One of the best coffee shops we've been to! Stopped in for a quick coffee and bite to eat. We sat outside on a hot day and had some iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich. There were so many different ways to get an iced coffee and a handful of different syrups. My wife got vanilla and I got maple cinnamon. She got the Rollo for food and I got the brioche breakfast sandwich. I could not believe how soft the brioche bin was and how flavorful her wrap was! All the workers were super friendly and all of what we ordered came out very quick

Cafe Origins is tucked right into the bustling area of Birmingham, and it's a really charming spot to stop for a coffee or bite to eat. They have a beautiful patio with plenty of seating, and I appreciated that the tables were clean and sturdy, not a wobbly one in sight. It's a small detail, but it makes a big difference when you're trying to enjoy a drink without worrying about spills. The staff was friendly and quick to bring out orders. Something I thought was interesting. They take orders on Toast devices right in the café, which isn't something I've really seen before. The baristas were super nice, and overall the service felt smooth and organized. My only small critique was that the music was a bit loud, even outside, so it was harder to fully relax or have a conversation without raising your voice a little. When I tried to grab the baristas attention when I was leaving to figure out where I should put my items, he didn't actually hear me so I think maybe slightly turning down the music would be a good idea. This is really just my preference because I'm a reader, though, so some people may have different opinions on that or not really care. The menu is diverse, with plenty of drink options and a good selection of food. I only ordered a chocolate croissant this time, but I saw several sandwiches going out to other tables and they looked like a generous portion. For my drink, I went with an iced chai tea latte. It was good--smooth and refreshing--but I personally like my chai with a stronger spice kick. A lot of places sprinkle cinnamon on top or mix it in, which I enjoy, so in hindsight I should've asked if that was an option. That's more on me than the café, though. Overall, a cozy and well-run spot in a great location. I'd come back, especially to try one of the sandwiches or explore more of the drink menu, maybe on a slightly quieter afternoon.

My first visit here, and definitely not my last. This might just be my new favorite spot for coffee in Birmingham. They offer much more than just great coffee, including ice cream, baked goods, and sandwiches. The fact that they have several halal options is a big plus. I tried the affogato, and it was absolutely delicious, rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I'll definitely be back for it again soon. On top of that, the barista was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great service goes a long way!

Nice spot for a good cup of coffee and hanging out with family. I came here a few weeks ago while visiting mom and sister over Mother's Day weekend. We spent one of the days exploring the area and came across this shop. We enjoyed some pastries, ice cream, and coffee. It's bright and spacious, lots of plants and a very pleasant atmosphere. Good value for money, Service was prompt and friendly. I would return. @azfitfoodfun

Perfect new little bistro in Birmingham. The staff was so patient and friendly, even when the place was busy. They brought out our food and accommodated all kinds of small requests with a smile. Delicious vanilla bean latte in the most amazing glass cups. I tried the morning roll with eggs, avocado and bacon. Very good and filling. Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu.

I've been here a few times and it's been on point each time. The food is excellent and surprisingly very light in a good way. The staff was super nice with quick service. Plenty of places to sit as well.

I go here a lot and have tried lots of different things on their menu and have never been disappointed! Everything is fresh and made thoughtfully. The quiche is my favorite quiche in this world and doesn't to be changed at all! Please don't change it! I really do think this is the best cafe in the Detroit area and it's just not the food it's also the staff that make it such a nice experience. My go tos are the: Tuna melt add fresnos - it's sooo delicious if you love tuna melts. Applewood smoked bacon quiche - I rave about this quiche/ it's perfect/ no notes ( please don't get rid of it) Pistachio latte- best I've had!! Orange carrot fresh juice- they make it fresh and it's so energizing and delicious. If you are in the area stop it- everything from salads, sandwiches, and pastries is phenomenal.

My new favorite place to eat! Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner - they got it all covered! Lamb rollo is my favorite! Chicken one is Really good too. Don't want it as a roll up? No problem - turn it into a salad or a rice bowl. Quiches are yummy as well. This place has a very ethically diverse menu which pays homage to different cultural cuisines. I love that in the summer you can eat outside- with potted palm trees, sun umbrellas and music playing outside- it gives the place Floridian vibe (minus the ocean) . Finish your meal with a cup of coffee and a gelato.

Loved this little cafe! When you walk in, there was someone taking your order. Polite staff. Very easy to see the menu and decide what you want - with tons of options! Coffee taste/flavor was so good - I got their cold brew. I also got a quiche to go and they packaged it so cutely with silverware, a plate, etc. I'll be back!

The nuns are welcoming and happy to answer your questions. There's a good selection of sweet and savory selections. My companions enjoyed a mushroom crepe and apple pie. Being GF the selection was limited to two kinds of cake and creme brulee which is not my ideal choice for breakfast. Just keep that in mind if you have dietary restrictions. Otherwise everything was tasty. There are also religious souvenirs/gifts sold on premises as well as some food items such as jams and pickles.

Lots of pastry items on display, packaged cookies, religious section too. The bakery goods and pastries don't look so good in person. Took a pass. Grabbed a small green tea (Steep) and a large oat milk latte. Their large coffee comes with two espresso shots, added one more shot. $11.77 All ingredients are organic. The green tea is super hot, really needs two sleeves. Took the top off to cool down the scalding water some. My husband said his oat milk latte isn't so good, he said he's good if we never come back at all. He was confused how a simple drink could come out so badly. My green tea tastes like Lipton, no hint of green tea flavoring to me.

I think the cold brew is great as they always have rotating flavors for the foam- I got the lemon honey cold foam and it was delicious! Knocking off a star tho as it's an up charge for cold foam added to the cold brew charge ($6.00 for 12 oz I believe). Pretty sure I got up charged for no reason! I also love the carrot cake cupcake here (what's up doc it's called, I believe). I usually get one mini which is $2.25. They also sell Blakes jams here which are super tasty and beat the Whole Foods/ other brands! I recommend trying the Blake's triple jam. Highly recommend coming here for quality eats and the mini muffins are delish!

Was there in early June and the coffee and service were both good, as was the savory pastry I got. The main issue with this place is the noise... not for the usual reason in coffeeshops where they play music too loud, but it's a raucous and busy place, which speaks well of the business. But far worse than noisy conversation there's this bell on both the front and back entrances that plays a little five note electric tune every time someone comes in or leaves... Why is it there? Why is it needed? The fact that only a few people have noted it here perhaps speaks more of our noise-polluted lives than anything else, but it's maddening as this thing goes off literally every minute or more, constant, tintinnabulations of the bell, bell, bell, bell, bell... There was an employee taking a break on his phone listening to YouTube videos out loud, too... I guess we're all just so used to this now. So if you want a quiet cafe to get work done, this ain't it. Maybe it's more of a Central Perk scene, with people meeting socially, all who liked the place before it became cool.
