Beyond Bread was really good! We went on a Saturday, so I decided to go with the Saturday special: Ernie's Everything Reuben. This was one of the best reubens I've ever had! I'm not usually a pretzel roll/bread guy, but the everything pretzel bread really made this an awesome sandwich. It was pretty big and came with a side of chips, and was only $11.50. I also got a loaf of the rosemary bread to go, and loved having it to make sandwiches at home with. We were grabbing it before driving out of Tucson, and it was a really quick stop which we appreciated. If you're passing through Tucson, I'd definitely recommend you check one of these out. read more

Ordered two sandwiches to go and they were amazing! My boyfriend got Maddy's Madness with chicken, bacon, provolone, avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise on toasted Multigrain with baked chips. He really enjoyed it! $9.25 I got Enzo's Ending with pepperoni, ham, provolone, pepperoncini, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Italian dressing on Parisienne with house salad. The salad was AMAZING and its a great portion. My sandwich was equally amazing and I can see why this place is such a hot spot in Tucson. I haven't had Beyond Bread in such a long time! Ordered one of my favorites: Brad's Beef with Angus roast beef, roasted green chilies, thin slices of red onion, cheese smothered in White Russian sauce on white bread. All of it tasted just how I had it the first time, next time, next time and the countless times I go there. It came with their kettle chips. Can't go without a dessert: lemon bar. Tartness to leave a cute sour face! ;) I was tempted to get the magic bar but leveled with myself to retain from more sweets. Although, one of my fave desserts is the creme brûlée. Will never go here again. Chunks of dirt came out of the soda machine into my cup. I showed the woman working and she gave me a new cup. She did not apologize nor did she offer me a refund on anything, including my drink. She told me should would get the manager to come talk to us. When I sat back down, the manager went over to the soda machine and clicked a few drinks and then disappeared. In the meantime, people continued to use the soda machine that had just put dirt into my cup. At no point did anybody shut this machine down or check it. The manager never came. I had to go up and ask for a refund on my drink because it never occurred to the person working there that maybe I was grossed out by mud in my drink. I called and emailed and both replies were unsatisfactory. Excuses were plenty and the story I was told was a lie in terms of how it was handled. I've been working in this part of town for two years now, and I had to check it out when Beyond Bread moved into the old Block Buster building. I'm glad I did. I've stopped by a few times for lunch, and tried something different each time. Beyond Bread really goes beyond your typical sandwich offerings. The menu is broken into several categories, which at first can be a little overwhelming. I like to think of their menu in three easy sections: hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and soups. I've had quite a few things from their menu, but I'll mention my single most standout entry from each category. Sandwich Brad's Beef is a delicious blend of roast beef, provolone, and green chiles, under a Russian style dressing. I cannot say enough amazing things about this masterpiece of a sandwich. It comes on white, but I think it fairs a little better on wheat. You gotta try this one out. Salad Larry, Moe & Curry is very tasty. Think curry flavored chicken salad, with toasted almonds, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and mixed greens. It's so good I don't even use the vinaigrette dressing that comes on the side. It is very filling, and comes with a side of garlic crostini. Soup Chicken Tortilla is very good. It is thick, creamy, and hearty. Everything you would expect from this sort of thing. Within the soup is a mixture of chicken, corn, onions, carrots, pablano peppers, garlic, and delicious corn tortillas. It goes so well with their bread bowls too! It turns it into a rich chicken and dumplings hybrid. They also have a bakery, at which any of their customers can purchase some of the best and freshest made breads in town. Just checking out the variety of bread loaves they offer will make you want to try something. If you don't get ideas looking through their bakery section, then you don't feel very comfortable in the kitchen. Beyond Bread also offers free bread slices for you to munch on while waiting on your food. Not only is the food good, but this place is huge! They have a large indoor area, with giant windows which let in lots of natural light. They also have a covered outdoor seating area off to the east side of the main dinning area, and free wi fi throughout the premise. Beyond Bread is so much more than a typical sandwich shop. While this location is my favorite, it is definitely worth checking out any of their other locations. read more

Where's the chocolate. I ordered a chocolate babka which I have done for the last several Chanukah/Christmas holidays. They have been delicious until today. Hardly any chocolate; what a shame. Fortunately, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with heaters and fans outside depending on the weather. Beyond Bread sells sandwiches, soups, salads, and baked goods. This is a great spot in Tucson. I'm glad they've expanded to three locations and hope they open more. The service is always quick, and they're very efficient. I've never waited long for my food, even when it's been very busy. Bart's Bag is my go-to. The turkey is so fresh. I usually order a half sandwich and switch out the bread, because the baguette it comes on is super tough and chewy. I feel a little like a wild, carnivorous animal trying to eat it. I'll either get the chips or upgrade to a small soup for $1. The tomato-basil soup is good, so is the gazpacho. I don't care much for the chicken tortilla. If you're here on a Saturday and don't order Ernie's Everything Reuben, you are missing out. The pretzel bread is phenomenal. I wish you could order a half size of all of their sandwiches; that option is only available for some. They also have some great-looking desserts. Ordered food to go and asked if they could bring it to the car that was parked out front in curbside parking ( had kids in the car) Tipped 20%. There was no one in restaurant and they were close to closing. The girl blankly stared at me and said nothing. I asked again and she said " you want us to bring it to your car???" with an annoyed, snotty irritated face on. I asked if that was too much to ask? She again blankly starred at me. I asked for a manager as I couldn't understand the rudeness. Manager Kassidy came already with an attitude and said I must have misunderstood the girl, that she was just trying to figure out what I was asking , she also gave dirty look. She continued to argue and raise her voice and I was done so I asked for her name and she provided it and I asked the other girl her name and she stared blankly again. Kassidy then curtly said she didn't need to tell me her name ( just needed the names for my yelp review). She then had the nerve to ask me to leave, as I was still waiting for my food.
