Great place to get a foccacia sandwich. We got the muffuleta and prosciutto sandwiches. The prosciutto came with a fig jam that was a little too sweet for me but my partner loved it. Both sandwiches were much more greasy than I would have liked, next time will hold the EVOO that is added to the sandwiches.

Smaller shop with delicious Italian sandwiches! Limited seating but definitely worth a try! It gives you that italian market vibe with good music playing. We had the Mortadella & Ricotta & Muffuletta. Both were packed with freshness and flavor. The Whipped ricotta gave the sandwich a beautiful creaminess and the Muffuletta was on the spicier side with the giardiniera but delicious! The cashier was friendly and helpful and we received our sandwiches pretty quick. Definitely will be back!

Birmingham, Michigan--who knew? I've been around the world and back, but this town is easily one of the fanciest, most polished places I've set foot in. Think designer storefronts, perfectly groomed sidewalks, and a vibe that just screams money. I mean this gives Beverly Hills a run for their money! Right in the middle of all that shine sits La Pecora Nera, a quaint little sandwich shop that almost feels like a secret gem tucked inside the town center. Now, I'll admit it--I'm a sucker for focaccia. That's what pulled me through their doors. I went straight for the prosciutto with fig, a combo I've tried at plenty of spots before. Here's the verdict: overall, a solid sandwich. The sweetness of the fig worked nicely with the saltiness of the prosciutto, but the edges of that focaccia leaned a little too crispy, and a couple of prosciutto slices were tougher than I'd like. Not a dealbreaker, but very much noticeable. Would I go back? Probably. Even if just to grab a sandwich and soak up the opulence of Birmingham's town center....legs crossed, pinkies up ?!

THE BIG: Authentic Italian sandwich shop in downtown Birmingham! Cute lil shop inside with classic italian sandwiches on the Schiacciata bread. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This spot reminds me of All'antico Vinaio in Florence. It serves the same tuscan sandwich that reminds me of Italy. For the foods, I came twice in two days. I got the the viareggio and a cannoli the first time. The second time, I got the napa club and a cannoli. The cannoli is very fresh with the filling put in as you order so it doesn't get soggy. My favorite bite was definitely the viareggio. It's the bread plus the fresh meats! I'm a sucker for a good sandwich. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Ultimately for each trip it only set me back around $22 for a sandwich and a cannoli. Very affordable and very delicious. I will be back.

This review is just for the cannoli. I was walking back to my car after stopping at Paris Baguette after work yesterday, and was feeling a little gluttonous (I'm also 7 months pregnant, so I'll use that as my excuse, lol), and saw the cannoli sign in the window, so I stopped in. I've heard of their Detroit location before - apparently they have one in Farmington too - but they're new to Birmingham, when I asked they said they been here 3-4 months. I want to say this is where Planthropie was, but I may not be correct on that. They have the cannoli shells ready to go, and they add the ricotta when you order. You can also choose if you want caramel and/or chocolate sauce on top. The cannoli are $3.75 each and I think there was a discount if you bought a certain #, I just bought two though. The sandwiches looked fantastic although unfortunately I'm not supposed to have deli meat right now.... I'll be back after August, since I'm due then. :) Overall I'd come back here, service was friendly too.

Really good sandwiches, the aioli and ciabatta bread are perfect! The portions are on the larger end. The service is usually pretty quick, and you can order ahead or schedule a pickup time, but there's usually a wait during lunch time if you order at the counter. It's a small place and there's only a couple tables and chairs inside.

Finally some GOOD food in Birmingham! This is the best little sandwich shop. Perfect for a quick lunch while at work, or recently my favorite place to take someone new to the area. Only a couple of tables chairs so I recommend a carry out- online orders are quick and easy with pictures of all the sandwiches. Everything I've tried has been fantastic but the Ruben Angelo (ask for the Angelina if you want turkey) has been my go to order. A gem in the area for sure!

Some friends had recommended this place to us a few weeks ago, so when we were wandering around Birmingham on a pretty spring day, we decided to give it a try. The menu has a variety of sandwiches and salads to choose from. I tried the spicy chicken Caesar and my wife did the same, without the spice. The sandwiches were very good, but they were huge - we probably would have split one if we knew that ahead of time. It was also kind of pricey - not unusual for most places in Birmingham - but $35 for two sandwiches and two waters seemed a little steep. There are a few small tables inside, but you're probably better off taking your food to go.

What you think you're ordering for $3.50

This review is simply for the "sides" of Red Cabbage Slaw that they have for $3.50. You would think you would get what was pictured on the app, but that is a tiny taste in a small plastic sauce cup for dressings!! Either change the size to mimic the price or change the PRICE.

Great new addition for breakfast/lunch options. Cool vibe and attentive service. You order at the counter and there is limited seating. Great tasting big sandwiches. Took half the sandwich home. We ordered the Turkey Bella and the Italiano. Not a fan of the focaccia bread. Wish I knew you can substitute an Italian roll at no extra cost. Both sandwiches were seriously under "sauced". Ask for extra aioli/dressing on the side.

You know damn well Yelpers that the number 1 rule about doing these reviews is this: NEVER DELIVER. It's just not the right way to experience it. You need the conversation, you need the interior, you need the cashier asking if you'd like to tip. (You know I'm joking, they don't ask. My fellow Berklians know that I ALWAYS tip 20%) When I walked in this couple already looked like they got into it. Atleast I know that if it's not love, or sadness being put into my pizza; it's ANGER. Beat that dough and smash those tomatoes. Slap that mootz onto that fresh pie, spank it a little. If your head doesn't look the color of a San Marzano making my pie... don't even bother. The crank hands me and my girlfriend the garlic bread. Bro. This might actually be some of the best bread I've ever had. It's like Canes with their sauce. Garlic bread is an incredibly overlooked component to a good pizza and I'm so happy that they put there ALL into making the best possible cheese bread. So delicious, it melts! The pizza was quite floppy, albeit, that was probably on me for leaving it in the box for more than 10 minutes. But the crust is chewy, the taste is pretty good. Tomatoes were a little bland, but that's probably a compliment to the cheese; like, hey look at me, f*** the tomato- look at me! I'm buffalo mozzarella, look how good I am. The penne pasta we got was VERY sweet, and cooked to perfection! The sauce was so sweet it almost tasted like it was TOO sweet. I literally had to add SALT to it like when should anyone ever have to do that to something overpowered by sweetness? Me of course cause clearly I wasn't thinking. It turned out to be spectacular though. I liked Grano, pretty good pizza at a monstrous price. But you can't deny, CLEANEST kitchen in the whole U.S. and definitely a lot of care put into their craft. There are 100% some maestro's coming out of that walk-in everyday, and like Tony Soprano's psychiatrist said, hope comes in many different forms. I love Italian-America, it's so dedicated. (4/5)

We also were lucky to get the last two oysters of the night. They were super fresh and just the right start. We honestly loved every single dish. Our surprise favorite was the Eggplant Fritti. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it turned out to be incredibly flavorful and one of the best things on the table. If they have the Dover Sole special when you go, definitely get it. It was perfectly cooked, delicate yet rich. The Rigatoni Spicy Palomino was out of this world, and worth every single bite. Service is exceptional. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the night. We always love having Elena as our server! We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was the perfect choice. Our server, Patrick, was an absolute delight and took good care of us throughout our meal. We started with an appetizer special, the Wagyu meatball with fondue. It definitely did not fit the standard definition of a meatball, which was a good thing. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted great! For our next course, we split a Caesar Salad, but the parmesan basket it was served in made this dish truly unique. For my entree I had the Rigatoni alla Vodka. Vodka sauces are a favorite of mine and this one was among the best I've had. I was also quite pleased with the serving size, something that many Italian restaurants miss the mark on. My wife had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. She loves a good bolognese sauce and truly enjoyed this one. We had originally decided to pass on dessert, but much to our surprise and delight, the head chef/owner brought us a cannoli, with a delicate "happy anniversary" chocolate wedged into a raspberry. It was a very kind and thoughtful way to wrap up a wonderful dining experience.
