We enjoyed breakfast at the Beverly Hills Grill on a weekday recently. It wasn't crowded or loud, even with the television on at the bar. Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. The large portion of Smoked Salmon Scramble was delicious - fluffy eggs, large chunks of salmon and melted creamed cheese goodness with buttered English Muffin. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70. read more

I've passed this place a million times and never thought to dine here. Until I was invited by some friends and we had Friday night dinner here. The restaurant is extremely quaint. But you could tell it was a place that had regulars. The restaurant had nightly specials that were written on a chalkboard that added to their list of menu items. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. Our table ordered a variety of cocktails that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone enjoyed their dinner as well as the appetizers. BHG has been a staple in the area for decades and is a solid choice for a meet-up no matter what time of day! I've had a girls' night dinner here before that was lovely and most recently, I met a friend for a Saturday morning breakfast. Service is attentive and the restaurant itself is classy, but not pretentious. There is a parking lot and it's conveniently located for anyone in the Southfield / Beverly Hills / Birmingham / Bloomfield area. On my recent brunch visit, I went with a vegetable scramble. I had it with egg whites and it includes shiitake mushrooms, red onions, grape tomatoes, baby spinach and chevre. It also comes with an english muffin and fresh jam or marmalade. It was delicious! Prices are fair albeit a tad bit high, but you get what you pay for and it's quality for sure... It does get busy on weekends, so I suggest making a reservation to be safe. read more

Delicious food, great service and an easy location to get to right off of Southfield road. Great bar space, plenty of table and booth seating and seems like a great lively breakfast and brunch spot. The staff was great, working in a team oriented structure so we saw multiple members of staff at our table which made for great timely service and coffee refills. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, will definitely be back! For breakfast we ordered corned beef hash with poached eggs and English muffins (a lot of the breakfast choices comes with an english muffin) and an egg omelette. This is one of the spot I frequent when in the Southfield/Beverly Hills area. The food here is so good. Every time I come, I have a great time. Erin took care of me at the bar and she's amazing. Went for dinner last night with an early reservation and we were seated immediately! Started with some cocktails I had an old fashioned they make it with Luxardo Cherries and Woodford reserve bourbon that was pretty good, at the very least made properly. Then we started with steak medallions the order is big but not overly filling , we also had Brussels sprouts that was excellent 4.7/5! For our main course I had a lamb shank special that was good 4/5 subbed truffle fries! My wife had crab cakes the order is big comes with three! For dessert we had an apple cobbler served with rays vanilla ice cream this was big and delicious! The waitress was friendly attentive and cleaned the table during the meal. Just picked up the Meatloaf dinner. The slices of meatloaf were half the size they used to be. They were very dried out and charred on the edges. The grilled onions were greasy and dried out. The Beverly Hills Grill is my #1 breakfast/brunch spot. I have never had anything that I didn't enjoy. The food and drinks are always delicious. The service is amazing. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Service was nice and friendly. Ambiance was decent but you have to park in the back and walk to the front. I had a crab and lobster omelette which was horrible. Omelet had small flakes of crabmeat and lobster. You actually taste more spinach than anything in omelette. And they automatically add a 20% gratuity no matter how people they are serving!! It's my choice on how much I want to give depending on the service. I normally give 30% if it's good service. But I don't recommend this places its horrible food. I haven't been to BHG in over 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my favorite salad is still on the menu! The pulled chicken salad is my favorite salad there. I used to get it all the time when I lived close by this restaurant. The salad was exactly how I remembered it. It did not disappoint. I also had the James Beard hash browns and they were good. Unique in that the outside was crispy and the inside was kind of soft like mashed potatoes. I like the two textures. It was a treat for me to go this weekend with a group of friends and it was a good experience. We went at noon on a Sunday during their brunch and it was packed! Definitely have a reservation if you have a party of six or more. That is the minimum to have a reservation. Our waitress was really friendly and she kept making sure that we didn't need anything else. Very attent ive, which I appreciate. They add a 20% gratuity automatically for all dine in customers. They even circled it on the receipt so that you realized it was there. I thought that was excellent. They also had no issues separating our bills which is also wonderful because so many restaurants now give you a hard time about separate bills. This wasn't a cheap brunch, but it was delicious. This place has been a staple for years. Despite a recent change in ownership it remains consistent which I put a lot of stock in. Food is well prepared and flavorful. Menu gets updated periodically. Excellent service and food! We booked a table for 10 for brunch and we had a great experience!

I definitely enjoyed my visit here! We were able to fit 6 people in their big booth, there probably could have been one more. The bathrooms were clean and so were all the dishes and silverware, I ordered the crab omelette and it definitely was delicious! I'd order it again. They had English muffins but there were better than any other English muffin I've ever had. Had brunch here the other day and it was a great experience. I do recommend making a reservation though because they get busy quick. My party needed up sitting at the bar and still had a great experience. The bartender/ waitress was so sweet and did a great job with our drinks and food suggestions. Also provided great conversation! I have a gluten allergy and had no issues eating here. Well... call me pleasantly surprised. When I saw the name "Grill", it evoked images of a 1970s diner. Yet... this is more upscale - in a relatively affluent neighborhood in the Detroit area that's thrived for decades. Quite a selection of appetizers ranging from whiskey steak medallions to truffle fries. There are quite a few salads to choose from. There's probably 10-15 options for a main course with either beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, or pork - served with vegetables and a sauce that complements the main dish. Don't expect normal "grill" or "diner" food - this is more prepared like a chef in a fancier restaurant - but without the fancy atmosphere or the high price. They do have daily specials that are prepared that I'd recommend. Good place to meet with friends vs. a romantic spot. read more

I love the daily specials also where it's pop up drinks, desserts, and entrees. You really just never know what they will have which is a nice addition to their standard menu. I debated posting this review. My husband and I used to love BHG, we live nearby and it has always been 'our' spot. Our most recent meal here will unfortunately be our last. I was served a filet that was off. The moment it was placed in front of me, I could smell it. I took a bite regardless and should have spit it out - my husband took a bite to check too, and agreed the meat was off. We sent it back, no compensation offered. That night we both fell ill. I called the next morning to let management know, and they put a free meal down for us on the books. Thanks I guess, but resolution during the meal would have obviously been better - especially because we won't be back. I also feel like the service we receive here is never good - maybe because we're younger than the average patron. read more
