Wow ! This place has amazing food and such friendly service. Small, cozy, "diner." Parking is tight. It's the reverse of the tardis, looks like it would be bigger inside and it's not. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we will be reviewing the dinner service. We started with their Hawaiian fries - a lighter, tastier take in poutine. Yum! We ordered the Eddie's zip pasta which had chicken, mushrooms and broccoli in zip sauce, it came with a salad. I highly recommend this dish. We also tried their chicken Marsala which came with soup, salad and a choice of vegetable. The chicken was perfectly cooked and there was plenty of it! Tiny old school diner, with even a smaller parking lot. Menu is very old school; steak, pasta, chicken all in a variety of delicious creamy sauces. Get a seat at the counter and you get a show too. The cooks are a marvel to watch. It's like a juggling show, except with meat on various heat sources. In the time it took me to eat 1 filet, I watched them expertly prepare 4 tomahawk steaks. So to start the menu of this place was very divided. The diner vibes made perfect sense for the breakfast part of the menu but then they offer a full steakhouse Italian restaurant menu that doesn't really fit with the ambiance. I will say when trying the food they shine with the menu items that don't make sense in the counter service space. The Italian pasta dishes along with the Hawaiian chicken so delicious! The diner foods such as a club sandwich or omelette are over priced and underwhelming. The service is 10 out of 10 so attentive and friendly. I kept hearing about this place so I finally decided to stop in for some lunch. Now, I did get carry out and that maybe took a little something away from these famous Hawaiian fries. It's essentially an Alfredo sauce on steak fries. It's not that it was bad or flavorless, but it wasn't anything to come back for. I've also heard they have really good pasta here. I wasn't able to try that, but I did get the turkey club and it was pretty good. I'll have to come by again and sit down and have a proper meal here. My new absolute favorite spot for pasta! The interior isn't fancy but the food sure is. There is some table seating but I love sitting at the bar like counter where you can watch the cooks make your pasta up close and personal. The staff is friendly and attentive. Specialties here include the Eddie's creations if Hawaiian fries and chicken bites (beware they're addictive) and anything with their famous Zip sauce. And when I say they will put it on everything, I mean everything! Chicken, liver, steak shrimp (anything!) And yes, they even put the Zip sauce on pasta and it is deeelicious! They make their pasta fresh daily and serve all of traditional faves as well. There is a bar with a decent selection of cocktails. This is a little hole in the wall/gem in Oak Park. I have seen people raving about their pasta for so long, so finally decided to give it a try.
