My sister & I had dropped my nephew & his wife off at the zoo for a Summer Sips event, so we decided to have dinner nearby. My sister suggested Jim Brady's which she'd only been to for lunch. So, she made a reservation and arrived right on time. We were seated right away. The first thing we noticed was how LOUD it was. It's good that we didn't have a lot to talk about because we couldn't really hear each other over the noise. My sister ordered the Baja fish tacos. She explained to the server that she can't have peppery spice, so they were going to leave that out of the corn elote side dish. But, it was still too peppery & spicy for her. However, she enjoyed the tacos. I ordered the Charlie Brown -- a cheeseburger with bacon, pickles, onion and tomato. It came with some nicely seasoned fries, which I gave to my sister, since she couldn't eat the corn. The burger was pretty good. We had a lot of time to kill, and we rarely order dessert, so we decided to eat only half of our entrees and get the s'mores for two. Unfortunately, they were out of those. BUT, they did have a dessert called The Temptation which looked good, so we got that instead. It was really good, really rich, and I doubt that one person could eat it alone. I liked the food much better this time than I apparently did the last time, but the noise really is deafening, which really turns me off. Clean, inviting, and classy with a nod to family, nostalgia, and fun. This was our first observation upon entering Jim Brady's on August 10th, 2025. We live about 50 miles from Royal Oak and come to the area for shopping and dining twice a year. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the next morning. I cannot remember the last time that every single thing that we ordered was top notch. From the drinks to the appetizers to the main course to the dessert. Including the friendly personable service not only from the greeter but the bartenders the manager and the chef. My wife used the word phenomenal. The kindness shown was unprecedented. My wife is not into waffles or pancakes however the carrot cake waffles featured are an old family recipe and my wife loved them and cannot stop thinking about them. The carrot cake dessert was in a class by itself. Speaking of best of... my wife says the risotto was the best she's ever had as well. The Scallops were seared and cooked perfectly. The smoked white fish dip as an appetizer was incredible too! It's sad that we live so far away but next time we're in town we are coming back. Great little spot with great service and great nightly specials and HH menu. We had a girls HH night on a Wednesday and it is 1/2 off bottles of wine all day. That, paired with their great 1/2 off shareables & apps (excluding the shrimp) was a great deal, portions were the same size as normal menu items and I could've easily had 2-3 apps myself and been full. We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome, got our food in before HH was over and was attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back, and a solid spot to watch some games at the bar. read more

Overall, delicious! I came here for a short celebration! They had delicious champagne along with some appetizers. They have happy hour M-F 3-6pm! Our server, Emily was patient, attentive and knowledgeable of menu recommendations to suit our desires. I had an Irish coffee which was good. I found the spicy chili absolutely delicious! The Caesar Salad with Brady's dressing was divine! The City of Royal Oak offers very little free, onsite parking - especially restaurant establishments. They brought me a Caesar salad with pieces of brown romaine and said it's safe to eat. I won't be back. It sucks because I liked Jim Brady's in Royal Oak but who knows what else they're doing in the kitchen if they think that's ok. I didn't even ask for another item in its place. I'm super disappointed. I was looking forward to this lunch/dinner here. The first time I came here, it was just for drinks. Saw the menu and was impressed by the story and the menu selections. My one day off and I chose this disappointing experience. The ice tea tasted like lemon with water. Not richly brewed at all. Told the waitress and her reply was "I didn't make it" I ordered the Charlie Brown. Well-done. It came back raw in the middle. I am going to post this review on all platforms. Not a huge fan of this location anymore because the manager was terrible on a couple occasions/visits. All the other staff was always amazing though, especially this one waiter (can't recall his name) who seemed to be known and popular with all the customers. Use to be my go to spot with the My Big Fat Greek Turkey Burger, The Boston Boulevard Waffle Puff and Nantucket Lobster Roll. Not anymore with all the menu changes. read more

Metso, former colleagues and friends that I hadn't seen in a couple of years, and they suggested diamond Jim Brady's. I was concerned about the acoustics, but while we were there, we could hear one another, just fine. We shared a few appetizers and all were tasty. I have been here for dinner a couple of times and the group I was with enjoyed both the food and the service, so I decided to try a brunch with my group because I looked at the brunch menu last time I was here. Eggs Benedict gets me all the time. Set up a reservation on Open table so it was easy. Even with the heavy rain most of the group showed up. A couple had been here before and loved the food. The eggs Benedict was some of the best I ever had but didn't like the fried potatoes do to the spices used on them. Both did warm up well the next day. Service was friendly. Lots of parking in their own private parking lot. A rarity in Royal Oak. Owner is very homeless cat friendly along with the staff. Both told us about how ordering a piece of carrot cake feeds a cat a meal. All of us got a piece to go. I plan to set up another brunch with a another meetup group I help with. Ok everyone here was so friendly and attend AND we had an 11 mo old! Bob was our waiter and was always there when we needed him. Gave great suggestions. Yes get the chicken finger thingy apps and the Brussels sprouts! One drink we didn't like and insisted on making/giving something else. Birthday guy was in the group and out came WARM carrot cake and HOMEMADE Vernon's ice cream. Are you kidding me. We ALL thought the cake was the best ever and ice cream over the top goodness. We came here last night as a group of 6. +1 for free attached parking! My bf and me both got burgers and they were good but WAY overpriced (almost $20?!). The aesthetic is upscale but the food isn't so not sire what they're going for here. Our server was really nice and funny, she did a great job! Drinks were good also. Why not more stars? We were a party of 5 with a reservation for 6 pm. Our table was ready and we were seated immediately. It took some time for us to receive our order, but once it came it was hot. I ordered fish and chips and it was delicious. No complaints. My friend ordered a po boy sandwich and enjoyed it as well. My mom ordered the filet and did not like it at all. She said it wasn't cooked the way she ordered it and ot was too tough to eat. Whatever sauce on it was too salty to eat. I appreciate the fact that they came out and addressed the situation, offered her something in exchange and did not charge her for the meal. I appreciate the effort and for that I would definitely visit again because my food was really good and the atmosphere is really nice and I love the street signs at the booths. Rating it 3.5 - Took my parents here after going to the movies. Tons of parking but unfortunately only 2 or 3 handicap parking which didn't look roomly but that goodness for more available parking. Literally the number one reason I decided to come here - easy in and easy out. (That's what he said! Lol!) For real now - left my parents in the car so I could make sure that they had available seating and a clear path for my dad since he's visually impaired. The person at the front was super nice in assisting; the table wasn't all the way ready but he told us we could sit if we wanted to. We weren't given menus at first but the waitress noticed me looking at my phone then apologized and brought some straight out. Food did take a minute or too but I preferred that way instead of fast food. We all had a round of drinks - dad ordered the 8oz steak with asparagus and potatoes, mom order and onion dip sandwich with fries, and I ordered a salmon po boy. Fries were overly seasoned but doable and my dad steak was tender but as well over seasoned (if you eat with potatoes then it helped). The check came to estimate of $116. Would I be back - probably not with my parents but it seems like a great place for a nice casual date. Not cheap and not expensive. very hard to wrap my head around what i just experienced. out at dinner my my partner and friend at a place where i enjoyed. emmet our server was great, food was good, and drinks were good too. the reason for this review is to shed light on the owner Tom Brady and some manager that's probably 100lbs soaking wet. we were on the patio enjoying our meals and drink and soaking the sun. two kids come up to us, 13 and 9, with some chocolate to sell saying it's for their cheer and football competition. we, being the charitable type that we are, buy their boxes but told the kids to keep their candy to make more money. the small manager comes out and asks the kids where their parents are and whatnot and we explained to him we were donating to their cause. he then says okay and walks away. we thought it would stop there as we were finishing up with the kids, learning about their grades and their aspirations. on a what seemed like an alleged drunk rampage, Tom Brady comes out and yells at the top of his lungs, "you need to leave right now. you guys are harassing my guests. you need to leave." my partner said "woah woah woah" tom retorted "no 'woah woah woah, you shut up, this is my business" then turned his focus on the 13 and 9 year old and shouted "IM GOING TO CALL THE POLICE!!!" all of the tables on the patio were in shock. the kids ran off scared. i said "call the cops on kids?!" the second worst tom brady then goes back inside and the patio tables all spoke with each other and agreed that he was rude and his behavior was unprofessional. this was the last visit and everyone else on the patio said it was theirs too. great job threatening police on two young black children tom. great job. read more

I haven't been to Jim Brady's in awhile and decided to stop in after the movies. I started with the crispy Brussels. They were seasoned well but not as crispy as I remember them being in the past. For my entree I selected the sea scallops that were served on a bed of risotto. The scallops were seared perfectly but the risotto was dry and flavorless. Had the risotto been creamy this would have been great. Our waitress was friendly but it seemed like the kitchen was slow. Which was surprising because the restaurant was pretty empty. read more
