Ferndale location is in a plaza with a couple other restaurants, looks nice inside and they have some board games, good place to hang out. They were busy but still did a good job of managing customers, ice cream was yummy
I ordered the single scoop of the coffee sugar cookie ice cream and it was to die for!! This flavor was so unique and all of the flavors in general on the menu were super cool and different from your typical ice cream place. The staff was very friendly and it was located in a super cute street pavilion store with plenty of seating and great vibes as a whole. I will definitely plan to come back next time I'm in the ferndale area- such a unique place!
Service was fast. Ice cream good. But it was confusing. Seemed like maybe three businesses in one location. Really not enough eating which is odd for such a large space. Back area was being set up for a special dinner with maybe a pop up? Loved they had games and cards and a nice outdoor option if weather had been nice.
This is a cute little icecream shop that shares a space with a sandwhich shop and a coffee shop. There is a lot of seating inside with cute little books to look through. The ice cream shop offers a unique blend of different flavors. I tried the cookie monster which is vanilla ice cream dyed blue with cookie dough. They also hbae some desserts such as cheese cake, brownies, oreo puffs, and chocolate covered desserts. They also have bread pudding available on Sundays. I got an oreo puff in my dessert. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because I showed up at 1pm as the first customer. It took 25 minutes for the oreo to be ready. I did love that it was warm and fresh but I was quoted 14 minutes by one staff and the other said it should actually only be 8 minutes. 25 minutes isnt too bad for a fresh batch but some customers may not want to wait that long.
I like this place honestly. My son and I stopped here after a movie for a treat he ordered a strawberry milkshake . The shop looks super cute. It had a Little line for a Sunday but worth it the service was two very nice ladies . We will be returning and recommend you stop in for something sweet and tasty.

Went here yesterday with my family. It's a pretty large shop, honestly one of the biggest ice cream shops I've ever been in. They were out of a lot of stuff and just threw sticky notes on the screen to signify. They allow each guest 3 samples and have numerous signs reminding you of it. Felt tacky to me. But they have really cool offerings - things like ketchup and jalapeño and salted pretzel. I tasted both and liked them more than I expected to, but I ended up getting the fruity pebbles and the salted butterscotch on a fruity pebble cone. I opted for the 1/2 scoops and they were HEFTY - and I loved it. Definitely get a bang for your buck. What I didn't like was how my scoops were placed on my cone all lopsided. I had to ask for a cup, otherwise I'm sure my ice cream would have fallen off and hit the ground. We ate inside and it seemed like no one was coming out and wiping down the tables after guests as most of them were sticky & drippy. The experience definitely wasn't bad and they kept a line, so people seem to love it. I'd come back.
Are you looking for a cool treat? I stopped into the new Grosse Pointe location to try the Mexican Chocolate ice cream flavor & ended up tasting at least 5 different flavors! Great customer service! After trying the flavors I was interested in, 2 more were recommended. This was a fun experience! I'm happy with the 3 pints deal! Check them out! There's paid street parking along Mack Ave.

It's been a while since my wife and I had been to Treat Dreams. Although the interior has changed they are still serving up delicious ice cream. The interior reminds me of the Rust Belt market with art and local goods for sale. The service was friendly ish, though I couldn't help be feel like they were upset we had come in and asked for some ice cream. Their Kookie Monster ice cream is always a winner and I decided to mix it up with their pumpkin pie to round out my ice cream nacho sundae. This included whip cream and some waffle "chips". Overall, it was a delicious dessert. The wife has the brownie sundae which was good but was a large serving and could have been for two people (we did not finish it).

They're were only a few ice cream flavors available. I tried the red velvet and it tasted like basic chocolate ice cream and had ice pieces in it. The other flavors were all fairly standard. They did have a few vegan options which is nice. I thought about checking out some of the other desserts but the display racks were mostly empty which was surprising because I stopped by around noon. The only options were some macaroons, dessert cups that looked like mostly cream and frosting, and a couple small cheesecake slices that looked like they'd been there for some time. Was really expecting more.
Nice place, really cool ambience inside. Staff was friendly as well. They've got quite a few options and seem to rotate through some new flavors as well. Some don't seem to turn out as nice as others though. Value wise, I also think there's better options. But not horrible by any means!
Treat Dreams is an ice cream lover's dream come true. They have the most creative rotating weekly flavors I've seen in metro Detroit. Their vegan ice cream is out of this world ever since they changed their base from rice milk to coconut and pea protein. It's so creamy and the best vegan ice cream I ever had. Follow Treat Dreams on social media where they post their updated weekly flavors. Occasionally they have bizarre flavors like Lobster Bisque, Lemon extra Virgin Olive Oil and Bacon. Lol. They are most famous for their Kookie Monster flavor...a nostalgic blue color that's favorite of both kids and adults. You can find their food truck at various events in the area, food truck rallies at the Royal Oak Farmers Market and Urbanrest Brewing Co. Treat Dreams now shares its space with 4 other food vendors in Ferndale's first food hall called Pavilion Street Market. They also sell their ice cream by the pint and i'm kicking myself I didn't get any during my last visit to enjoy at home. read more

I've been here twice for ice cream recently. It's paid parking except on Sundays. The venue offers a wide variety of seating from comfy couches to booths and high top tables. Service is excellent and the flavors I have tasted are exceptional. The vegan options are oat based and they change their flavor options often, so there are always new things to taste. Stop here if you're looking for a delicious treat or dessert! read more
I have had ice cream from their food truck and also their brick & mortar location (that they share with Hero or Villain). I absolutely love their Kooky Monster flavor: blue vanilla ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough. The ultimate cookies & cream flavor! Not overly sweet and the sandwich version of this is amazing too (sandwiched between two soft chocolate chip cookies). I also tried the root beer flavor and it tasted like I was eating a delicious root beer float! And I've had the cherry marshmallow flavor which was great: it didn't taste artificial and the marshmallow was a nice touch. It's cool how they have all these unique flavors and I'd love to keep coming back to try more! read more

Always liking to try different ice cream places so stopped in. I was going to have 1/2 scoop of their very unique flavor ice cream choices. Until I spotted the scoop-able cheesecake. What!?! That was it. I ended up with the Cookie Monster Cheesecake. It was sooo good. I'm glad I only got 1/2 scoop because it would've been too much for me. They have a neat selection of baked goods and pies if you aren't in the mood for ice cream. Service was very good. Also if you want to help decorate their Christmas trees, you can ask for the supplies. That was pretty cool! Sorry about the photo. I was having a small episode of ice cream withdrawal. I needed door dash assistance and treat dreams was the first to pop up. First up the Cookie Monster Sammy (ice cream sandwich) it was good. I just wish we had options on the cookie for the Sammy. I did not really want the Chocolate crumbles /chocolate topping that come with this cookie. Not a huge chocolate fan, but there was no option to use something else. I got a scoop of strawberry lemonade sorbet. I was skeptical about how much was in their "scoop" but it was plenty. Nice palate cleansing flavor exactly what I was hoping for. My first experience with treat dreams was really good. I will be back read more

While on a weekend getaway with my family from Louisville in the Detroit area after a long day of attraction gazing we decided to grab an ice cream from a local Parlor. After scouring the yelp reviews and photos of local places "treat dreams" stuck out to us. The cookie Ice cream sandwiches is what drew us in. Particularly the kooky monster one with the blue ice cream got my kids attention. So we pooped the coordinates in the ole gps. The shop itself is in a pretty neat neighborhood. Lots of bars, places to eat and unique store fronts. Was pretty busy road on a Saturday night. We street parked down the road and hiked the rest of the way. The inside was very large and spacious. We approach the counter and i immediately inquire about the kookie monster treat. Asked the important question "what is the blue ice cream". It was Superman flavored. Boom the kids were sold. We got 2 of the kookie monsters for 2 of my 4 kids. I also got a cookie treat which was mint chocolate chip ice cream with double chocolate cookies as the "bread" for the sandwich. The cookie sandwich's all came pre made and was in containers inside a freezer. My wife got a red velvet cupcake Ice cream scoop and my two youngest shared a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a bowl (because after 4 kids you know that you don't want none of the mess a cone brings). The cookie ice cream sandwiches were great. Mine was at least. One of my daughters liked her kooky monster a lot and the other said it was just ok. But it was hard for her to bite because it was a large bite for a small mouth. So I'm thinking that was a factor. The youngest two ate most of the chocolate and my wife enjoyed her red velvet. Service we received was solid and pricing was a bit on the high side. Which may have to do with the area. Seemed like a busy part of town so maybe had spiked prices from that. Have hear a lot of good things about Treat Dreams and wanted to give it a try. They have an overwhelming amount of ice cream flavors (over 20) and their most popular are in the top four spots. I asked the worker which be recommended and he said the Kooky Monster. So I ordered the Kooky Monster ice cream in a cup - it's vanilla ice cream (dyed blue) with Oreos and cookie dough chunks in it. Overall the ice cream was good but nothing I would go out of my way for. Flavor wise, didn't taste any different than what you'd buy at the super market. read more
This is truly an Emporium and much larger than its Midtown sister. There are countless options of sweets and treats including monstrosities like the stuffed cookies and cream that I ordered. Stuffing a sugar-bomb cookie with even more sugar overloaded my senses. I probably shouldn't have eaten the entire thing in one sitting, as it was enough to provide dessert for a family of four. This place is definitely a good option for dessert-seekers. Order from the extensive menu and enjoy the spacious booths in the well-lit shop. Next time, I'll go for something more traditional, but I appreciate the assortment present! read more

Treat Dreams is a solid hard-pack ice cream place in metro Detroit! I love that their flavors rotate too, and they always throw in some fun and seasonal flavors! I tried the Kookie Monster flavor which was great and had HUGE chunks of cookie dough! My fiancé tried the Mac and cheese and sweet potato ice cream and enjoyed them both. I sampled both of his scoops, and the flavors weren't my thing, but to each his own! . My only complaint is that the ice cream was too cold and solid. I know it sounds weird and counter intuitive, but we had to wait almost 10 minutes to eat our scoops before it was comfortable and we could actually taste the flavors and scoop out pieces. I would definitely come back and try some new flavors next time I'm in town. read more
4 years later which means Treat Dreams gets another updated review from me! Went here with a coworker friend yesterday, we did Como's for pizza and then came here. If you have the Entertainment book or app, they have a coupon for BOGO, which was a great deal ... about $3.80 total for two 1-scoop ice creams. My friend ordered the Blueberry Donut ice cream, and I ordered the vegan Death by OREO, since I was trying to be nice to my stomach after the pizza. I'm just going to say it ... their vegan ice cream is not that great. It's made with rice milk, and every time I've had it, it's been kind of icy-tasting (more so than its dairy counterpart). Death by OREO was still tasty, because it was very chocolate-y, but my friend's Blueberry Donut was much better. Browndog in Farmington/Northville (two locations) does vegan ice cream with coconut milk, and it's a lot better than the rice milk ice cream I've had from here. That being said, you can try as many ice creams as you like before ordering, and all of the dairy ice cream I've had here has been fantastic. They did a Yelp event here a while back too which was also a great time. They recently updated the shop, too, and rebranded as "Treat Dreams Dessert Emporium," and the shop looks pretty nice. They still get 4 stars from me because the dairy ice cream is delicious. You can also buy ice cream by the pint, and they have some ridiculous things too like a 5 pound cookie sandwich ($42, or $44 for vegan), as well as some normal-sized cookie sandwiches too (and stuffed cookies, which looked tasty!). Treat Dreams has been on my yelp list to try for years now! I'm from Ann Arbor so this isn't the most convenient place for me. However, my boyfriend lives in Royal Oak so I'm thinking, HOW HAS HE NOT TAKEN ME HERE YET?! Seriously, we're gonna have a talk when he gets home because this is unacceptable.. Treat Dreams was that good! I came here and tried the Kooky Monster ice cream and was able to feel like a kid again. This perfect scoop of cookies a cream ice cream with blue food coloring really hit the spot. Their flavor selection for ice cream was incredible, I mean seriously, coffee donut, blood orange vodka, and root beer? It can't get much better I am so excited to try more! The new dessert emporium is very neat looking! The lighting and new design is impressive. I came tonight with a friend and we were excited to try the flights as there were so many new options. We both planned to try 3 flights: ice cream, cookie dough and cake. They also had some crazy new flavors of ice cream, lobster bisque and dirty martini. My friend asked for her flights in a separate container so she could take some to go. I watched them serve her and thought the portions were huge. Full piece of cake. Big scoops of everything. When it came to my turn, I got cookie dough and ice cream. My cookie dough portion was significantly smaller than hers but enough. We went to pay and they told her that her items were all full size. There was a huge line so she paid. She was not pleased at her $15 bill. I was relieved that I got the flight size portions as asked for, and the ice cream was a pretty good size. It is a pretty good deal to try things for $2 per item. The d'vine cookie dough tasted differently than when I had it last in the rust belt market. Not very tasty. It was crunchy in a way something not mixed enough is. Glad to get the smaller portion! The workers there seemed a bit confused. I could definitely tell ice cream was what they were used to serving. Everything else seemed confusing to them. Maybe there were just too many new people. The line behind us was extremely long. read more
We have been coming to Treat Dreams for ages. I love it here. It's amazing. I didn't think it had been that long since I last came here, but today I realized they had completely transformed the place. They've updated the seating, added a cookie dough bar, and an amazing looking baked goods section, plus bags of popcorn, cotton candy, crispy treats, and so much more. I was completely stunned and impressed! We originally wanted a brownie ice cream sandwich but we were told they don't do that anymore. My daughter was upset, so we looked at the cookie ice cream sandwiches. Then we realized they can customize them. Problem solved. My daughter had the double chocolate cookies with kooky Monster ice cream and cider and donut ice cream. I had one cookies and cream cookie and one double chocolate cookie with kooky Monster ice cream and dark chocolate salt ice cream. Let's just say they were ginormous!!! So amazing and so shareable had we known we would have just ordered one. Wow! This is a destination ice cream cookie must have experience! This ice cream parlor deserves recognition for the best ice cream cookie sandwiches in Michigan hands down! They even offer ice cream flights now. My husband ordered two half scoops and a peanut topping. The prices here are good and portions are outrageous! It's a great value for the family. They have so many flavors to choose from for a variety of dietary preferences. I love the ability to customize and get half scoops. I'm glad that the remodeling didn't take away from their generous business model, which seems to provide the customer with a delicious experience. The ice cream here is top quality. It's absolutely one of the best in Michigan. I would love to come back and try one of their cake slices with a scoop of ice cream. read more

Cute little shop that's has a lot of great products! The ice cream is delicious, big fan of the kooky monster-blue ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough. It smells great inside, like fresh baked cookies and waffles cones. There are also cartons to take home and some other locally made items-zingerman's candy bars, guilt chocolate, and Dave's sweet tooth! Definitely need to go back for the hot chocolate and much more! read more
