Wellll, let me tell you. I thought I registered for the event at the Ferndale location, and had been looking forward to visiting this bakery... So, I didn't register, but of course I made a purchase well, purchases. I bought 1 oatmeal raisin cookie, 1 chocolate cupcake, 2 Blake's donuts annnnd 1 scoop of butter pecan ice cream in a waffle cone. It was very nice when I walked in, the space was clean, the deliciousness was beautifully displayed. It was good to see so many of Blake's Apple Orchard items for sale here. It was kind of quiet, well after the family (father? and 2 children left) nice place to sit and enjoy your goodies, scroll, etc. When I came on Yelp to write my review, I noticed there's one in Grosse Pointe, MI. They won my whole heart with the PUPCAKES!!!! Any time I can bring a treat home for my Rottweiler puppy, I will!!! We purchased a mix of items to sample two different types of cheesecake, some ini cupcakes cookies and of course the pup cake. My fur baby devoured it. We went for a yelp event for the cupcakes and they were very good. I love the mini size. I have to say I think their donuts are the star of the show. They have a cinnamon sugar donut with cinnamon icing that is so good. It's like cider mill donuts all year long. read more

I just now realized when looking up Bakehouse 46 that it is affiliated with Blake's! I had noticed that they offer Blake's products in store, but I hadn't put that together until now. The sandwiches are good- I wasn't sure about cream cheese on a vegetable breakfast bagel sandwich, but you know what? It was good! And the orchard grilled cheese is also delightful. The shop is very chic and the cupcakes / baked goods are beautiful to look at, and delicious as well. Hard to walk by and pass up at least getting a mini cupcake! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is ample seating with air conditioning. There is paid street parking and a parking garage behind the building. I have been coming to this and other locations for years! Today was the worst time I've ever had. Not busy my family and I walk in no greeting at all rather annoyed they had to help us. I had to ask if it was okay to ask them to grab something then I asked two questions about the items. I got I don't know and we don't talk to other locations. So not sure if the owner was trying to teach the kids a lesson which only thought me don't let them experiment non manners on me. I wouldn't have bought the items but limited options left us getting almost nothing along with them not wanting to help my kids. So not sure what was off but this was my last time at the Ferndale location also if your gf don't get the new stale tasting wet as all get out doughnut. read more

Was doing some shopping in Ferndale and decided to pop in and give this place a try with my daughter and was happy that I did. The place was very nice. It was clean with subtle decor and has lots of space. It was not too busy and we got served quickly. The barista was friendly and polite. We got our drinks pretty quick. I just had a green tea and my daughter had a slushy cider that she really enjoyed. There were also a lot of baked goods to choose from too. From your traditional doughnuts to delicious looking cupcakes. They did have a vegan option for some of the cupcakes too which is nice for my plant based friends out there. TLDR : if you're looking for a quality cupcake for you or your pup with a lot of flavors to taste, you found the right spot! We usually come here to get the mini cupcakes and sample all the different flavors before deciding exactly which cupcake we'd like. They have so many flavors that are ever changing with the season and let me tell you they always have something that will suffice. Upon entering, you will see the facility is very clean and the decor on the inside is very relaxing. The service is normal of what you would find, but I really do like the packaging of the cupcakes. If you get six they come in a designated tray. However, if you only get one or two, they flip a plastic container upside down to make it easier for transport That also helps for the removal when you are ready to dine in.
