tl;dr cafe vibe is cute and well done, service was polite but only somewhat helpful, and food was just very mediocre I placed my order online and debated on getting coffee, as their branding boldly proclaims "stupid good coffee," but ultimately decided against it, since I was already committed to the milk bread egg sando and half a dozen bagels. Bagels: As a big fan of Apollo Bagels in NYC, I'm no stranger to waiting in an absurdly long line for sourdough bagels. I so so SO desperately wanted these bagels from Mad Nice to be good. They absolutely were not it. They were small, thin, and overly chewy. Milk Bread Sando: Having never had the chance to go to Dang Wen Li, I was excited to try this at Mad Nice. While the egg itself was indeed custardy, there was nothing katsu about it. There was no panko breading on the egg, it was not deep-fried, and the milk bread not evenly toasted. Experience: I placed my order online. I opted for the half a dozen bagels, but there was nowhere for me to select which bagels or what kind of cream cheese I wanted. There wasn't no special instructions box at checkout either. When I got to the cafe, there was a line of people waiting to order and a small crowd waiting for their drinks. Everyone was understandably busy, so I waited about 5-10 minutes until there was a good time for me to ask someone about my order. Finally, one person was opening a new pack of cups, so I asked if I could get some help with my online order. I explained to her that there was no way for me to select what I wanted and she empathized, "It seems like there should be a way to pick your bagels..." and stood there looking at me. It was only when I asked her, "Is there someone I could talk to about my order?" that she said she'd go in the kitchen and ask. Unfortunately for me, a guy standing near the counter asked her about his drink order before she could go into the kitchen and that was enough to make her forget she was helping me at all. Wanting to be patient and understanding, I ended up waiting another 10 minutes and was about to say something when the person bringing out the food orders brought mine out. When I asked him about being able to pick my bagels, he said he gave me a little bit of everything, and asked me what I wanted. I asked if I could have 2 Gruyère, 2 salt, and 2 sesame and he said he could do that for me. He handed me the cream cheese and napkins he had put in the bag and left to take the bagels back into the kitchen. He already left, so I didn't have the heart to tell him that I actually wanted chive cream cheese and not plain, so I just accepted the plain. -- While everyone seemed nice and were definitely busy getting orders out, ultimately the food I tried was not worth returning for. The online ordering experience was also sub-par. I am very unlikely to return to Mad Nice Coffee, will not be recommending this to friends and family, and am now also extremely hesitant to ever visit the restaurant in Detroit.

I went here today for the first time while shopping and there was surprisingly no line and my drink came very fast. The staff was extremely friendly, very aesthetically pleasing, and the coffee was delicious. I got an iced honey vanilla latte.

This is the 3rd coffee shop that's opened in this location - hoping this one sticks around! The coffee was good - 20 oz iced oat latte for $6 is a steal! Check them out.

I am always excited for a new coffee place, and the aesthetic is cozy and modern with pops of soft green and pink decor! They were very busy (to be expected for a Saturday before Christmas) but the staff was friendly and kept the line moving consistently. I took the barista's advice and ordered a hot pistachio latte. I didn't taste a lot of pistachio flavor until closer to the end so I'm thinking it just needed a good stir. I substituted for oat milk and they do not charge which was a nice touch; however, I can't say I was all that enthused for $7 small latte. After going to their Mad Nice restaurant in midtown and experiencing their incredible gelato, I was SO excited to have it again with the delicious candied pistachio, chocolate shavings, and sprinkles. We both agreed it was tasty but more like ice cream and not the same intensely creamy gelato texture that we loved from the restaurant. Maybe they use a different machine than the fancy imported Italian gelato machine.

not as advertised egg sando.

the egg katsu sando is literally falsely advertised. we got a piece of toast with egg and cheese that I could've made at home for like $2. overpriced and bland.

They're definitely busy, so a little patience goes a long way the staff is doing their best! The bagels were delicious, though a bit too crisp on the ends which made them slightly tough to bite into. The toppings were great, and the place itself is beautiful with plenty of seating. Lots of coffee and bagel options to choose from too!

A bit of background on my obsession on coffee, I am not an individual that drinks a cup of joe with 500 syrups and 80 cups of milk and say "this is the best coffee EVER!" If it's my first time getting coffee from a coffee shop, I will get a plain black coffee. Therefore, I ordered black iced coffee, which had a good balance in flavors. As for a second coffee, I ordered the Iced Cafe Miel Latte with oat milk. This drink was very good and there was an even ratio between coffee and milk, not too sweet too. Originally, I wanted to grab my coffee and sit inside the coffee shop (from the view outside, the shop looked pretty and modern) but there was no parking spots and the parking lot is beyond small but I did see folks park in the establishment next door and walk over. The drive thru is narrow but the wait time was a bit long and the person at the drive thru didn't seem enthusiastic. Overall, I did enjoy the coffee but I do not see the hype. It basic coffee, nothing that stands out from the rest. I must say the coffee was a bit overpriced, it did not match the quantity. Would I recommend this place to others? I would, only if you're in the area. I wouldn't drive out of my way (20 min) to grab a coffee from this spot.

Ordered a cookie butter latte with oat milk ($0.75) and a spicy mango lemonade less the spice refresher. $15.64 The table we are seated at is wobbly. The cookie butter latte tastes like Bischoff cookie. The flooring looks rough in here. May need something more durable, gives it a run down look with the white and gold. Funny how you notice random things when your order falls short of what you expect. The refresher is so-so, tastes like mango syrup. Two odd little red stemmed items at the bottom of my drink, along with some white chunk of something too. Quite off-putting. Need darker to go containers, so you can't see all of the strange items in it. The staffer went to the back, had to wait for new costumers come for him to come back out. He mentioned the red stringy stuff is likely from a fruit puree he adds to the drink. There are still a couple of mis-placed colored floaties in the second attempt. No point in fixing what isn't possible. Second one still tastes like syrup. Their bathroom is out of order. Good thing it's most a gram and go and neither of us has to go at all. Note: Stick to the coffees here.

However after placing our order on the screen, the two iced latte drinks came out with no espresso added? I appreciate all the ways to personalize the tea and it's Good that they have non dairy drinks options!
