I've been to Richie's Cafe twice now, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both times were a great experience. I'm a pilot living in Phoenix, so flying in to Ryan Airfield and having a restaurant at the airport is very convenient. The time I went for lunch (about two weeks ago), I ordered their Manhattan Club sandwich with a side of tater tots. The sandwich was massive, but also delicious! The tater tots were crispy and freshly made. The time I went for breakfast (this past weekend), I ordered their breakfast burrito and some coffee. When ordering the burrito, you get a choice of what type of meat, potato, and cheese you want. I went with chorizo and tater tots. My waitress recommended pepper jack with that combo, so I went with that. The burrito did not disappoint. It was a good size and tasted amazing. Between both visits, the waitresses were very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of good options on the menu, so I asked for recommendations, which they happily gave. They were also incredibly patient when I was struggling to decide what to order, so thank you! I also like how the restaurant is aviation themed. There's model airplanes all over as well as pictures of all kinds of planes. The view of the airport is nice too! I'd say it's a good place to eat at whether you're flying or driving :) read more

The Pig Out Breakfast is no joke! Being a big guy sometimes I will order the bigger breakfast but the first thing I thought when they brought me my breakfast was I'm gonna need a to go box. Delicious thick cut bacon, fat sausage links, a nice portion of well seasoned and nicely cooked hash browns, with scrambled eggs, English muffins and 2 huge pancakes all for $14. Shout out to Kat. If anyone more deserving of a generous Tip, this Gal does. She was friendly , personable and was on it... all a while serving 8 tables 2 of which 4 and 6 ppl. She knew we wanted ranch and a to go cup. She must read minds cuz I didn't have ask...she just brought it. That's service Food was massive. Ordered the Manhattan with tater tots and I barely could finish eating half of my samich. Hubs ordered the French dip with big hefty cut fries. Now that French dip had a lot of meat and thickly sliced too spilling off the soft bun! Drinks never emptied...she was there before your straw sucked air. I really liked how they gave you a little basket filled with a variety of teas. Also you had a mini carafe of extra hot water...that's a classy ..you don't even get that at Denny's . The only thing I gave one less start is that the grease that the tots and the fries were fried in tasted really old but I still ate my tots... Definitely a good place to try out. read more

We rode out to Richie's at Ryan field for breakfast a couple of Sundays ago. We had super friendly service by 2 different lovely young women. I apologize I should have written down their names, maybe you'll forgive me as I'm old. I also didn't take any pictures to share. I will do that next time! The food and service was very good, the view of the Concorde landing next to you window is pretty darn good too! Actually it was fun to watch the private plane guys roll in for their Sunday am coffee and breakfast as well. I've seen the signs for the past couple of years, and I always thought it was inside the airport or something. I do not claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed. Finally stopped in to check out. I'm glad I did. Nice interior with plenty of seating and views of the flight line. Clean restrooms and dining area, with counter seating Super friendly young lady (Isela) hope I got that right, who was very helpful with the menu. I was heading out, so I grabbed a breakfast burrito to go. I did extra crispy bacon for the meat choice. Burrito was huge, packed with potatoes and cheese. Came with salsa. Overall, the burrito was decent, a little bland for me. I was not a fan of the salsa. I think if I had some different salsa or something to spice it up, it would have been better. Pancakes? Flapjacks? Hotcakes? Whatever you call 'em, these are the best ones I've ever had, on par with Dupar's in West LA. Everything was good - especially the apple sausage. The Pig-Out breakfast is a great value. Parking is really easy. Service is fast and friendly. When was that last time you were called Hun? Okay, they did mess up our bills when there were only two couples, but we worked it out. Atmosphere is casual and a bit worn out. The men's bathroom is less that savory. But, seriously, for griddle cakes that fill your plate with crispy, fluffy, comfort. (We were visiting Kitt Peak and stopped here twice.) read more

This place is so gross. It's dirty. The floor is sticky when you walk across it. The tables are half wiped off and then set with utensils. It's just in really bad shape. The food was okay. They were out of a bunch of stuff and there was like one waitress working so service was slow. I recommend skipping this place and driving up the road a little bit to Bisbee Breakfast Club instead. read more

I stopped at Richie's for lunch after making a visit to Kitt's Peak Observatory, my second visit in as many years. On each visit, the food was very tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. I tried their soup of the day, potato and bacon, and it was very good. I love the laid-back atmosphere and the fact that I can watch the planes taking off and landing while enjoying a decent meal. My server, Taylor, was very friendly and she made me feel right at home. She had a fun sense of humor and I'm sure that her customers always enjoy seeing her! I don't know what has happened here. The service was great but the food, not so much. We sat in a corner booth that had a huge spiders web and it looked like no one has bothered to clean for a very long time. Food- we were a party of 3 and all of us noticed the food had an off soured flavor. My scrambled eggs were just stirred eggs and cooked to a rubbery pile of yuck. Walked in and the customer service was very welcoming. Waitress was bubbly. We ordered our food. It came hot and fresh. The pancakes were undercooked and dry idk if that make sense had to keep putting in syrup. To wheat toast was delicious. Coffee was so so (black). Eggs were a little burnt. bacon was thick and delicious hashbrowns were hashbrown. Sausages were thick cooked but not roasted just grey blobs haha but delicious. All in all food was good but not great. Waitress didnt come check on us only maybe once. Didnt ask if i needed refill on my orange juice, didnt ask if we wanted dessert. Didnt ask if there was anything else we need didn't ask if we wanted boxes or anything. But she was nice enough. The place is clean and simple. It's quiet but nice view of the planes. They have self seating. The only big complaint i have is the womens restrooms because i didnt go into the mens i can not comment. The womens restroom floor was super sticky and the corners had stuck dirt. the sinks was filthy from not being wiped black streaks going down the drain. The toilet was worst. Black ring and streaks in toilet bowl. Calcium buildup from not cleaning. Mirror was clean. the walls were dirty full of prints and dust and gunk. So for that reason i probably wont go back. I had the cheese burger and fries. My friend had the patty melt and fries. The fries were delicious! I loved the cut of them. We were not a fan of the sandwiches. The patty melt was not on rye bread. Promptly served and were told they were out of buns (no burgers or french dip unless sub sandwich bread) so I ordered a BLT and wife had a Turkey club. Those were served with no lettuce, and we weren't informed they were out of lettuce. People next to us ordered iced tea and were told they were out of that too. Good, full, meals here previously, but not this time. There are too many other good restaurants to have a meal and not be shorted. Gotta get this fixed if you want people back. read more

Richie's Afterhour's Italian Bristo. 5 of us went to eat last night. The italian sausage, the salad and the garlic bread was good. The spaghetti, ravioli, soup and alfredo dishes shouldn't of been served. This was not authentic italian food as advertised. Not sure what it was. It wasn't a good experience for any of us. My first review of Richie's, when it had been open 5 days, wasn't so good. And we haven't been back since that experience. It was a shame, as it's fairly close to us. We were looking for a different place to eat and decided to give Richie's another try. In looking at Richie's reviews, it seems to be 1 star, or 5 stars - maybe who's cooking that day? Not sure.... Walking in, the place looked so much better. It's cleaner, the light fixtures are nice and the place "felt" better. The server was really nice - I think she was there the last time we were there. Husband ordered a green chili cheese burger; I ordered the tuna melt. We both ordered onion rings as our side. It was fairly early in the afternoon but not busy. Husband dug right in to the burger and said it was good. My tune melt was on rye (small slices of bread) and toasted perfectly. There were tiny pieces of celery in the melt that gave the sandwich a bright spot in the heaviness of the tune and cheese. Our onion rings were perfect. The server checked back with us to see if all was okay, and it was. We'll go back. This was a much better experience this time around. read more

Have been by a few times in the past few months. Quite an improvement from my first visit and review four years ago. Good friendly service and my last two meals have been decent. Very well prepared burger cooked on a flat top today. I selected the coleslaw for a side and it was delicious. Definitely plan on returning on a frequent basis. read more

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The portion sizes were pretty big and the service was ultra friendly. I truly appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the wait staff that was there. My waitress was ultra nice and very on top of her game with our service. She was very funny and cracked a few jokes with us. I got the chef salad for about $10 and it was pretty big. My friends got the wings and the size of them was pretty decent. I've been to places like Buffalo wild wings with the wings look like they're from pigeons or something. This place has actual chicken wings and they were covered in buffalo sauce and one might even say swimming in the sauce. It's better to have more sauce than not enough. The atmosphere was pretty chill and I enjoyed watching the airplanes takeoff from there. It wasn't too crowded but we did go a little bit after lunchtime. They usually close at 3 PM so between 1 PM and 3 PM it's pretty quiet in there. Not sure how many people will be stopping by here saying that it's over by Ryan airfield but hey if you're gonna stop somewhere while on Ajo you might as well stop here. Great little local spot if you're looking for some breakfast. The place was clean and actually had an awesome view of the small airport and mountains. The servers seemed a bit irritated that we were there and were not the most welcoming which is why I'm knocking off a star. I walked out of there paying roughly $13 for my breakfast and coffee which was more than reasonable considering that also included the tip. My pancake was hot and the bacon was cooked just right and my toast was buttered perfectly. Would definitely stop by this place again and hopefully the servers are in better spirits. read more

I would never eat there again ...I ordered the heavous rancheros, and the eggs were ladle with oil and beans were lukewarm to taste and it tasted as if it was from a can. my sister ordered a chorizo with potatoes and egg ..it's was wasn't cook right, so she had ordered something else, she order a hamburger and fries,and the fries came back burnt. So then I ordered toast and they burnt that too .. having to pay almost $16 for a hamburger and toast....they are to over price for what you get.... I used to come here when it was Todds restuarant and everything was homemade..and was awesome ...Found out that Ryan Air Fields didn't want to renew there lease and got some 2nd rate restuarant to replace it...Shame on RYAN AIR FIELD I WILL NEVER EAT there AGAIN ...Save your money it was the worst place to eat. read more

I was really hoping this restaurant would be good because I just moved to the area and I could see myself ordering from here a lot seeing as how there aren't very many places to eat close by. So I ordered a burger and fries and the burger looked slapped together and really greasy. I could tell the green chiles they put in it were straight from a can. Flavorless and a little sour from the taste of vinegar. And the fries is where I drew the line! Disgusting and inedible. I don't know how they felt it was okay to serve these fries. They were black and shriveled up! Never ever eating here again! It was a big waste of money. I was insulted that they thought that serving this food to me was acceptable. Well, 4 years later and it's about the same. They did add lots of photos of planes, all too small to really see without getting up from your table and walking to the wall. They add nothing to improve the decor. Get someone to paint one of those great pin-up ladies they put on the sides of planes in WW2!!! Maybe paint some tattoos the service men would have had! You know, MOM in a heart with a ribbon, etc. Just something to make it fun. It desperately needs fun. The food is still lackluster and service slow, or maybe the kitchen is slow so the service is slow. Somebody is slow! Not worth going to even though it is about 12+ miles closer to us than any other breakfast restaurant. If there was any other reason to go there, we'd be there 3 or 4 times a week. read more

Diners can access this cafe by either flying in or by driving up! For cars, the lot is limited. For aircraft, there are plenty of tiedowns. Inside, the facility is kinda plain. From inside, you can watch planes taxi up...but unfortunately, you're too far from the runway to watch any takeoffs or landings and your view is further obstructed by hangars. I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich. The meat was larger than the bun which was a plus. It tasted OK. One of my friends tried the fried chicken...she didn't like it. My other friend tried a pull pork sandwich and liked his meal. Now for sides, a couple of us selected tater tots instead of French fries....they were hot and crispy! This place is an RC cola place...no Pepsi or Come...but they do have Dr Pepper. For me, this place was just average...there's lots of potential and with the road improvement project, it might turn into a favorite for locals. read more

Food was delicious! I can tell the cook puts a lot of love into this. Average wait time- this isn't fast food but it's totally worth it. Everything was freshly cooked and had great flavor. It was first time I could get my 2 year old to try chorizo and he loved it! For kids- I had my kids split a waffle and added the eggs and bacon to it and that was plenty. Overall, portion sizes seem generous. Everything is made to order, the service is great, and it has a pleasant country diner vibe. Been local down in this area of town last 4 years, the previous restraunt that was here was amazing. Sadly to say Richies just doesnt cut it. The servers are pleasant enough but slow. The meals are slow to come out yet undercooked or lacking flavor. Make sure you ask for well cooked eggs other wise youll end up with runny eggs. Gross. Neither of the kids liked the pancakes either. Guess we will be driving farther out for dinners and brunches from now on. read more

There is always great service and the food is spot on for diner food. I always leave satisfied.
