This deli sits in a strip at the corner of Lahser just north of 9 Mile. It's just open for breakfast and lunch. It's a "Mom and Pop" spot. Dine in and carry out are both available. I usually get carry out. The lady or ladies (depending on the day) are always pleasant. Not much of an ambiance just clean tables and chairs and mostly people who work close and seniors eating. My go to is the fried egg sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and American cheese on Texas toast. Chili cheese fries are good. The chicken pita is one of my favorites. Big, open, CLEAN space inside with booth and some table seating generally for 2-4 people per/table. I did see one bigger table that would seat 6 persons along the window though. One wall television at low volume (thank goodness!) on this morning. It felt inviting with friendly staff: singular and double diners seated reading and quietly conversing. A good place for locals. We were seated immediately, and given iced water and menus. Orders were taken for breakfast shortly thereafter. Everything came out fresh, hot and pleasantly plated. My glass of milk was ice cold and good. My scrambled two-egg muffin sandwich was bland to my palate, so do be aware that you may want to order cheese with it, or use the salt and pepper. The English muffin was barely toasted or buttered, so i would likely order the sandwich on toasted bread next time. My butter grits side was served piping hot, and after adding sugar (sugar substitute was NOT on the table) it was great. My companions seemed to enjoy their breakfasts. I met a friend for breakfast at Stackerz. She lives nearby and eats here often. The first visit was four stars. The pancakes and bacon were cooked well and that led to my second visit. The breakfast was a disappointment on this visit. Everything was basic and average tasting. I wasn't wowed and neither was another friend who was with me this time. Its a decent place. I've had way better deli stuff but it tastes consistently ok to good and won't kill the wallet. It was popular with my coworkers for awhile then we all sort of just stopped eating here. I think the main problem is the hours. They are only open 7 til 4. We work a crazy schedule and that 4 cutoff kind of sucks. We have limited time on our break and carryout can also be slow. Ordering ahead we would find items incorrect or extra things asked for missing. This sucks in our situation. The sandwiches are good but not deli style huge. Both corned beef and turkey were happyish. Salads were nice when there were not dressing issues like forgetting extra or getting the wrong kind. The breakfasts were tastyish and filling. What a pleasant surprise! This is one of those places that you drive by 1 million times and never stop in because it doesn't look like much. In fact, at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning I was the only customer who was not getting takeout. Coffee was very flavorful and fresh, scrambled eggs extra creamy, meats were generous, and I love a crisp tomato slice. Also Jewish rye thick and chewy. Used to be a very Jewish deli! Owner was very friendly and willing to talk to me about the history of the place and I will be coming back and recommending this to others. Well done! One of my 2 favorite local places....I can eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch and dinner...omelettes to be more specific...and I've never gone wrong stopping here on a weekend. Most of the time i go the carry out route, but I've eaten in a few times. I stumbled upon this deli after getting an item from the nearby Walgreens on the corner. I am glad that I did. The exterior is kind of boring and hidden between a Metro PCS and a liquor store but inside the door, the cozy interior is exactly what you would expect in a family-owned, diner-style restaurant. Nothing flashy or trendy here, just a clean decent place. In terms of food, don't come here expecting massively piled $15 deli sandwiches, trendy small plates or anything that is out of the ordinary. However, come if you want a reasonably priced deli sandwich - I had a pastrami on rye with cole slaw, russian dressing and a new dill pickle and a bag of better mades for right about $10. It was piled just high enough to satisfy my appetite and I don't know if they make their own meats but my pastrami was not salty or greasy, it was hot, perfectly seasoned for my taste the cole slaw/russian dressing just made the sandwich complete. I don't know how I haven't been here before in 2 years of working just a mile away, but I think i've found my new go to option for a quick lunch without resorting to fast food or the packed Kerbys down the road. Basic deli options and coney island breakfast options available all day, but they do close at 3 or 4 every day. Also 1.49 coneys on Mondays and 1.49 loose burgers on Wednesdays. Make-your-own-sandwich lunches started showing up at random events at work, and they were really really good. This catering is actually the best I've ever had at work. I finally found out that they were catered by my oldie but goodie favorite from the past. I used to work down the street from Stackerz and frequented it often. This was about 6 years ago. I'm happy to say that the sandwiches are still just as good as they were back then. I'm not a deli guy, I'm just not. It sounds silly to pay someone to put a sandwich together for you, because lets be honest - there's not much to it. What is all comes down to, though, is the ingredients. You'll find sandwiches named after famous people, and they really do them justice. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the place, and I've just eaten a slew of St. Patty's Day faire! There's a Reuben they put together that is the absolute best sandwich money can buy. I could be wrong, but it may be the Al Capone. It's huge and chock full of flavor. The toothpicks just barely keep the thing together. Match that with fries and a soda and you've got yourself one heck of a filling lunch. Truth be told, Stackerz isn't too far from work still and I'll definitely be visiting it more often. A lot of dummies at work used to badmouth it all the time, but I have no idea why. Fast, friendly service. Food is always hot & fresh. Love the corned beef and the grilled chicken salads. The chicken pitas are also very good.
