This place was ok... The cafe was super cute and decorated really nicely. The drinks weren't good. I got the pistachio matcha latte (March 15th, 2026 - late post), and I couldn't finish it. Ordering was also not that best experience. She had read back to us our order which was correct but then came up to us later and said she accidentally overcharged us for a few things so that didn't make sense. This is a really chill location with a very minimalist design. It seems it took a while for the location to get up and running (I saw the coming soon sign for a while driving past) and you can tell they really tried to curate the location to be a relaxing, work-friendly environment. Just as a note - if you're coming here to work for a few hours, not every seat has outlets. For example, the round booth seating didn't look to have any. I came in at ~10am-ish and they didn't seem to be suuuppperrr busy. There was still a ton of seating available. The outside patio also looked clean and taken care of, which I think is nice since some places will neglect the patio seating. I ordered an almond croissant and an iced brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk. I can say the espresso was definitely strooooonnngggg, which I admittedly liked a lot. Some coffee shops really overload their drinks with sugar and it didn't really seem that they did that. I also couldn't tell for sure and I forgot to ask, but it looked like they made house syrups, which I think is great because I really hate paying for a latte that just uses Torani or Monin syrups, which is something I can just make at home. The menu was also pretty expansive and offered some Yemeni coffee options which I think is unique to this Ferndale area and offers something you'd have to drive 15-20 minutes for depending on where you live. First place that we had our eyes on when going through Ferndale, and unfortunately the last place we went to. I say unfortunately because I always like to save the best for last, and I truly thought this would be it, but it's not. It's still good though. The service was quite nice, telling me updates on my order every second they got. I felt like we were being watched so I moved tables to the corner, and first locked into my Pistachio Caramel Cake, sorry if I butchered the name. It was easily the best thing we ordered, I loved the crumbly, melting sensation of the cake itself and the light delicious frosting. I say light because I truly think cake doesn't need that much sweetness to be great, I have a pet peeve for overly sweet frosting on cakes. Which brings me to the Biscoff Cheesecake, which is the most sugar-rotted cake I have tried in a minute. I felt physically ill after eating this, I felt like I was in a sugar coma. Easy on the calories, please! It took a while for my White Chocolate Matcha Latte, which was packed with zero sugar chocolate and barely any matcha. I didn't appreciate the loose powder on top of the ice, which I usually like, but on ice? Really? The ratio of tastes doesn't expand into anything I've tried here. Too sweet, too bland. Too little, too much. So overall, I can't appreciate much about this place other than its visual appeal and hospitality. 3/5 edit- October 18th 2025 After talking a little bit with owner of the place through Yelp, I actually realized I've made a mistake. The "White Chocolate Matcha" is not actually a white chocolate matcha, it doesn't even exist on the menu. In reality, I got a Pistachio Cream Latte, which in retrospect was in fact the drink that I got from Qahwati that day. My critique of the Latte temporarily cancels out until the next time I go. Attractive environment, though they had the music turned up quite loud the last time I was there. Pastries are frequently not fresh but good when they are. Despite having several different cold brew-based drinks on their menu, they actually have cold brew coffee only about 50-60% of the time. Yemeni coffee drinks are good and there isn't another shop close by that offers them. All in all, could be great, but the lack of consistency means they'll always be a second or third choice when there are other coffee shops in town that pretty much always hit the mark. read more

After waiting more than a year for this location, the excitement was through the roof! Upon walking in you're greeted with beautiful interior design and natural light that warms you from the inside out. The service is very kind, quick to greet with a smile. Offering suggestions of the menu that are truly exceptional! The downside is a pretty big one...the wait...please do not come here if you have somewhere to be or if you have plans. After mentioning the wait times, they did not apologize but gave us back a remark that did not match the aesthetic. In all honesty it made me not want to return. How did we receive the first order in 5 minutes then continued to wait another 25 for the other 2 and continued to wait for the last order which was forgotten. When you order a beverage cold (mofawar) and don't say anything other than what size and then the worker takes money for item, you should probably serve it the way it was ordered. If you absolutely cannot make an iced coffee, you should probably declare that at time of purchase. This cafe is stunning! Clean, modern interior with a good amount of seating. Beautiful dessert and pastry displays. Smiling face greeted us at the counter. And most importantly, we had two of the best lattes we've ever had! We tried the nomad and the mirage. Not only were they beautiful, but you could tell they had fresh ingredients and were made with care. Drinks do take a little while, as they're busy and they are thoughtfully prepared. They have several people making them and everyone was focused, so the time seemed fair for what we were getting. We can't wait to go back. Such a good experience! read more

Where do I begin? The customer service? The atmosphere? No, I'll start with the drinks! Literally everything on the menu is so well thought out and balanced, not overly sweet, not too bitter, but perfectly delicious. I think their prices are fair considering the quality of the drinks and the upscale vibe. The baristas are so friendly and accommodating; they take the time to answer any questions (especially since a lot of the menu items are so unique) The location is enough to rave about, but the buildout is just wow! Every detail was thought out; you just know when you're in a well-designed space and this is one! I highly recommend giving this place a try! The Mirage latte (hot or iced) is such an incredible experience, and their refreshers are so good! Another favorite of mine is the matcha! Specifically the iced strawberry matcha. I'd be remiss to not mention the seasonal menu...I've tried almost everything they put out and they never miss! The drinks are single-handedly made with specialized specific care to pinpoint each flavor profile of each drink. They have lots of selections, and the problem is figuring out which one to order since every single one sounds absolutely delicious. I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake limited edition summer drink, and was pleasantly surprised by the multidimensional nature of the drink (cookie crumbles at the bottom added an unexpected texture!) I came here for the first time after awaiting its opening for almost a year and I'm really excited to have a new coffee spot that serves such unique drinks and vegan options. The decore is really open and cool. I like the vantage point of 9 mile and Woodward because I grew up coming here and this intersection feels significant and historical to me. I also love how patient the staff is. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and they were very patient with me and checked everything for sunflower for me. I'm absolutely amazed that I've found a spot that has vegan and sunflower-free treats I can have, specifically the vegan lava cake, so that's really exciting! read more

Not horrible but very average. I've had espresso here and some cold drinks. The espresso was smooth but not outstanding compared to better shops. They have pourovers on the menu but apparently don't know how to make them or don't have the gear yet. Baked goods are likely brought in from somewhere and taste very store bought. When you order here people act very confused and it takes about 3 people to figure out if a customer's order is ready and where it is supposed to go. They need a better system in place - it's just comical. Compared to other coffee shops in the area, this place needs some improvement. I really hope they do improve as the location is great and extended hours are nice. read more

Just wow. I'm honestly blown away. I got the Iced Miraj, Dubai chocolate frap and a brown sugar shaken espresso and was really impressed. The color of my espresso was a bit on the light side which was alarming at first but as soon as I took a sip it ended up being great!
