Been meaning to try this place for quite some time, but have not been able to find nearby parking. Today I was lucky enough to find convenient parking, so tried it for breakfast. Ambiance: Nice. Casual with a tiniest bit of upscale. Nice buildout. Service: very friendly. Had the feel of a neighborhood place with better trained serves. Food: Very good! Menu has a very wide selection, but not too many items to make your head spin. Everything was properly cooked. They have an interesting lunch and dinner menu too. We were seated immediately on a friday evening and enjoyed the baked goat cheese appetizer. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which was tasty and the portion was huge, so had leftovers to take home. We will definitely return in the future. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because we were put at a table in the middle of the room and there were several very loud tables behind us, which detracted some from the experience. The restaurant has some acoustic panels on the ceiling but should consider adding more. I could barely hear my companion across the table from me but could hear literally every word from some loud woman behind me (I recognize that the restaurant can't control the volume of their customers but they can, I believe, do a bit more to reduce this issue). The cocktail menu looked interesting too and the steak and frites looked very tasty. In the future, I think I will just try to request one of the tables along the edge of the room, as I think it may not be quite so loud. read more

My husband and I visited The Fourth street in Royal Oak. When we arrived, there was a short wait, but we decided to sit at the bar, and it was no more than 10 minutes. The staff and the manager were incredibly friendly. Our food came out quickly, and I noticed a lot of people ordering their signature chocolate martinis, but I opted for a Bloody Mary. It was like a salad in a glass:)! The food portions were just right for me, though my husband, who usually eats a bit more, found them a little on the small side. Still, everything tasted great, and the atmosphere was friendly. The only hiccup was parking--it's a bit tricky to find a spot, so we had to maneuver around a bit. We got this as takeout for lunch and I was not disappointed! I had the avocado toast which included pomegranate and I was impressed. They way the pomegranate worked with the creaminess of the avocado and heartiness of the tomatoes was great. read more

We were unfortunately seated at one of the three two-tops in the main walkway to the kitchen and dining areas. We were bombarded with staff and guests on Molly was supposed to be waiting on us, but another waitress ended up waiting on us instead. Ok. Ordered green tea, black coffee, avocado scrambler with added mushrooms, whole grain toast, Super Bowl, added blueberries, cinnamon raisin toast, added cream cheese and side of turkey sausage. $58.96 They ran out of oat milk and have no flavored creamers, we were told they are basic here. The black coffee was okay, not exactly what my husband was hoping for this morning. My Tazo green tea was quite weak and tasted like water. Should have been a bag for a cup and not steeped in the pot, was too watered down. Quite relaxed here. One staffer was drinking Mimosa at the bar, while the bartender was eating a plate of food at the bar socializing with a customer and a colleague. My husband didn't like their whole grain toast much, didn't eat more than a bite. The whole top of the toast was burnt. The Super Bowl was okay, the fruit was nice. The avocado scramble was good with added mushrooms. The cinnamon raisin under the sweets on the menu is not a side of cinnamon toast as I was hoping for, it's a full on brunch meal of cinnamon raisin French toast. My eyes went wide as she placed it on the table. The cream cheese was softened too, not what I wanted either. I think the menu needs to he updated to reflect it's a French toast and not a side of toast at all. Don't order on the fly and look at the menu closely and don't feel rushed to order. read more

Stopped in to meet a friend for a Sunday Bloody Mary. Sat at the bar and was a really nice bar, atmosphere was nice, menu looked good. Not an inexpensive place but I would for sure some back in some time for breakfast. Bloody Mary was pricey but very nice. This easily has become one of our favorite spots. It's a nice, quaint and neighborhood feeling restaurant. The service is some of the best we have ever experienced where the servers take the time to recognize you even if you've only been there once before. They also anticipate everything you might need before you need it. Can't say enough about the service. And the food is delicious. We can't brunch anywhere else now. Everything we try is a hit. I brought a large group to this cute little restaurant for a monthly lunch club I host at work. I called in advance to see if they could reserve a spot for us and they agreed. I had something unavoidable come up and had to postpone for a week and I totally forgot to call the restaurant. I felt awful and really didn't want to call after the fact but they were so nice and of course reserved our spot for us the following week which was amazing since they don't do reservations normally. I'm so glad we went because all 25 people loved their food and the service. We had everything from oatmeal to a monte Christo sandwich. A really nice selection of food without being overwhelming with a huge menu. Will definitely be back. read more

Started coming here because the reviews on Royal Oak eats and Facebook were blowing up. Went with my girlfriend and amazing. Had breakfast the eggs and bacon are so wonderful and the potatoes they serve you have to get. The food is so good and fresh. The portions are wonderful. service is excellent. The waitresses and waiters are very on top of everything. The place is really cute and cozy. It is a corner location, lots of windows there's outdoor seating. Enjoy! read more

I've been going to this restaurant since it first opened and it's a decent option. I normally sit at the bar when I eat, and have noticed that there is a different bar tender every since time (which I don't like), and the service at the bar is EXTREMELY slow. The last time I was there, a customer walked in, and waited for at least 5 minutes and then got up and left because nobody was tending to him. On that same day, I also waited at least 7 minutes to just get a menu. Also the bartender left dishes piled up at the bar after I finished eating (which is a pet peeve of mine...who wants to see dirty plates in front of them! haha) I think if the bar tenders were more consistent, or there was one additional person it would make the customer experience, and attention to detail much better. The service quality is the worst thing about this place, but the food is actually decent. The menu has changed a bit, and some of my favorite items (crawfish cavatappi and risotti) have been eliminated, but there are still a few good options. I like their salad, but wish they used shredded or shaved parm for their salads, instead of grated. The brunch menu is probably their best food in my opinion. The brunch menu has several nice options, and enough variety that everyone will probably find something they like. The ambience is very cute, and good for a date experience. In general I like this place, and want to like it more (bc I live nearby), but I have slowed down visiting due to the service quality. Hopefully they will find a good rhythm as they grow read more

Cute place that's a mix of fine dining and diner. It's owned by Col of Col's and a lot of his favorites are on the menu. We had a great dinner here and really enjoyed it. Having said that, we really miss Inn Season too. It's a very nice venue as well, and the service is excellent. Give it a try, it's interesting. read more

Great food, great service, they really made this place look great and more inviting than its previous occupancy. Very clean, yet welcoming, love the light fixtures, curtains and large amounts of natural light. I had the eggs Benedict and it was an absolute delight to eat. We enjoyed a lovely brunch at this newer cafe (formerly Season's Cafe) a few weeks ago. The building and decor are classy-reminds me of places we've enjoyed in NYC. We had attentive and very pleasant service on a busy Sunday around noon. Two of us enjoyed omelets while the other ordered corned beef hash . Everything was hot, prettily plated and flavorful. Did not get pics of my dates plates, but my spinach and feta omelet is posted for consideration. They also offer nice looking cocktails but we stuck to coffee. This time. Will return! read more

What a nice addition to the Royal Oak food scene. This place was thoughtfully designed, comfortable seating, lots of space. The atmosphere is casual and conversational. We had the most charming little waitress who was outgoing and almost excited to work there which shows that the management staff there must be very good. We both ordered the Monte Cristo, it was delicious it was definitely bang for the buck and all of the other food that we were spying look just as good. I will be back to try the rest. First visit here and I was pleased! Manager checked on us during the meal and said goodbye on the way out. The restaurant was cute, we sat outside. Came here Sunday for brunch and this is now one of my favorite go to spots! The inside has an inviting ambiance with lots of natural lighting and cute decor, and overall felt cozy. Super friendly staff. The brunch menu had an impressive amount of options but we settled on the veggie omelette with egg whites (the feta in the middle is delicious) and the Mexican Bowl which was bursting with flavor from the chorizo. The potatoes in the bowl were one of the best things we ate, as they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The restaurant is beautiful and bright love the light and airy feeling. We were greeted with a smile and lead to our table as soon as we walked in. Our goat cheese app was Amazing! Unfortunately the goat cheese was our second choice as they were out of the calamari early on a Saturday. Our waiter was not great. He didn't mention there were specials, he forgot we ordered a second round of of wine, he started to take away my 1/2 full glass of wine away when he was clearing my dinner plate that I had to ask him to remove. He also never asked us if we wanted dessert. As for my dinner, my Bucatini ala vodka which I added chicken to, it was just okay and kinda bland. My first time there, I was served by a lovely waitress who had no qualms discussing the menu with me and suggesting popular items. The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere as well. Today was my first time visiting this restaurant for brunch and I absolutely loved it. It is very charmingly decorated on the inside. Due to the beautiful weather, the outside tables were full, but I prefer indoor seating anyway, so that was fine by me. I had the avocado scramble minus the onions, with a side of sausage links. I also had the wheat toast with butter & marmalade. The avocado could have been a little more ripe, but that's not necessarily the restaurant's fault - avocados are notoriously difficult that way! Fantastic new addition to Royal Oak. Off the beaten path on Fourth Street. Great open, stylish atmosphere and yes, outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend the French Onion and Chicken dumpling soup! The vegetable stir fry (we added shrimp) was large and delicious! I have never been so insulted in my life. I do not think that this is legal! We just left here after our meal and the server put a 20% gratitude charge automatically even though it's just me and my husband when I asked about it they said it's only for you guys because you have tipped lower in the past, we feel like you need to tip more. I tipped based on the quality of the service, and I felt that the service was subpar, I am not legally required to tip more than 15% for terrible service. Me and my husband used to go there every single weekend. It was our favorite bunch place, but we will never step foot in that restaurant ever again! I've never been so embarrassed in my life and to add insult to injury they said all of this to us loudly in front of the entire packed dining room to embarrass us into not making a scene and just giving them what they wanted so we could just leave.
