    Churro a la Mode
    Jen B.

Just Churros is hands down my favorite dessert place in town. They make your churros fresh to order so it always smells even better when you place your order. Kids get a kick out of watching the churros be extruded and dropped into the hot oil and the tables all have uno cards on them to entertain you while you wait. My favorite thing is that you can get 2 items for $20! Totally reasonable cost for the whole family. Every item is HUGE and sharable... if you want it to be... Pro-tip for folks with kids: I love to split the Churros a la Mode w my kids, they will give you two separate cups w 1 scoop & 3 mini churros!

Just Churros has a food cart that used to be set up in front of Güero Canelo, down the street, and what a treat it was to eat some sonoran dogs and then walk out to the scent of fresh-made churros wafting around, tempting you! I fell for them every time! Just Churros actually got its start down in Douglas, and they still go down for county fairs, rodeos, and other celebrations, honoring their roots and bringing churro joy back to where it all began for them. Class. Now they have this shop and more choices. Of course, you'll go for the churro treats, but don't sleep on the frescas: house made, thirst-quenching, and delicious! I recommend the jamaica lemonade. Don't be afraid to ask questions. They are super friendly and genuinely want to point you in the right direction.

Full disclosure: I attended a Yelp Elite event the same day as this review, but this review is only on food I purchased. I tried the jamaica recently and thought it was really good. I don't like overly sweet drinks, and this was a tad too sweet for me, but the flavors were still there. The helpful and informative woman who took my order told me that they make all the agua fresca drinks from scratch. I was also told that they rotate. I sampled my wife's watermelon drink, and it was less sweet and delicious. I found the environment to be welcoming and energetic. I could see the churros being cooked fresh, and the food looked amazing. I look forward to trying their other offerings in the future.

OMG, this place serves heaveN in a cup. Best churros I've ever tasted and were elevated to spectacular deliciousness. It's a small, family business that are out to prove the best desserts and service. The family does it all. Cute little place with a southwest decor that feels fun.

Brought my churro-loving daughter with me to try the churros. The employee was very pleasant and went through the menu (there are four items on the menu: churros with dipping sauce, churros a la mode, a churro ice cream sandwich, and churro s'mores). My daughter and I decided to share the Churros S'mores. There are three chocolate choices to make in the s'mores - Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Hershey's Cookies & Cream, or Reese's Peanut Butter cup. Being peanut butter lovers, we chose Reese's. Our thoughts: -the churro "buns" were nicely coated with the cinnamon sugar coating. -loved when we got a bite of churro with peanut butter cup and marshmallow. Our wish was for more distribution of the toppings. The center got the full effect, but the outsides were not affected. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next churro adventure (we want to try the ice cream sundae)

Stopped by the new location on Oracle and Wetmore over by Nordstrom Rack/Home Depot/Total Wine. This is the permanent home for the Just Churros food cart that used to be at El Guerro and then the Albertsons on River. Cute little spot with piping HOT churros! So fresh and delicious. A bag of 8 is a very generous portion with plenty for 2 people. Highly recommend getting a sauce. Cajeta is my favorite!

Family business that started a long time ago. Popular at fairs. Used to just be a food truck until they opended this storefront in early June 2023. You can order one of four things... a bag of 8 churros, 2 scoops of ice cream with 3 churros broken in half around them, a churro sandwich of 2 churros wrapped around like a bun with a scoop of ice cream, or, a similar ice cream sandwhich with marshmallow and a sauce. Churros are thinner than most, but that means the centers are cooked perfectly. Very light, crispy texture on the outside with a tender center. A small cup of sauce (cajeta, caramel, fuge, etc) will set you back about 2 bucks more. Maybe consider carrying smaller cups for $1 so people can sample different flavors and/or not have to share one container for 8 churros. Note: we arrived about 15 minutes to 12 on a Sunday, when they are supposed to open at 12. Unfortunately, the business didn't open until about 11 minutes after the hour and their phones went straight to voice mail before that. Brick and morter is new for this restaurant, so one piece of advice is to be sure to open on time (and if you're late, acknowledge that to the customers who have been waiting). That being said, stuff happens. We are glad we hung around and enjoyed the churros very much. Ask the employees about the history of their churros. We'll be back and you should given them a try.

Just Churros is the real deal. Delicate, crispy and just the right level of moisture in the core. Each bit is so good and their dipping sauces are super tasty. The new location is great and it's nicely setup to watch the magic happen. If you have friends visit from out of town, take them here and blow their minds. Eat a fresh churro and take some home.

Stalked them on Instagram and went to Oracle location specifically for churros. I got an extra bag so I can warm it up in the air fryer! I got sugar crumbs all over me eating in the car!! Yum!

Churros are very good. We ordered a bag with dipping sauce and an ice cream churro sundae. Staff was very nice and new storefront was great to sit and relax for a bit. It does seem a bit pricey for just churros, but a worthwhile splurge when in the area. First time we visited last year was a late night discovery of the food truck in the parking lot, and excellent. I hope the new storefront location does well. I'm sure we'll stop by again when visiting the area.

Just churros is a tiny, local, 3rd generation churro shop located across from the Tucson Mall. Nestled in a shopping center across from Tucson Mall with places like the Home Depot, Jared jewelrs, and BJ's. Brightly lit. Easy to find. Ample parking, being in the shopping center. Counter person was friendly and knowledgeable.

They sold out fast, and when they came back on Thursday, I made sure I was first in line no way I was risking missing out twice. Their menu is incredibly easy to read, streamlined, and straight to the point: it's all about the birria. They keep the payment process simple too, cash or card, no drama, just efficiency. I ordered a birria taco and a mulita, which is basically a double-tortilla birria quesadilla situation, and both were absolute standouts. Prices are on point, especially for the quality. You can literally smell the birria before you even get close to the truck. The meat is juicy and seasoned perfectly; you can taste every layer of flavor. And the cheese? I'm convinced they're using Oaxaca cheese because it is incredibly rich and melts just right. I'm not sure where their permanent spot is, but if you ever see Birria Munchies Truck out in the wild, do yourself a favor and stop. This truck is absolutely worth chasing down. Sam Fox of Fox Concept Restaurants (Wildflower, Blanco, Zinburger, Culinary Drop Out) told Ken Foy of Dante's Fire upon opening his Culinary Drop Out directly across the street that "I'm going to put you out of business so fast..." Not too kind nor professional of words to a fellow chef. Well, Dante's Fire is still open and going strong. So Chef Foy decides to do a food truck. So in a slap in the face to "Culinary Dropout," he names it "Culinary Graduate." I think that's funny. Lost some respect for Sam Fox. So, you look at this food truck's menu and you salivate at every item. The worst part of this truck is having to decide what you are going to order. Part of the problem is that the menu items are $10 a pop or more. Not cheap. I decided to go baseline and tried the Sexy Grilled Cheese. Delicious combination of flavors. My only disappointment was the way the bread was grilled. Uneven. Still had plenty of ungrilled white real estate. Not grilled to perfection as my former favorite food truck, Burgerrito (since moved to Tennesee), could do. That will be my bar of standard for grilled sandwiches forever. The garlic fries were good and I enjoyed them. I was disappointed that he was out of the tomato herb potato chips. I can't remember his name, but I sure enjoyed service from the employee.
