I had heard good things about this place but was never able to get in (the establishment and parking lot are small). We started going out for breakfast earlier, so now we can get in. They have a really nice size menu and always have rotating specials that we usually get at least one. Nothing particular to recommend as we have tried many things and they are all great. Check it out for yourself.

This little diner is an excellent option for breakfast. That's the only meal I've ever eaten there so I can't speak to their lunches, but the breakfast are over the top delicious My friend got a western omelette and the size of the omelette was enormous and he got the little cubed potatoes which I believe there's a choice of like three options instead of hashbrowns and he loved those little cubed potatoes. He ended up taking half of his entire order home because there was just so much food. I got my normal eggs and toast and it was delicious. The service was great and our waitress was friendly and right on top of things at all times. The prices are reasonable and I don't believe there's much of a wait but it's a small diner so at certain times there might be a wait at certain times

Great diner with good food and quick service! Their menu is pretty extensive and portion sizes make for a hearty meal. It's a smaller restaurant inside so there's a good chance there's a short wait but it's definitely worth the wait. Overall I would 100% recommend going here for a good, quick brunch!

I did the math and this was the best omelette I've had in nine years. The service was incredible. The ambience was awesome. Everybody fit right in from individuals eating alone to families with small children. I brought my wife a week later and she loved it as well! Is definitely our favorite breakfast place in Michigan!

Such a cute place! Friendly and quick service. Huge portions on the kitchen sink omelette, the hugest omelette I've had on my life! Creative and tasty gyro Benedict. Free parking. Colorful exterior and cute woodsy interior. Try it!

A rare trip to Oakland County early Sunday morning, read dozens of reviews for places. This one jumped off the page for a very good reason . A quaint home feeling yes a real diner how cool. The theme outta the 70's grunge look, very unique. Outstanding Delicious food the Overboard Burrito OMG filled with Bacon Sausage Ham n Cheese, marvelous and cheap for the win. She had the Shroom Overload half Pound Patty Melt with Mushrooms on Both Sides of Bun and Double Cheese, so creative and fantastic. Really good fries and a cup of Italian Wedding Soup. Thanks Ms Shanny for the five star service, you rock. A full house 10am and a line out the door, Yes I know why. See all the 5 Star reviews around the web Google Yelp Instagram Facebook, truly a must visit . #oakdiner @oakdiner #diner #lowprices #creativefood #breakfastburrito #shroomoverload #royaloakmi

This cozy little diner gets super packed for brunch hours but the line moves fairly quickly! Great service and excellent food.

Since this was our first visit we didn't know what to expect but the reviews looked good. We arrived to a packed house and I was surprised how small and crammed it was inside. Dumpy is tree he word is use to describe the inside. Peeling paint and stained ceilings. Ventilation system look like it was straight out of the 70s and never maintained since then. I never thought I'd have to worry about Legionnaires disease but this is the place that stuff like that starts in. Tired, old and dingy inside. I'm not opposed to dive bars and restaurants, in fact I love them but Boodles paints themselves as upscale dining with prices to support that. It's anything but. The tables are crammed very close together and you can't help but bump into the people dining next to you to get to your table. I've been in small, intimate restaurants before with the same type of tight configurations but this was almost ridiculous. We ordered a round of drinks. A Cosmopolitan for me and an Old Fashioned for the boyfriend. The people next to us had a group of 6 and they mentioned they have been waiting for almost 2 1/2 hours for their main course. That was another bad sign. Our drinks arrived and were very lackluster. All you could taste was booze which isn't a bad thing if you were ordering it straight or just on the rocks but a steakhouse like Boodles should know how to make a quality Cosmo and Old Fashioned. We ordered the bread service which doesn't come with dinner and was an additional $6. Nothing to write home about even though they claim it's their homemade sourdough. Personally I didn't feel it was worth six dollars. We each got a Caesar salad and while the salad was a nice portion it was lacking in flavor and very little dressing. We waited for our waitress to come and check on us to ask for a side of additional dressing but she never came around. We ate the salad and finished our round of drinks. I was already skeptical on ordering a main course because everything up until this point had been a miss. Against my better judgment I ordered their signature item: Steak Diane prepared table side. My boyfriend ordered the 16 ounce ribeye. Both entrées come with a side of their lyonnaise potatoes. While we waited for our entrées we each ordered a glass of the house Cabernet. They do give a generous pour so that was a plus. After waiting almost an hour they started to prepare the Steak Diane. It was cool to watch them prepare it table side and after waiting almost an hour I was happily hungry with anticipation. I wish I could say it was halfway decent but it was overcooked. I ordered my steak medium rare in hopes that if it does come out a little more than medium rare it's still pink and flavorful. It was grey inside with no pink at all. Even the sauce it was cooked and was devoid of flavor. How is it possible with all the butter and the garlic they were using it was still lackluster? My boyfriend did say his steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was excellent. The lyonnaise potatoes were also tasty. This was the best part of the entire dining experience other than leaving. After our waitress came back to check on us I told her I was not happy with my main course and that I would like to send it back. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no thank you I'll just take the check. They did take my steak off the bill since I had only tried one bite. My boyfriend had his steak packaged up to go. We just wanted to get out of there at that point. What was surprising is nobody seemed to care or even inquire what they could do better to improve the situation. Every staff member we encountered was very nonplus which makes me think this is not an isolated incident. After paying our bill we walked by a group of people coming in for dinner. They asked us how everything was and I said well we are leaving and if you leave now you can save yourself three hours of your time only to be disappointed.

What we didn't expect was to be completely blown away. From the second we walked in, the bartender greeted us like we were regulars, and that alone sold us on sitting at the bar. Best decision. We're bar sitters through and through, and between the bartender, a friendly regular who scooted over for us, and literally every person we interacted with, the vibe was unmatched. I worked in the service industry in a former life, so I know how rare it is to find a place where everyone is friendly. There's usually at least one Debbie Downer. Not here. No rushing, great recommendations, and zero feeling like you're "that couple" taking up bar space. Drinks and beer selection were solid, but let's talk food because ambiance and service are only half the equation. We started with the coney dog egg rolls and... wow. Epic. Unique. Immediately set the bar high. Then we ordered the fish and chips and the short rib sandwich. The fish was perfectly breaded, the remoulade was on point, and those skinny fries were dangerous. But the star of the show? The short rib sandwich. Holy shit. I don't normally eat onions or horseradish, but somehow this sandwich converted me. The caramelized onions weren't overpowering, the sauce wasn't spicy, and everything just worked. We literally woke up the next morning talking about how we need it again. The bartender filled us in on happy hour and all the food options, and we're already planning our return. Total hidden gem on Woodward. Highly recommend. Thanks for a great Saturday night!

The staff is efficient, and the atmosphere is welcoming. To start, the split pea soup and onion rings are both solid choices. The soup is made in-house, and the panko-breaded onion rings were crispy and firm. I happened to dine in when lamb chops were on special. They were meaty and cooked just right. As for the burgers, Coach sources its meat from Fairway Packing Co. and its buns from Cannelle by Matt Knio. I've tried the All American and the Coach burger. The All American features standard toppings, while the Coach burger is topped with an egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, and a special sauce. Of the two, I preferred the Coach burger, though both were enjoyable. The French fries are hand cut and on the thicker side. The Cajun fries had just the right amount of seasoning, and the garlic fries were well complemented by the cotija cheese and garlic aioli. Fries are not included with any of the handhelds. For dessert, I've had the peanut butter cheesecake. It was rich, with a brownie-like crust. Coach Grille shouldn't be compared to the average bar. While the menu features typical bar food, the quality is well above the norm. Whether you come here for a burger, or something else, you won't be disappointed.

So far, I've had the Pulled Pork Brioche, Gourmet Burger, and Suicide Burger but there's more of the menu I'd like to try. My only criticism is the french fries are thick cut steak fries which aren't my preference and despite the Garlic Fries being talked up a lot, I thought they were on the bland side. If they added shoestring fries and a nice house made Caesar dressing and Chicken Caesar Salad, they'd be the perfect spot for me.
