I tried this Beyond Bread a few times when I flew out of Tucson. The food overall wasn't bad, but it's not as good as other places such as Panera or Wildflower. The sandwiches I had overall had some decent flavor as did the focaccia bread they sell. But of course you'd have to go to a real Beyond Bread to get the entire menu or try it. Since this is a smaller location because its part of an airport. The service the few times I went was fine too as they seemed nice and didn't have any major issues. The only reasons I am giving this a 3 out of 5 is because again its a smaller location so it doesn't have every item as a regular one would. And also, they can be a bit pricy but that is expected. And once again the food was fine but it could use more flavor or add extra toppings to make it stick out from its competitors. read more

OK bread is their thing. You can also get pastries, varied lunch specials and soft drinks, coffee or tea. I've really enjoyed the lunches I've had there. There's usually some kind of ready made flatbread or sandwich. There are other items that can be made to order. Their breads a great. I like their Raisin bread .. they make on Thurdays, although I was lucky to get loaf just before Thanksgiving. They do a lot of different sour dough breads. And always can get a baguette. It does get a little crowded. You have to stand on line to order, and they will bring your lunch to you .. no big deal. But it's the same line as those just wishing to purchase bread and/or pastries to take home. But they seem to have their act together, because the line moves pretty quickly. So this review is solely based on the King's Cake, it is absolutely positively a zero! Dry dry dry layers with extra sugary laced with what seems disgusting fake cinnamon and extra large dyed granulated sugar that is just disgusting to eat. To top all this horrid mess, let's add a Hefty $29 price tag on it. Beyond Bread should be ashamed of selling this crap they are calling Kings cake. Ordered a sandwich with "prosciutto" this morning but the quality was equivalent to Oscar Meyer cold cuts. The employee at the counter seems to dislike working in the service industry. She would occasionally turn back and complain about the line of customers to the employee in the kitchen. I had a flight at 6:20am and was at the counter about an hour prior to my flight take off. I was not in danger of missing my flight bit it did take more than 15 minutes to met my order. BTW, it was card only. I ate my egg & bacon sandwich on the plane; the bread pretty hard and not from toasting. The two women there were working hard to get orders out, maybe if their management had had a third person working it would have cut down on the wait and chaos for everyone. read more

Ordered Brad's Beef as it's labeled as a favorite--bread was nicely toasted, beef was warm and tasty, cheese nicely melted. As you might expect from airport food, I'm not sure the value is there for the price, but no complaints about the taste or presentation. It makes me so sad to write this review because beyond bread is typically so good. Well apparently the airport location does things differently. Often staffing at airport businesses is done by a third party so that may be why. I got their avocado toast which I thought would be hard to mess up. But the avocado on the bread was clearly processed and squeezed from a bottle. It was about $6 more than something of such poor quality should be. The bread didn't taste fresh either. There were almost no flavors present in the toast. I like the other BB locations a lot, but I'd say avoid this one. I don't think the airport location should even be called by the Beyond Bread name, it's an insult to the brand. read more

Yes!! I was so happy to see that Beyond Bread located in my terminal, especially since I was famished. This local gem is delicious. The staff was quick and efficient. Everything you need in a hurry especially when making a dash for your flight. My BLT was excellent the lettuce was crisp & fresh bacon cooked to perfection just the right amount of mayo and the bread toasted just right. In a pre-dawn beverage run, I got the chance to go "Beyond Bread", well just barely. This, my friends, is an illustrious review of...their coffee. Two days in a row here, two passing grades. I'll take it. My standards aren't all that stringent; just looking for something that doesn't taste as burnt as all that Seattle chain seems to crank out. Score one for the Mild. It was indeed mild, very mild (but not too mild, mind you, let's not get crazy). As I wasn't man enough to try the Bold on this fair winter's morn, the Mild did the trick: smoky with hits of cinnamon and berry, and overtones of oak and chocolate. Now that I've exhausted all my drink adjectives, I'll admit that perhaps those flavors are there, but the main thing to remember? It is mild. Second win, hidden feature, there isn't really a line. Compared to what I guess is breakfast from heaven next door, I was in-and-out between the time it took Delta to go from "those who need a little extra help getting down the jetway" and "Sky". Now that's fast. Next door the line of lemmings was still lined up at the breakfast cliff. Ha! If I'm in town again I'll make a beeline here, maybe even having some Bread before going Beyond. read more

For what it's worth this was probably the best airport food I've ever had in my life. Usually airport food is either not that tasty or way over priced and luckily Beyond Bread handled it above and beyond. I got their egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast sandwich on their warm freshly baked bread and you can taste the difference! The crunch of the bread was really nice and went well with the savory and salty bacon and the creamy cheese. I got it with a side of potatoes that cook fresh as well! Yay! Such a welcome addition to Tucson's little airport! Denizens will recognize Beyond Bread as a local deli and bakery. This airport location has a truncated menu but the selection covers the essentials - breakfast, salads, cold and hot sandwiches, soup, and pastries. I had a hot sandwich - the Charlie's chicken, as well as a cinnamon bun. Both were served warm and fresh. I highly recommend Charlie's chicken but you can't go wrong with anything off the menu. Just be careful that you aren't boarding soon when ordering a hot sandwich as it will require extra time to prepare (about 7-10 minutes with no one in line). My sandwich was chicken, red onions, Cheddar, tomato, and BBQ sauce on a warm toasted torta. Perfection! The sandwich, pastry, and a coffee cost me $15 so prices are reasonable. read more

I hate the 2 stars but this Terminal B location needs some help. Sandwich was sub par for Beyond Bread. I ordered the Caprese and the bread was not fresh, and two slices of tomato and mozzarella for the whole sandwich? It was basically a bread and balsamic sandwich. What was nuts was the number of people I saw working vs. how long it took to make a cold sandwich. 15 minutes with 6 people in the back. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I had no idea they had a shop at the airport! But I saw it in the way in and was determined to get lunch there on my way out. I was so happy to be able to get my all time favorite sandwich to go. I frequented the original location 2005-2009 and it was soooo good. When my sandwich was ready, the clerk handed me my bag and said here you go! Luckily, I checked my order. He did NOT include my pastry. I regretted tipping him because he did not check the order. It's a simple thing to do and there was only one other person waiting for their order. Of course only teenagers want to work at an airport but I just wish they weren't so absent minded. For airport food, it wasn't too bad. I got avocado toast with a little side salad. The avocado was definitely wholly guacamole style with that sheen, almost glossy look from being packaged and it wasn't too flavorful, but with the little tomato topping and seeded bread, it worked. Super slow service and long line. Customers were all having trouble with the credit card reader. It was sitting on a block but not secured to table, so everytime a new person would use it, it would fall over when they swiped. Screw the darn thing down to the table and stop making it a hassle for your customers. Food came out slow, but it was good and fresh tasting. What a stunning fall from grace over the last few years. I've been going here since they opened and the food has taken a real dive. Ordered a corn beef Rueben and. To say the sandwich was vendor quality would be an insult to vending machines. Pretzel bread was crumbly,almost no sour kraut and the meat was what you'd expect from the packaged deli section of a krogers. Used to be able to get real kettle chips,now garbage oil that cooks the chips like cardboard. All for $15 dollars. Truly sad. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more
