    Tacos Del Dia - Birria
    Ash P.

Cute place right on Woodward. This spot isn't talked about enough, the staff is super nice . The food is so good. Always hot and fresh, the tacos are my favorite. Just recently stopped in to pick up food for me and my son he wanted breakfast and I wanted tacos. This place is worth the stop. They have a sitting area and takeout. Not a huge place but great flavor. Only con is I wish the place was a bit larger.

Oh man are we full! We went on a Sunday night at just before 6:30 and there was one table left. We quickly ordered and then a line appeared out of thin air behind us. We ordered a few different items between the four of us. There were two orders of tacos, two orders of cilantro potatoes, chilaquiles minus eggs, wings, and then Jamaica, piña, and sandia to drink. Everything was superb. Like really really good. We had two special requests (one food allergy and one strong dislike of eggs). They were so accommodating! If you go at a busy time you'll need to be flexible, as you most likely won't get a table, but it's worth the wait.

It was time to groove on in to O.W.L.! When it's always "that" good - really- why are you still driving down Woodward?

OWL was a fun experience Went with a group of 4 for brunch and we were able to snag a table. It was VERY busy but food can out really fast. I got the chicken fried chicken and LOVED it. Such a generous portion and so decadent. I also loved their fresh juice options! 4 stars because my husband got the chilaquiles and they were pretty dry. Seems like they were missing salsa or a sauce to drench the chips. I'd go back though just for my dish!

I was really delighted by the food options they have and more importantly their quality and taste. I had the torta ahogada, and it was delicious it reminded me of how great they are as not many places offer them. My wife had the breakfast platter and it was also amazing. Prices are decent, the place is small but they are quick. I would say that most people order online or take their food rather than waiting for a spot. But if you can wait and eat it here, you will have a better experience. We'll come back when we are in the area again!

There's a doorbell that goes off constantly, which could be a little much -- but it's part of the quirkiness here. Inside is bright, colorful, and very fun, though it can get a bit loud as tables fill up. I ordered the Chiles Rellenos Queso with a Classic Michelada, and my husband had the Tortas Ahogadas with a Paloma. Everything was delicious, the cheesy filled pepper was squeaky and came with tortillas to fill with rice and beans. It was satisfying and not overly filling, our table was clear of takeout boxes, but in saying that, we didn't have room for dessert. Service was friendly -- maybe not the quickest -- but I appreciated not feeling rushed or like they were trying to flip tables. It actually got busier the longer we stayed, even on a Wednesday night.

The smashed beans are good and the enchiladas are very reliable and authentic, and I overall appreciate the effort and dedicated kinda vibe it gives off. Service is usually the same guy Every time I come in with my family, forgot his name but he's always been kind to us. Not an inherently bad restaurant overall. However, almost every single time I go to this place, I always get sick a week or less after. At first I didn't think much of it, and then it kept happening, and now it's not a coincidence anymore. I don't know what kind of germs go into making the food, and trust me I get it. I've worked in kitchens that have gotten away with a TON of stuff that the customers would revolt at if ever heard. But personally, it does make me quite nauseous thinking about how many plates have been served (not just mine) with dirty gloves. Something my grandma used to say was if you find one cockroach, thats an isolated incident. If you find one cockroach, and then found another, there's probably a lot more that you don't see. Just a thought. 2/5

Let's just say they definitely improved ! We got an order of chips and their seasonal salsa, which was roasted red pepper, and it was very flavorful and delicious. I got a hot honey burrito with beans and rice and my gf got birria tacos. Also not pictured is a marg. Hot honey burrito was a lot of food! The rice is okay, a little bland and clumps together, unlike traditional Mexican fluffy rice. Refried beans are fine. Burrito is very filled and was super sweet from the hot honey which made it a bit hard to finish, but definitely enough food, and I probably could have eaten half. Birria tacos were delish and the consumé was super rich. Margs come in different flavors but they all kinda taste the same to me so far, and they're strong. Maybe a bit too strong? Depends what your goal is with them. Service was good, a little slow for us being at the bar, but nothing to be concerned about. Trivia was fun and we'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu. Great job on menu revamp!

I had the birria tacos and I thought they were really good! The meat was super tender and the consommé was really flavorful and well seasoned, I've had some other places that were pretty watery. We sat at the bar and our bartender was super friendly and the food came out so fast we were pleasantly surprised! And trivia is always a blast with Pajama Dan.

I didn't expect the tacos to have fried tortillas, but I didn't mind. The rice and beans were perfect, and the salsas were fine. This is a clearly a popular takeout spot. I saw lots of people coming in to pick up their food and leave. However, dining in also seemed quite popular. I think it is nice to dine in since they give you complimentary chips & salsa and huge bottles of salsa to put on your tacos. The waiters also kept checking on us which was nice. However, the place is not that big or fancy, so I understand why people might prefer taking out. My only complaint is that the waitress who took our order gave us bottled water when we asked to start with water while we were deciding what to order, and she charged us for the bottled waters later. I feel like it's common sense to give free tap water when a customer asks to start with water without specifically asking for bottled water. Despite that, I would still return. I might just skip the water or specify that I want tap water.
