Great food, quick service, and in a good spot in downtown Clawson. We sat outside on a nice day and got the peach & cream French toast and a veggie omelet. Both were delicious and the food came out really fast. Will definitely be going back!
Delcious delicious delicious. Great atmosphere and great service. The shrimp and grits were the highlight of the table followed closely by the cornflake French toast!!
Bright little diner with a lot of tables, slightly crowded together. Ordered the Cornflake French toast and a side of bacon. Bacon was good although I doubt it was freshly cooked, French toast had a not so great taste so I didn't eat more than a couple bites. Staff was friendly and attentive, manager comped the French toast and apologized. Server offered to bring me something else but I declined. Not sure that I would go back

The food at all of the French Toast locations never disappoints! Even the espresso martini was delicious! The peach cobbler was good but I like the crust at the Plymouth location. Service was excellent per usual and this location was rather quiet, not packed with people; very clean and they have a nice patio you can eat on. I will return when I'm in the area!
This might be one of my new favorite gems! French inspired and so cute. Destinee was our server and she was amazing for our first time here. It was also both mine and my bestie's birthday and she's made it extra special with 2 bday beignet desserts. I had the Shrimp and Grits. It was so delicious I cleaned my plate. It's going to difficult cut to get that again. For my beverage, I had the French 77, which I loved. I can't wait to go back!
Excellent little restaurant in downtown clawson featuring delicious brunch with a unique twist and lunch/dinner options. There's quite a few creole options and they even have crispy potato pancakes as a side to many of their breakfasts. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor has comfy booths, tables and even has a full bar. Mohammed was a great server! We will definitely be back.
You can never go wrong with French toast bistro. The only thing I noticed with this location is that they were kind of slower preparing the food. But it was delicious, I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was fluffy and they give a chicken breast which was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The service was great. It's funny the server I had originally worked at the canton location it was nice to see he was doing well. The ambiance I nice and clean.
Great service. Second time here, it was much less busy earlier in the morning. Food was hot but potatoes were not good. Coffee & cappachino was delicious, our server Braylon (sorry if misspelled) was very kind & helpful.
Came here on a Sunday morning; it was jam-packed. Thank goodness I got takeout; otherwise I would have had to wait for a table. I got the lobster omelet and the French toast. The lobster omelet was pretty big, filled with small chunks of lobster, mixed vegetables including mushroom, and cheese. There were red-skinned potatoes, which were well made. There was also a biscuit included, which is pretty standard. I also got a side of French Toast which was soft and fluffy and was pretty good with syrup . I think out of all the French toast I've had, this is up there to be one of the best. This is a solid breakfast place to add to your arsenal if you are a brunch type of person.

Outside is a huge patio area well shaded. A large brunch menu, and many cocktail specials, some beer and wine. The food was pricey, more like Birmingham prices. However, the food was excellent. The staff was also great.

New Orleans / French / southern theme here. This used to either be the hamburger or egg frittata or ice cream place before. Beyond the green curtain is Viridian, a speakeasy an evening Open Table reservation only spot. The lobster omelet sounds pretty good, maybe add some crab meat too? Then again the sweet potato bowl sounds good too. A few spots in the lot in the alley, most likely have to park out on the street, since the back lot is full. Nyla is waiting on us, she and the rest of the staff are pleasant. Ordered a black coffee with oat milk side, green tea, sweet potato bowl with blackened salmon, lobster omelet with white cheddar grits instead of potatoes and side of biscuit and extra side of turkey sausage. $79.50 The house salad was blah. Some brunt romaine lettuce, some thick red onion ends, some maybe cooked cherry tomatoes, the skins looked wrinkled and old. The herb vinaigrette for the house salad is all lemon, not much else, not for me, but it's the lemon vinaigrette or ranch, neither is good to me at all. I asked for EVOO or any kind of Olive Oil, they don't have any, super shocked. Finally a manager said they will give me Olive oil to eat my salad, not what I wanted, but better than the lemon. The EVOO with fresh black pepper was better than the champagne lemon vinaigrette. The sweet potato bowl without the salmon is super salty, too salty and it would one be sweet potatoes, onion, frozen red pepper slices, Brussel sprouts and cherry tomatoes, kind of a sparse ingredients for a bowl, no? The dish as a whole is extremely salty, almost tastes like an entire ramekin of salt was dumped into my bowl, accidentally. The salmon was okay, slightly undercooked near the top side. The turkey sausage is quite salty, not as salty as my potato bowl. The chef here likes to salt their food plenty. Biscuit is so-so, nothing buttery or special about it.

This place is the best! I am in town from Orchard Park NY, visiting my longtime best friend, and started today at 11 am at this wonderful establishment! Started with an amazing Bloody Mary Followed by an awesome Espresso Martini, yum!!! Ordered biscuits and gravy. O.M.G. I normally would not have ordered that, but my friend said that it was sooo good and so I ordered. Did not disappoint!! Our server, Kiki, was so friendly, outgoing, and so sweet! Great service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. This place is wonderful! 10 out of 10. read more

This location seems different from their others. Food was decent, however the portions were not like the other location. They were a little skimpy here. They cut a lot of corners. The service was very slow. Like very slow. The waitress was nice, but forgetful and it was a wait for everything. I came for a birthday brunch, but...nothing. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and were confused when we didn't see the cheese sauce. They had a small sliver of it underneath. The sauce is usually visible. We asked for extra before hand (while ordering) on there. Asked for extra on the side and waited for that. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict and I actually asked for my eggs scrambled eggs. But they did it wrong and I had to wait. Then I was served cold potatoes. The flavor was good. My friend ordered the normal eggs Benedict with the ham. It was lunch meat worth of a portion. There was barely any ham and it was super thin. We also asked for extra hollandaise beforehand and didn't get it. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this location. The prices are nice, but the wait we did was not reasonable at all. Especially to be served lukewarm/cold food. read more

I've been a big fan of French Toast Bistro Plymouth location since 2017. Their food is always good, proudly and carefully prepared. Whenever I introduce French Toast Bistro to my friends, they are all impressed with the food love them. I'm pretty satisfying with the food, service and outdoor seating of this location. read more

Great place for big breakfast or Cajun inspired dishes. French toasts and omelets are pretty generous. The cheese grits are the best I've ever had. They also have gumbo, shrimp n'grits and po boys here. read more
Wow, so glad we tried French Toast Bistro out! It was busy when we walked in, but we were able to get a table almost immediately; waitress was very friendly, funny, and willing to answer questions/make recommendations for meals. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and added a side of Cheddar Grits and I REGRET NOTHING!! The biscuits were pillowy, the sausage gravy peppery and rich, the scrambled eggs cooked perfectly! And oh man, those grits!--don't tell my husband, but I might leave him for those! I also loved the little side of greens served w the biscuits and gravy; the greens and lemony vinaigrette cut the richness of the biscuits and gravy PERFECTLY! Also, hands down best cup of coffee I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time--good beans to water ratio, and great flavor; strong and dark! read more

Friendly service. Awesome menu choices from breakfast to dinner and beyond. Still the four of decided to go with the varied French Toast offerings. Lots of hot coffee through the meal. They're ready to open their outdoor dining patio on Main Street but we enjoyed our place inside. read more

Great new addition to Clawson. Ample parking in back of building. Very inviting seating area with great wait staff. Had the Arcadian Benedict which I highly recommend. I enjoyed my experience. Service was very good and thorough. Really talked up the kitchen, etc. My food was pretty good. I've had better crab cake Benedicts but this was solid. The cheese grits were good too and I'm not usually a fan of grits. Salad had some wilted pieces unfortunately. They have a nice patio though there's not a ton of seating inside. read more
French toast bistro is a great spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch in easy to park, Clawson. They have a full bar, so no worries for those sweet brunch cocktails. Service was fast and courteous and we were easily able to split our French toast and salad. The food was delicious and potions were large. They have some fun Cajun items like shrimp poboys and my fave, shrimp and grits! Check it out! read more
I'm going to try and give this place a break. It's fairly new, and I'm sure they're working their bugs out. The waitresses seem a little confused on what they're supposed to do, whether it be seating customers, running their food, taking orders, taking breaks. The food was very good, however, it definitely took a while for it to be made. I have a strange feeling they only have one cook in the back that kind of does whatever they want when they want to. I saw a table of people that came in, they were seated, and then ignored. They got up and left after about 10 minutes of not being served?? At one point I wanted some coffee and there wasn't anyone, anyone on the floor? I really hope they get their self together, this place is a very nice looking place and it seemed clean, but I can probably say with the disorganization that it has it won't be lasting long unless they get it together. read more

Decided to check French Toast for lunch. Outstanding menu with lots of choices I haven't seen around town. Cute decor, very good service, fabric napkins! Definitely try the Acadian Benedict. I've had this place on my list for a while, so when we were in the area on a Saturday morning, it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. It's a pretty small place, but the decor is fun and tasteful. Our server, Hannah, was very friendly and attentive. Given the name of the place, we both had to try the French toast - I had the Mama-Style and my wife had the Peaches & Cream - both were very good. The bread was huge! There were a lot of good choices on the menu, so I'd love to go back and give something else a try. read more

Came here with a group to try out this new Clawson restaurant. They have 2 other locations but have been in this one less than 6 months. But you wouldn't know that from the way they work. We had mimosas, french toasts and omelets. I my lobster omelet and the gf eggs Benedict were good even at take away. Anna handled our group well. And the large patio they have out front is nice. read more

French Toast Bistro is honestly so good. I went for brunch and ended up coming back the next day because everything we tried hit. The shrimp and grits were delicious, and I really appreciated being able to sub turkey for the andouille sausage since I don't eat pork. The Creole Board is a must--fried green tomatoes and shrimp? Yes, please. We also tried the chicken Alfredo, the crab cake eggs benedict, and the lobster omelette (I swapped the grits for potatoes and it was perfect). The beignets? Don't skip them. Just trust me. Service was super friendly, the restaurant was really clean, and our server told us cocktails are coming soon--so yeah, I'll definitely be back for that. Chill vibe, great food, 10/10. read more

Not bad just wasn't all that impressed. We went on a Tuesday during the day so it was not busy but took quite a while to get our food. I have a feeling this place is great if you're looking to drink multiple drinks and spend some time. The music was pretty loud for the time of day too. Just okay in my opinion, worth a try though if you love brunch. Prices were decent so that's a plus. read more
