clearly evident the rug had a wrong price tag on it! Can't you see, Larry? The rug had a wrong department and wrong item number too! It wasn't even a Home Goods tag and it was over priced by $15 compared to other rugs of the same, exact size, style and brand! Yes, Larry. There was a WRONG $39.99 tag on a $24.99 rug! Gasp! Yes Larry, the other rugs- same size, same style and same brand- were all marked $24.99. Now, common sense would dictate this price was a mistake, right? But, common sense be damned... LARRY refused common sense and refused to help me. He refused to sell me the rug at the CORRECT lower price. "Nope," he boldly told me, "I am NOT putting a new price tag on it. I won't lower the price! Price is right! Price marked is price you pay!" he barked, as he scurried away, disappearing through a back door of the store. This is something, huh? Larry, the supposed store manager, not only declared himself the NEW king of higher prices at Home Goods... he also told me a very creative story about how "Different colors of the same exact rug dictate a higher price, because the cream color was better and popular." HUH? There was no talking to this guy. He just made up any story he could think of to get out of helping me. Larry just didn't like me and couldn't be bothered. Now... let's compare manager Larry to two other great Home Goods employees named Nona and Sam. Five stars for Nona and Sam... two smart and actually helpful Home Goods employees that instead of doing nothing but blathering on about their years spent working in retail, like Larry did... Nona and Sam turned my really bad experience with Larry into a good shopping day at Home Goods. Nona and Sam saw immediately that the price tag on the cream rug was wrong. They measures both rugs and saw they were identical. They looked at the manufacture tags, and saw they were also identical. Nona recognized the store mistake... that the cream rug was mismarked and over priced by $15. "No worries," said Nona confidently. "Let me take care of this for you. You want to buy the rug, right?" Nona politely asked. "Sam, let's get the correct price tag on this rug and then take it up front for this customer." Thank you Nona! OMGosh! Yes! Oh yes! Finally! Someone listened! The cream rug was personally taken to the front of the store, with the new correct price sticker, where it was handed to me in a fresh Home Goods bag, after I paid the correct price for it! You know... it really sucks when you're a good paying customer, who regularly drops a few hundred bucks at Home Goods... and you've got some crazy employee who wants to put you down by forcing a bizarre "money" power play on you... to force you to pay MORE for an item than what it actually sells for at Home Goods. It stinks to be discriminated against like this, and talked down to by a careless store employee, who for no good reason at all... save laziness, and maybe the fact that I am a woman... and maybe... just maybe because I asked for his help right before his break time or dared to call out a price error at Home Goods? read more

This business is NOT requiring customers to wear a face mask DURING A PANDEMIC! As a VERY HIGH risk health person... contact with the wrong person could turn into a definite death sentence for me and I imagine many others to boot. Heaven forbid smoke around these self absorbed fools. Unfortunate for both home goods and myself as this is by far my favorite place to shop for everything I don't need, yet manage to spend hundreds of dollars every time I shop. For several months I've waited to go get some more stuff I don't need, however with thoughtless customers and a chicken poop company that won't ask the consumer to wear a simple mask... I'm stuck holding onto my money that has accumulated for another store full of things I don't need. On this issue alone... the one star is a gift from Yelp. Well... here we are nearly two weeks later and the state of California has issued mandatory masks! It behooves me why home goods along with other shopping stores never insisted on this wearing of masks in the first place! After all... 2 stars for the selection. 1 star for the price. Negative 5 stars for the rude, unhelpful, sneaky, Managers. The store has great finds and decent prices for a lot of items. However a lot of items are way over priced and unfairly priced. For instance: There are lamps all over the place made of crystal for $39.99. Then there are some without price tags. Once you take the item to the register the overly confident, uppity Manager eyeballs it and gives the price of $59.99. I don't think that's very fair, some $12 per hour employee decided what I was going to pay? So get this, I go back the next day and ask another Manager about the price of the lamp. He says $100. This place has the most unprofessional Managers. How can they just throw out random prices for items? This explains more of why they are involved in the lawsuit for over charging customers and lying about the before/compare to price. I really hope Home Goods revamps their policy's and procedures otherwise they'll be closing like Toys R Us read more

Wow I cannot believe in this time with current events that are going on I was so discriminated against here! I arrived 40 minutes before the store closes and was told I could not go in because they were at capacity and I needed to come back tomorrow even though there was still 40 minutes until they closed. I was told max people allowed in was 90 people and there were over 100 people in there, the 2 employees who told me this were EXTREMELY rude and had a horrible attitude. Then not more than a few minutes later as I was in my car I watched them tell 3 woman they couldn't go in, then changed their mind and allowed them all in! Amazing store, I was able to find a lot of last minute finds for my dorm room. However, with my luck I was paired with the rudest cashier ever (Grace) she was so snappy and unfriendly. My cart was full and I didn't want to overwhelm her with a bunch of items at once and she kept signaling with obvious impatience to hurry up and hand her the items. First of all I just want to give a big shout out to this stores finest employee "Eric" he hasn't even been employed for 2 months yet but is an amazing employee with a beautiful personality and professional attitude. My husband and I made this our last stop after a long day of shopping for our daughters wedding decorations. We were exhausted but pleasantly surprised to walk into an impeccably clean and well organized store. Not over crowded yet we were able to find everything that we needed plus more.
