I have been coming to the Estrella bakery since I was a little girl with my family. So happy to be able to now buy it for my daughter. The pan Dulce is on another level. They bake it fresh in the mornings and you can tell. I love the chochitos with a cup of coffee. During the holidays you will see the line is out the door but they do their best to move fast and help everyone out in the timely manner.

A wide variety of pastries and tortillas. The location on 12th Ave has been around for a long time. Service was quick, ambiance was ok. You just need to know what you want, order, pay and leave. My favorite are the empanadas, that day they had all flavors, apple, cherry, pineapple, pumpkin. The tortillas are ok but thicker than I like. Nice family run store.

People voted this the best in Tucson. I'm just amazed how a place known for pastries and tortillas actually offers some healthy options. Friendly people; great layout; and a few sugar-free options of baked vegetable chips and mindful munchies. I love it! Not to mention the pastries are pretty good.

Everything we purchased was delicious. Donuts, concha's, churros and empanadas. All fresh and served up with a smile. Great value

Everything was so fresh and delicious. I wish I could have ate it all in one sitting. My first time trying conchas- they're amazing. The lady who helped me out was helpful and patient with me. Spent about $8 after taxes for all of this (for my husband and I) - worth every penny. Oh and the location was good too - they have parking on site.

Super cute Cantinflas mural. La Doce = The 12th = the street this Estrella Bakery is located at.

My first intro to Mexican Pan Dulce was awesome. I was happy I went with a friend because, although the lady who helped us was super nice and helpful, I would've felt uncomfortable making everyone in line wait for me while I asked what things were. Let's get the cons out of the way: no signs anywhere so really you either know what stuff is or you're lost and have to ask a bunch of questions. When I was there it felt like everyone was a lifelong regular (which should tell you how delicious and fresh everything thing is!) but for the newbies or non-Tucsonans/non-Mexicans who come in like me, some signs with at least names and ideally a description would be great. Even just like a menu type sheet would be great. And I always feel like this type of place should serve like a great coffee to dip your pan dulce in but we had to make another stop for good coffee. That wasn't an option here. Everything else was great. We got an assortment of my friend's faves and even the stuff I didn't love, like the cochitos, were still very-well made and very fresh. I now understand why conchas are everyone's fave. They're delicious but not in your face with flavor, which just means that I could happily eat 27 of these subtle shells. I also loved the pink breads. I don't want to ask how they get that bright pink color, because for some things it's better to keep the mystery alive, but they were soft and slightly crumbly and the flavor was stronger than the concha's but still lightish. Great place, great staff. Affordable, clean, & delicious, my 5 star trifecta!

Absolute best bakery in town! Their donuts and conchas made an appearance on my wedding day, they are DELICIOUS. When my family comes to town I always take them to get some fresh flour tortillas and pastries. Love La Estrella!

Come here for your Mexican pan dulce fix! Come and find fresh corn and flour tortillas. Come and get your spices and pantry filled with Mexican foods and spices, including Arizona's infamous Chile Tepin! It's a small bakery, but filled with the necessary items you may be looking for, and maybe something you didn't know you needed. I come here when I need to get my fresh pan! Enjoy!

They have the best doughnuts! Don't usually go to the actual store but at Tanias on Drexel has an assortment of doughnuts and empanadas.

LBP's bakers make the sublime goods that I recall from back then. Their crust is crunchy/chewy and their bread is substantial, yet cloud-like. Miches, baguettes, epis, loaves, rolls, croissants, & special flavors; all are highest quality bread. And their cake & pastries? Sainte vache! They have fluffy cream puffs, creamy eclairs, yummy cookies, flavorful pies, and more. And don't get me started on their cupcakes, which are moist and tender and even better when they're Cosmic. There is something indescribably delicious about the apple and cherry Crisps. *Chef's Kiss* The staff at La Baguette Parisienne is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. They are also incredibly kind. On my last visit, I managed to take an epic fall (really more of a clumsy crumple) that included pushing a rolling counter across part of the store. My middle name is "Grace". The owner, Kim, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful (nor could the customers there at the time, so I guess kindness attracts kindness). She helped me to get up and was gracious regarding my minor rearrangement of her shop and cheerful enough that I went from embarrassment to laughter in record time. My late beloved Mama found this lovely, cute bake shop decades ago when they first opened, and she was a delighted weekly customer whenever she was at her east-side Tucson home. I hope to carry on her tradition, if less frequently from my UA-area home, until my time on the planet is done (bury me with a plain large Miche, a Cherry Crisp, and a Cosmic Cupcake, please). Highly recommend!

You really wouldn't see this place driving down Wilmot because it's tucked behind two businesses, with 4 fifteen minutes parking spots designated for the shop. It's a small little pie shop and all pies are six inch mini pies for $7.99. Many are topped with pipped whipped cream unless you order a double crust fruit pie or quiche. I think I've sampled every pie. The size is perfect to split with someone. No drinks or other things are available here, but one can purchase drinks down the way at Beyond Bread. The staff are always getting customers rung up and out quick. Because the space is so small you go in the entrance, order your pies and then go out an exit door. There's no room for meandering or window shopping. You just wait your turn to look and order right away and I rung up the whole space is quite small nonetheless it's fun to go there and get a little treat now and again. And today was one of those days. My mom and I parked while my sister was checking out Bookmans. We picked out a pie to share, went to the patio to eat it, and it was good.
