I have been by Back Dough dozens of times, and honestly we usually make fun of the name. I finally had an opportunity to stop in and i'm not making fun of it anymore. You order your pies and take them to go. There is no seating. The girl working the counter was fantastic. She was friendly and helped answer my questions. They have a selection of pies, from fruit and cream to pot pies. They are all decently sized "mini" pies for $7.99. Plus if you return 10 pie tins you get a free pie. I ordered the Kahlua cream cheese and a strawberry margarita. In true fashion of wanting to try both I took a quarter of each. This was a lot of pie! I should have only tried one per night. The flavors are good and blend together beautifully that it isn't too terribly rich or tart. These are a fun treat to have as I don't have pie often. There's no where to sit within the building but I believe it's part of the Beyond Bread location that is right next store, so if you want a place to sit you can go in there to eat your pie. I ordered a coconut cream pie and a lemon meringue for my mom. My friend got German chocolate cream pie and strawberry margarita. The German chocolate and coconut cream pies were divine! I was honestly expecting pie slices but definitely not a whole miniature pie! They also have pot pies and quiche available and the quiche sounds so good. But their pies are their specialty and I can see why. They are delicious. My mom devoured hers and I am still working on mine. It's a lot of food and fairly inexpensive. Super impressed, I could see myself picking up one for dinner when I wanted a home-cooked meal! However the lemon meringue pie was not great. The crust difference between the pot pie and the pie was quite shocking to be honest. Not flaky and tasted like a generic store bought crust, somewhat doughy as well. The crust was a bit dense (I'd prefer more flakey) and they have layered cake between the cream filling which takes too much taste away from the cream filling. Cream. The chocolate top was nice and firm and stood out as well. The pie itself measures only 6" across but it's over a pound. That's how thick and dense it is. The price is $7.75 which includes tax. It's the perfect solution if you need to bring something for a dinner at your friends house or just want to treat the family. I'd say it can feed 4. It's really fast and convenient, I was in and out in probably less than 2 minutes. It's one of the best smelling shops you'll ever be in. Pro tip: It's behind Beyond bread. These pies are pretty good but the crust is a little too rich & thick for me it's nice that they offer a few sugar free ones but I wish there were more I'm not diabetic but I used to be obese then I cut out all sugar & high carbs & lost all the weight which I'm down to my normal BMI now I have more energy & feel great plus I don't have to be on a bunch of medication like I used to be since being overweight from eating sugar & high carbs caused more health problems but if I owned a pie shop I'd substitute the sugar which is poison to your body & use monk fruit sweetener instead it's so much healthier & keto friendly & lastly no trans fat oils which will raise your cholesterol they're basically horrible for you so I just hope this place is not using them or lard either which is even worse but if they're using fresh berries theirs really no need to use extra sugar, still monk fruit is much better than regular sugar & for your waistline!!! read more
