They were a solid pair from a road bicycle that appear to have a sealed bearing, which is quality for certain. He also gave me some tips for a long bike tour that I was about to undertake. He was very honest and candid with me and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need, even though I asked him specifically what he would recommend to me. He mentioned the shop is largely for the community and is a charity of sorts. When I was there they had an open bike repair center - where you are free to use the tools they have to fix your bicycle. There were a number of children there taking advantage of this free service offered. A great place to stop by if you are on a tour and could use some parts/components cheap, need to use the tools or gain some insight from the workers there.

(yet I have four pairs that are the same size and fit).. go figure- Returned them and started browsing in store.. I initially went in to buy a friend's e-bike they were so helpful to handle for them. We ended up buying 2 e-bikes plus a great rack. Marty (owner) and team are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and all about customer service. Marty was extremely educational and provided valuable technical advice that I highly appreciated as an engineer and explained in plain English. He and his team went above and beyond on the several times we went there. I plan to make it our go-to shop and highly recommend it to others.

They also give bikes to children through local agencies and businesses. I've purchased a few bikes from them in the past and been quite happy. The staff are friendly. Their is a noticeable difference in knowledge between the trainers and the trainees. What I noticed this trip was that a lot of the bikes seemed overpriced. For instance, there was a used bike for $120 that I could buy new at Walmart for $140 (plus tax). I don't know what changed but it didn't feel like a good deal to buy a bike there any longer. Perhaps the Bike Swap is a good option.

We recently purchased Orbea Rise e-assist bikes for my wife and myself at College Cyclery in Reno,…read moreNevada. My wife loves hers but I had problems with mine almost from the beginning. The assist was sporadic and I had clicking sounds that seemed to come from the motor area. Randy had the bike in his shop several times and each time the problems went away for awhile but returned. The bike was in the shop 4 times and I was never charged. Most recently I went in and was ready to pay to replace the motor (approximately $1,000) but Randy said he'd look it over again. He found that the wiring to the motor was frayed and was contributing to the clicking noise that kept coming back. He charged me $50 for the part but wouldn't accept anything for his labor. The bike is perfect now and I was able to ride it on a challenging trail where dirt bikes usually go. Talk about great customer service!!!
