Left here hungry tonight. Food was just ok. Huge disappointment for an international high end Italian chain. Mozzarella Caprese was 2/5 thinly sliced ok tomato's with mozzarella. Chicken Milanese was 4/5 mainly for the crunch/texture and my wife's first eggplant parmigiana was pre prepared the day before or several hours earlier but they graciously prepared a fresh one and did not charge us for it.. Penne Arrabiatta to be polite was 2/5 - very mediocre I would characterize it as $1.00 pasta with $3.00 jarred sauce. Based on the inconsistency of our meal we passed on dessert as I didn't want to eat a dessert that could have been purchased from the frozen dessert section at your local grocery store. For their prices I demand excellence and quite frankly I would put this meal on par with a mediocre local establishment. (Even though I don't eat it and Carabba's or Italian Garden or whatever it's called I would say they are probably better). Mozzarella Caprese $16!!! More than happy to pay this at a quality restaurant for high quality ingredients. Penne arrabiatta $18 (chef Boyardee is better) Chicken Milanese was $26 with lower end minimal tomatoes. Traditional, tony bordering on pretentious Italian, but in a good way. Lots of competition, especially in this category, along the 5th and 3rd Naples trails, and these guys hold up fairly well. The Sea Bass on Cedar Plank was interesting. The rest of the menu was typical high-end Italian - nothing creative but all well executed. I'll be back. read more

Good in theory, poor in practice. Bice sounded great and menu looked decent, so my family had a late Christmas dinner at Bice. We moved our reservation back to about 8pm, so packed with diners when we arrived. Nice venue, with several dining rooms and outdoor seating (nice but can get cold even with heat lamps), part of a national chain of a dozen or so locations. Appetizer of procuitto with burratta cheese was ok, nothing special. Same with calamari. Carpaccio was not, drowning in sauce. Gnocchi was ok at best. The rating primarily comes from the slow service -- even with Christmas night load and perhaps some staffing issues, we were left for unacceptable lengths of time. read more

A painfully average italian restaurant disguising itself as upscale with the use of tacky decor, overdressed staff, and overly-long menu names. Beware if you look at all young! As with a lot of Naples' establishments, this restaurant doesn't take too kindly to you if you look under the age of 35. I could forgive the ambiance and piss-poor service if the food was good, however, it was as stated above: painfully average. In my eyes, an Italian restaurant isn't worth going back to if they can't get a simple chicken parmesan correct. I was served a gigantic, circular chicken breast with burnt cheese on top that made it look like a pizza straight from Chuck E. Cheese. On the side, for FIVE extra dollars, you can get a very modest portion of spaghetti. I can safely say this was not only the worst spaghetti I've ever had in a restaurant, but the worst spaghetti I've ever had, period. Christmas Eve dinner here did not disappoint! The place was packed and as a bonus, I ran into a best friend from high school that I haven't seen in over 40 years! Of all the gin joints! I would downgrade the stars as with a reservation it still took over a half hour to get seated and even longer to even get a slice of bread but the food was so outstanding it made up for it! Excellent French Martini's followed by a Caesar salad that was so good I was practically licking the plate. The sea bass was hands down the best piece of fish I have ever eaten. The sauce was perfect and I was sad when it was all gone. My husband had the seafood pasta and loved it. This was our second time here and we will be back!! read more

Friday night, Memorial Day weekend. Great service, great food. Try Aperol Spritz for a girls drink and a Negroni (Italian Manhattan) for a guy. Spaghetti are made in house and delicious. Was visiting Naples and stumbled upon 5th ave for a mini happy hour pub crawl. The plan was to sample drinks and apps while my wife shopped. I lucked out and ended up going to BiCE on their 15th anniversary and everything was 50% off. What a find! On top of the great deal, the food we got was delicious, which was tuna Tartare and the prosciutto burrata appetizers. Also got some Sauvignon blanc wine which was tasty. read more

I took a drive to 5th Ave in Naples and stopped for a relaxing lunch..seated outside on the patio..a beautiful sunny day! I ordered "lite".. grilled salmon with grilled vegetables...I passed on the included gnocchi and requested some extra vegetables. Server Ricardo, a charming young man delivered a beautiful platter..lightly seasoned and perfectly grilled salmon served with yellow and green zucchini and grilled eggplant. Nice job by the chef! Came in for a quick burger and a beer and was pleasantly surprised. The Counter has a great atmosphere and a great bartender! Ordered the Old School and it was one of the best burgers I had in a long time. Cooked perfectly and everything looked fresh. The had Octoberfest on tap which made the experience even better. Lovely restaurant and we had heard the food was extraordinary so we were looking forward to our meal. We had attended a party in the afternoon so we made our reservation for 6:00 on Sept. 28th. The party ended earlier than expected so we arrived at the restaurant at 5:40. The man who was at the desk was downright rude and told us we were early so we could wait in the bar or outside. When the season begins we would never expect to be seated early but there were empty tables inside and he had no reason for being so dismissive. The BEST Italian restaurant in Naples or maybe in the USA. My wife and I had veal dishes, mine GF. The staff are imported Italians, all very professional. Bice is one of my favorite restaurants in Naples. The service is always excellent and the food is amazing. My table had the caprese, the lamb meatballs, the affatati, and the caesar salad to start. The meatballs are FANTASTIC; there are so many good flavors there. The caprese comes with really good balsamic and really fresh tomatoes and cheese. The affatati is like a charcuterie plate and was fabulous. For entrees, we had the arrabiata pasta, the bolognese, the chicken milanese, and the branzino. Both pastas were fantastic. I normally get pasta here, but I branched out and had the milanese and it was a little dry, but still very good. The service is amazing. The manager came to talk to us and was so friendly and efficient. Everyone was making an effort to make sure we were having a good time. Even though my chicken was not as good as the other plates at my table, I'm giving them 5 stars for stellar service and the fact that we go every year and it's a great experience every time. read more

We have passed Bice many times and the outdoor seating always looks lively and with 4.5 stars on Open Table we decided to give it a try. This was absolutely the worst experience and food we have had in Naples. We were seated outside which seemed nice, but our table was so close to the one next to us we felt like we were dining with them. My husbands gin and tonic, ordered with cucumber, came with lime and my glass of white wine was beyond warm. The bread was like glue in the middle and the dipping sauce was oily, butter and garlic -yuck. But we soldiered on and had the "crispy" calamari, but it was not even close to crispy it was damp, soggy and cold. It was supposed to be served with zucchini and summer squash but the pieces were all brown, indistinguishable mush. My husband had the bolognese and I had the pasta with peas and prosciutto, which I was able to order with penne rather than the meat stuffed tortellini on the menu. The bolognese tasted like jar sauce with ground beef, no spice, no flavor. The penne dish was actually the best thing we had, but still somewhat bland and loaded with cream. We ordered a glass of wine when they cleared the appetizer but we were basically trying to eat our entrees slowly since the wine had not arrived, and did not arrive until we were finished eating. The woman at the next table (who was really sitting next to me) commented that this food was "traditional Italian" but I have to disagree, this is "tourist" Italian and not even a good attempt at that. The staff was attentive but most of them were wearing their mask with nose exposed, and yes I get how hard it is to wear the mask all night, but management needs to correct this. We thought this place would benefit from a visit with Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible - the canopy over the tables is covered in mold/mildew, the stucco walls desperately need to be power washed and the floor was filthy. So the staff gets 4 stars otherwise this was just awful. read more

Ordered the Chicken Piccata and it was horrible. DO NOT order this dish. The other 3 in my party thought their food was good. The waiter was over the top and really interrupted our meal at times. The check came and it was supposed to be 50% of the food ( we were there before 5) but it was not discounted. Had to go back and ask for it to be adjusted. We ate dinner here last night and everything was far beyond my expectations. The charming host worked so hard to get us a table even though it was crowded because of the holiday. Everyone took great care of my grandparents and made it a fantastic evening. The food was amazing and there was something for everyone. My tuna was cooked to perfection and the salmon was outstanding. Anna Marie our waitress went above and beyond recommending wine and pairings for our meal. We agree with several of the negative reviews of this restaurant. The tables were very close together and the staff wore their masks below their noses. To be positive the bread and caesar salad were excellent and they plated the salad in half when sharing. With the excellent wine we should have left at that point. Two diners ordered the Signature Linguine Seafood. The two dishes served were totally different. One had no salmon and the other had no shrimp. The multiple pieces of calamari were tough and tasteless. There was no spice in the sauce and it had no taste requiring salt and pepper. The waiter ignored us until he noted that two diners stopped eating and left half of their dinner on the plate. After explaining about the unusual plating of the two dishes he spoke with management and they removed the cost of one dinner. No apology by management or asking if another dish or desert would help improve the poor cuisine. After this discussion the half eaten plates were left on our table and never cleared even after paying our bill. It appears from the reviews that this restaurant can offer excellent dining but it is hit and miss. We will not return. There are many alternate Italian restaurants in the Naples area. read more

We ate Bice on a Sunday evening, a 5:30PM reservation. This fifties style, Italian oriented restaurant serves classy authentic Italian meat, seafood and pasta dishes. All the food is served professionally and piping hot where it should be My wife and I had two appetizers, a drink, two wonderful pasta dishes and dessert. When our bill came it was just $54 plus tip. To our surprise any food order before 5:45Pm are 50% off. The food would be a great value at the full price, it was that good. Try Bice Restaurant you won't be disappointed. Alright this is a tough review for me - the good was really good and the bad was really bad! 3 stars for: the place and the food, 2 stars lost for the really poor service. Let's focus on the place/food first. The place is really nice, 2 outdoor seating areas with one covered on the side and and the other open in front both right on the corner of beautiful 5th Ave in Naples. Now for the food: we started with a compliment of a trio of tomato, olive tapenade & flavored butter with olive oil served with crusty Italian bread. It was great and unexpected, only critical point is that it shouldn't have been served in a bowl with 2 chips in the side? Then we had the gnocchi with a gorgonzola cheese sauce and its was delicious and perfectly prepared. Now unfortunately the bad the service: we were seated by the hostess and then no one came to our table for over 15 min even though the server saw us sitting there each time he passed us which was at least 3 times, ok so he finally comes over no apology, no explanation and worst of all an attitude! You don't expect that in a place like this, fine dinning should also include fine service? We will try this restaurant again but never with that server again. read more

Food and ambience was excellent and I would have given it 5 stars except for the attitude of the wait staff which seemed condescending.
