I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. I was visiting my daughter and she took us to Oak Diner for breakfast. I had an LA Skillet with side of pancakes. It was so delicious. My daughter had a Bourbon Skillet which she loved. That's the only meal I've ever eaten there so I can't speak to their lunches, but the breakfast are over the top delicious My friend got a western omelette and the size of the omelette was enormous and he got the little cubed potatoes which I believe there's a choice of like three options instead of hashbrowns and he loved those little cubed potatoes. He ended up taking half of his entire order home because there was just so much food. I got my normal eggs and toast and it was delicious. The service was great and our waitress was friendly and right on top of things at all times. I had heard good things about this place but was never able to get in (the establishment and parking lot are small). We started going out for breakfast earlier, so now we can get in. They have a really nice size menu and always have rotating specials that we usually get at least one. Nothing particular to recommend as we have tried many things and they are all great. The best thing we tried here were the cinnamon roll pancakes; solid. But the breakfast tacos, French toast, eggs, and regular pancakes were only OK. Portion sizes here are big, so we had so much leftover hash browns that we should have cut the entire order in half. Prices were fair, service was fast, and I liked the feel of this place too. Ultimately, we thought the food quality here was fine. They had so many tasty options here - your classic continental American breakfast, skillets, omelettes, and more sweet tooth options like french toast, waffle, and pancakes. And within those categories, there's even more choices. Both of us were craving the french toast, so that's what we ended up going for. RED, WHITE & BLUE - 9.99 Two slices of fluffy french toasts (buttery, slightly sweet, yum) topped with plenty of strawberries, blueberries, and bananas, wow. The portion size was big and the food was so good. For those who aren't big sweet tooths, you can enjoy this with no syrup and it's perfect. The fruit gives it a natural sweetness with a bit of whipped cream on the side. The french toast was soft and fresh, and it didn't feel too heavy either. Where I'm from, this entree would probably be at least $18 with much less fruit. I'd highly recommend giving this a try if you like fresh fruit! My friend got the STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE french toast which he wolfed down pretty quickly. TLDR : Quick wait times, insanely clean establishment, amazing meals, PLEASE COME HERE!!! Establishment is well taken care of with insanely clean restaurant facilities. Bathrooms are well maintained with countertops that are never smudged. Same goes with their utensils. They are handed to you in a paper wrapping, which to me, is much better than getting them wrapped in a napkin. The waif staff is always attentive and helpful. I went to Oak Diner on a Saturday morning with my sister. We arrived at about 8:30 and the place was very busy already. You seat yourself so we grabbed an open table. It's very casual The menu has a variety of items and a lot of them are pretty creative. I ordered the Elvis with a side of tots and she ordered the Greek goddess eggs Benedict. We also ordered the s'mores French toast to split because we wanted to try it. The food came out quickly, and was good. The Elvis is definitely very rich, I wish there had been something to cut the richness. The peanut butter cream that was on it was good, but I wish it had been a little creamier/looser because was a little dry unless you used syrup (which sort of overpowered the peanut butter). My sister loved her eggs Benedict and thought it was very unique. The s'mores French toast was good but very very sweet. Lots of marshmallow cream and milk chocolate. The tots were nice and crispy, but could use salt. We both took home leftovers since we ordered so much. The service was great. I found the Oak Diner and we decided to go. First of all, it's one of those tiny little independent diners that I always look for when travelling. Small, friendly and a little quirky. We only looked at the breakfast side of the menu. Such interesting choices! I had a hard time deciding. I finally went with the corned beef hash and pancakes instead of toast -- as someone else mentioned, that is the best choice! I hate having to choose between potatoes and pancakes; they're not even equivalents! My sister got the farmer's omelette, and we both got iced tea. The iced tea was good, fresh, and served in large glasses. I feel bad that I accepted when the server asked if I wanted another because it turned out that I could barely finish the first! Our meals were HUGE and delicious! The hash was like hash brown potatoes with corned beef mixed in, rather than the little cubes of potatoes. It was really good, especially because it was crispy. The pancakes were really good as well -- my sister tasted them & liked them, and she doesn't really care for pancakes. She said her omelette was good as well.
