Don't buy any fishing rod or reels from Turner's Outdoorsman in Temecula. They seem to be selling defective rod and reels. They don't honor their warranties and when they do honor a warranty, be prepared for a bait and switch once you get to the register. I recently purchased a Shimano Speedmaster 20 fishing reel. The Shimano Speedmaster 20 reel started going in reverse just after the first use. I took it back to Turners and they said that there is nothing they could do because I used the reel. Of course I plan to use a fishing reel if I buy a fishing reel. What I am not expecting is for the fishing reel to fail after the first use. I explained this to the rep at Turner's and he said ok, they will honor the warranty. He said that they did not have the Speedmaster 20 reel in stock though, but would allow me to exchange to the Speedmaster 25 for $40 more. Sounds like a good deal, right? Ok, he tells me to head over to the cash register for the exchange. I get to the cash register and waiting in line. Finally they get to me and now the price is $180 for the exchange. The rep gives me some kind of excuse that he messed up in the pricing when he quoted me $40 more. My next experience with Turner's Outdoorsman in Temecula was when purchasing my first Blue Fin tuna rod. The sales rep Eric at the time, said he has a good deal for me and spoke about the amazing lifetime warranty offered by their Californian 60-130lb fishing rail rod. I examined the rod and the soft foam grip at the lower part of the rod. The soft foam grip seemed like a concern to me. He assured me that the Californian fishing rods are backed by their amazing lifetime warranty, and just bring it in for exchange if there is an issue. Eric convinced me to proceed with the purchase. One fishing trip later and I notice that the lower foam grip is splitting and breaking apart. The butt cap or protective end piece is also splitting. I took the fishing rod back to Turner's and Mason says he needs to call the dealer for those rods. Mason comes back and says, "good news, the dealer will honor the warranty and let you exchange the fishing rod". Mason locates me a Californian 60-130lb rod and says to head over the cash register for the exchange. I walk to the cash register and wait in line. My turn comes and Mason says, "Oh sorry, by exchange I mean that we have to charge you now half price for the fishing rod. The cost is $130". Just another bait and switch experience from Turner's Outdoorsman in Temecula. Not sure if they practice this, but Mason sure does have the bait and switch tactic down. Delay with key information on what an exchange means. Tells me to go to the register to complete the exchange and then pressures me at the cash register with the $130 up charge. Tells me that a lifetime warranty only covers the rod blank. However, pre-sale they will certainly assure you that you're in good hands with their amazing lifetime warranty on their Californian fishing rods. In this case I walked out of the store with my defective Californian fishing rod. When I google online about the Californian fishing rods, others also report that their lower grip soft foam is splitting. Some seem to have luck with Turner's replacing the defective fishing rod, others seem to report that Turner's wants to up charge them for the exchange. YMMV. I don't know if the same thing happens at other Turner's Outdoorsman locations, but just sharing my experience with Turner's Outdoorsman in Temecula, when buying a fishing rod and fishing reel from them. I've purchased fishing rods and fishing reels from other sources and never encountered an issue like this. Don't buy your fishing rods or reels from Turner's Outdoorsman. Don't listen or trust the pre-sale speak and quality claims from Eric or Mason. read more

Came in to get a quote to sell a gun. Older lady in the front explained the process and called the guy over to price it. He nodded but ignored her and I waited. And then waited some more. When he was done doing whatever he was doing he walked past us and helped another customer with I'm assuming a gun he had purchased. She walked towards the back to call him again. He walks over like I'm annoying him by being there and looks over my gun real quick and low balls the absolute piss out of me. I'm 26 year active army dude on leave right now and just wanted to clear up some space in my safe. Have bought and sold so many guns and have yet to be lowballed this bad. H&K p2000, 900 dollar pistol two years old with maybe 100rnds through the gun and dude said $200.00 lol. Would never come out here again. Place is a joke read more

I have visted many Turners and this was the worst visit. I have been to the locations in San Bernardino, Pasadena and Ontario and never have I received bad service until I visited the location in Temecula/Murrieta. The store selection is good and the value is comparable. It's a good place for variety but some of the staff are jerks and don't like to answer questions. So I won't be back as there are other gun stores in the area that fmgice better service. read more

I showed up at 2:35 to buy a fishing rod and two fishing reels and to have the line put on both of the reels. The manager told another couple and Myself that the fishing expert would be there at 2:45 to help us, and that he was on lunch break. At 3 o'clock, the other couple left because the guy wasn't back yet. I asked the manager when he would be there, and he said he said 3 o'clock. I waited till 315, and he never showed up. When I asked the manager if he could find out when the guy would be there, he literally turned around and walked in the back door and slammed the door in my face. I turned around and walked out the door. Heading over to sportsman warehouse where I got great service yesterday. I will never go to the store again. Bad form. read more

I approached the gun counter and Justin the Assistant Manager (of all people) looks at me and says, "Yeah?... what?!" It feels like half the people there hate their lives or their station in life. So they take it out on the customer. Their interview questions must be "Are you cranky? Great! You're hired!" All I'm saying is, if you can't create a positive shopping experience for EVERYONE, then you probably shouldn't be in sales. I went in to take my FSC exam, they turned me away since I came in an hour and a half before closing time. I decided to leave and come back tomorrow however I went on to sportsman warehouse and they helped me out right away. The staff in turners outdoors man were lazy to assist. read more

I contacted Turners Corp. about their Website advertisement issue. They sell guns on consignment. They in the past have listed available guns that customers are putting on consignment. I used to love researching what was available. You could click on the add and view a photo of what was for sale. If there was not a photo, the addd would say no photo available-so you didnt have to waste your time looking . they no longer have that option for a viewer. they told me they wer going to fix/ address this problem but after a year they have not. I will not list a consigned gun with them ever until they fix this. Why keep wasting my time looking at their consignment page. i do not recommend Turners to sell your consigned guns. read more

I come to this Turners for my fishing gear and I 101% recommend that you talk to Eric at the fishing supplies if you guys get to visit. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and no nonsense type of guy. He's will walk you through your questions that would best fit your needs and to match your budget without trying to upsell UNLESS it's necessary for what you are looking for. I had a great experience with Turner's Outdoorsman on an online purchase. I live in the midwest and only recently heard about them. Found an outstanding deal on a handgun I was looking for. I called their number to confirm what I was seeing was valid and to my pleasant surprise someone answered right away. Carol was very helpful and very nice. She answered all my questions and accommodated my request to ship to my FFL which was not in their system. I received the shipment in a few days. Terrible experience visiting Turners Temecula as a former employee to follow a step by step warranty process on my scope (originally purchased here) -scope manufacturer states to bring it in store to begin processing and the gun sales manager himself and another employee turned me away very rudely after making the customer wait 20+ minutes at the gun counter. The manager stated that "the boss" said they will not take the optic and I asked; "what happens when I am proven to be correct and I have to make another visit here in store at a later date and time, to heck with the customers time?" -the manager and mustache employee behind the gun counter both shrugged their shoulders with no professionalism or any sort of confidence whatsoever. I wasn't sure how to navigate the process after I let so much time pass, so I wandered into the shop today hoping for some guidance. There were four people in total who helped me and I was blown away by their customer service. They did not need to help me out at all since it was my mistake that brought me in there but they couldn't have been more patient with me. Everyone wanted to help me solve the problem. Honestly for the reviews it has I was super skeptical on coming here and buying some things other gun stores don't have or even for just deals others may also not have. They are all pretty friendly at least for the guys i've spoken to. I had also bought a faulty bipod for my rifle and they easily exchanged it for a different one for me. The gun counter is pretty packed most of the time and usually you have to grab a ticket to look at firearms, but from my experience i was just checking out firearms and a worker came to me and asked if i wanted to look at anything and we even chatted for a good bit. This isn't my main gun store but i'll def come back especially if they have some good deals. read more

The front of the store contradicts what you're told by the gun counter when making a purchase or putting something on layaway. There is no standardization between the two. We went in to buy my wife a new pistol, put it on layaway and kept getting calls saying it was gonna be put on the shelf to be resold. We came in to transfer from her account to my account as I had the proper paperwork. When I called to come in to start setting up the background check, they told me that it was sold out from under us. When I spoke with the store, they said it would take at least a month if not longer to get a replacement. Then when I told him I wanted a refund, they said it would be over a week because corporate needed to cut me a check because the store was not able to put the money back on my card. If given a choice, I will support a local gun store as opposed to corporate. read more

I wasn't there for a gun purchase, but actually my 3rd set of fishing gear. Jaden was amazing. So willing to share his knowledge. I'd hire that young man in a heartbeat. However I did have a return to make, of an unopened reel. What a horrible experience. The elderly lady at the register was rude and dismissive. Waiting in line 10 minutes, is NOT a problem. During that wait she had to make a request for a manager, at the back of the store. I waited another 5 minutes, no worries. When I got to the front of the line, with my receipt and unopened reel, she said nothing, except: This will require a manager, NEXT! She didn't request a manager, she simply pushed my box aside like I wasn't even there. I waited for 3 customers to clear and expected she would get that manager. She didn't. She just turned around and started organizing boxes. So I went on the hunt to try and find a manager. I found one, in the rear, but he was busy taking inventory. He didn't say anything other than he was too busy. After 2 minutes at that desk a young man asked if he could help. I explained and he then sent me over to the fishing desk, where I found a nice young man, Eric, who took back up to the old lady, who without a word reluctantly allowed Eric to process my return. He handed her the slip, and without a word, or even eye contact she held her hand out to hand me the slip. I felt like a second rate citizen. Granted they have a great lineup of great fishing equipment, and the fact I've spent thousands there, I will never return. It was a miserable experience. I'm betting regional management would want to have a deeper look into this. I'll take my fishing shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

Terrible Experience at this Turner's coming from a lifelong customer at other Turner's locations. Brought my lady here 11/24/25 so that she could take her test for her FSC. Walked in the door around 6:20pm to all firearms associates busy with customers so we used their self check in kiosk. No biggie, didn't mind the wait but we were never greeted or even acknowledged by anyone in the store. No "we'll be with you in a few minutes" no contact period. So we again patiently wait. After about 35 minutes of waiting patiently while they helped everyone ahead of us, they finally call her name it's 6:58pm by this time. The young oriental lady asks if we're there to renew a FSC. I explained that we were not and that we were there for her to actually take her FSC test. She was very considerate and apologized that due to closing they couldn't help us. The sales manager(didn't catch his name) was standing at the corner of the counter puffed up and was a total f-n prick about it and says "Oh ya we don't do FSC tests with a minute left before close, you'll just have to go to the front". Completely embarrassed by his demeanor, we left didn't purchase a damn thing and based off our experience don't plan on ever returning here. If you're looking for a better buying experience, check out The Shootist off of Washington Ave a few miles down the road. Staff has much better social skills and attitude towards customers and prices are just as competitive. read more

And helpful people. The Temecula store for some reason has some of the worst employees I've ever dealt with! Especially Greg who claims to be the manager. definitely don't be in a hurry if you need them to help you ! They move at a snails ​ pace . If you can even get somebody to help you . Especially the fishing department there's often nobody even working . I'm not a person that writes reviews this is the second time in my 60 years of life that I've ever wrote a review. The service at the gun counter is horrendous. Slow, apathetic. I'm Sitting here now and they're helping two people that came in yesterday that didn't have the documents they were supposed, and didn't require them to have a number. WHY HAVE THE TICKET-PULL SYSTEM IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY IT? Im just trying to pick up a gun. I wonder if they're going to sell to the guy wearing the Weed leaf shirt? Should be interesting. Value is good but the service just sucks every time. One of the workers was on the phone with a buddy and by the sounds of it the caller didn't pass his background check and got a DOJ letter. Counter guy assured him there are ways they can help him. An interesting visit to say the least. Update: took over an hour to get to me and then the guy tried to speed read right past my number. Me? 20 minutes plus ammo. They need a better system. One for people picking up and one for the window shoppers. read more

Customer service is terrible. Waiting times are terrible. 2 employees to help 1 guy. Makes no sense. Employees at the gun counter need training on customer service. They had 4 people waiting on the counter and one guy was just walking around moving stuff and calling other turners stores. I definitely won't be back here. The manager even tried to charge me a transfer fee when there is no transfer fees when ordering direct through DD. Probably something a MANAGER should know if ya ask me. Became a New Pistol owner in Feb 24' Came here to take the FSC test and passed on 1st try. The older silver hair lady in front was kinda rude, like she didn't want to be there. The guys behind the counter in the back of store Were also Rude (seemed like a theme for this store). They were extremely friendly and helpful to Repeat customer's. Hi Fives and hand shakes all around but to 1st timers like me they didnt care to help or answer questions. Guess im not in their circle of friends yet. But now in June 24' i went to the Corona Store and What a Huge Difference. No Circle of friends. All the staff members were polite and attentive to everybody. My dads a vet and was trying to get a gun under his name and showed his VA ID that he was given by the VA to get his benefits. He basically told my dad he was ILLEGAL and asked if my dad was born here! Are you kidding me?! This is how you treat veterans who served for PEOPLE like you!?! So disrespectful and we will NEVER be here again and we will never recommend or bring family or friends here again. Very useful store. Can pretty much serve all your outdoor needs. Knives, guns, supplies for camping/hunting, outdoor survival. Staff is well educated on the brands and products. Temecula location is great. Right off Jefferson near Winchester/15 fwy. Parking isn't an issue most of the time. Pricing is competitive and they generally have what I want/need in stock. read more

Second time going in to this store, and second time getting Ahmet to help me. Fantastic employee and he isn't just working a job, he's doing what he likes to do and it's evident. The other guy behind the desk, skipped the numbers to help a Spanish speaking customer and another customer asked why he was skipped, and the guy said well, he's the only Spanish speaker so therefore their purchase came before the guy who was next in line. Store employee's need training on COE. If it wasn't for Vincent the manager understanding how to run a COE check on their computer, the employees would have denied my purchase. Ahmet the sales person was respectful and willing to learn about the DOJ COE. Some of the other employees behind the counter tried to tell me that I couldn't even purchase ammo with COE which is completely untrue. The only way to look at this experience is an opportunity to learn and train their employees. Employees Vincent and Ahmet get 5 stars. The other employees behind the counter need extensive training on their system and what the DOJ COE is and to not make false claims. The wait time is also horrendous. read more

Love Turners. I got my husband an M1A rifle here for his birthday and when I went, they were out of stock. However, Tania there found one and told me about it right away which made my day because I knew I would have to wait a while and my husband's birthday wouldn't have been the same ( it was a surprise). My husband bought me a Beretta 92 FS Inox Brigadier for my birthday and I totally love it. They have me on the list for another Brigadier but nickel-plated just made for me. I am beyond pleased and happy. Not to mention the nice 1911 Colt 45 ACP, beautiful beautiful pistol. The staff here too are nice and knowledgeable. My place to shop. read more

I just purchased a gun from this turners location. I was hesitant to go because of some of the negative reviews. I had a great experience from choosing the gun I wanted to picking it up after the 10 day waiting period. If you are coming in to pick up your gun or ammo, make sure to grab a number and be patient. They will call you by number. I found that they took great care with each customer. You are not more important than the next guy or gal. They greatly exceeded my expectations. They are very knowledgeable of all the weaponry they sale. One last note; don't be surprised or upset if they ask you the leave your back pack with them, if you come in with one. Not a good place to give business to. Gave me an "out the door" price, ordered the pistol i wanted, i came back once it arrived to pay and they added 70 dollars to the "out the door" price. Manager claimed that it was common knowledge and everyone knows that you have to add lots of money to the "out the door" price. Poor customer service. Went down the street to "The Shootist" (highly recommend) and bought the gun i wanted, way better experience. Gonna be giving them my business instead. Steer clear of Turners. I would not recommend any firearm buyers, especially first timers to do business with this place. I bought a firearm in fall of 2022 at this location since the handgun I wanted wasn't in stock anywhere else at the time. I was ok with the busy wait times and slightly higher price tags. What I wasn't okay with were all the extra fees that they add on such as the safety demonstration and forcing you to buy a lock even though the firearm box has one. The person doing the safety demonstration didn't even use the correct caliber snap caps. This same person also didn't even give me the lock that they made me buy. Even though it was only a few dollars I decided to bite my tongue and never return. I was happy to finally have the gun that I wanted. Fast forward to almost a year later, I get a voicemail from an employee at the store telling me I did not fill out the safe handling paperwork and had to come back to fill it out since the DOJ took notice. Now I recall signing the paperwork for the safe handling form since they literally charged me for the demonstration. I go to the store a few days later since I live 45 minutes away. I take time out of my day to help them fix their mistake almost a year later and I just get a thank you and bye. I hate to sound entitled but they did not offer me anything for taking up my time. It was their responsibility to make sure they had the paperwork work done correctly the first time. I've never had this issue with any other FFLs I've been to. In summary, excuse my language, frick Turners. TLDR: They charge you extra nonsense fees and lost my some paperwork, called me a year later to fill out the form. Waste of time, go to Sportsman's Warehouse instead. read more
