This is my first time visiting Seattle and this was a must see for me. First saw Beth's on TV showing those outrageous 12 egg omelettes, and they were as seen on TV. Delicious!!! My girlfriend had the patty melt and tater tots that were awesome also. Service was great, food was great... Ohh!!! Almost forgot. If they offer you some of their house made raspberry jam, do not turn it down! It's so good. Just make sure not to stuff yourself too much and leave room for their cinnamon roll for dessert. Well, we had it for dessert. Overall, great experience and so glad we found this spot near our hotel since it had been so long since if seen it on TV, I forgot the name of the place, but I won't forget this visit. Beth's Cafe is one of those places you can always count on. It never changes and its always there when you need it. That's reassuring for me. This is exactly why I always choose to come here and dine at least once when I am home. I can honestly say everything on the menu is delicious. If you are on a diet or watching your calorie intake, forget about it. Chances are if you concerned about that stuff, you wont be dining here in the first place. Beth's is one of those places where you can come hang out with your friends at any hour of the day and eat really good food. I have never left here hungry. The lovely artwork on all of the walls is provided and created by Beth's very own patrons. The yellow walls are from when you could legally smoke inside the establishment. Got a Japanese exchange student friend, it was July 5th, aka, Day of the America. Gatta show dem America. Gatta show dem Beth's. It's a statistical fact that 85% of the world's population loves eggs. It's also a statistical fact that less than 85% of the world's population has been to Beth's. I've loved Beth's every time I go here. It's a friggin cult of Murican culture: got the vibe of da human grindin beat, American obesity, biker gangs, and a cup of crayons to draw your favorite egg-eating superhero before the meal. People come here for da OM'LETTES, which impregnate all y'alls with food babies. as luck would have it, ya might have twins. When we got here, the server gave us a 30 minute wait. how many people? 10 people? OK. We just spent the next 20 minutes vadin 7/11. Came back, eyed the waiting list sitting on the counter, and the same server from before popped outta nowhere gave me the scariest bitchface, said to me "IT'S STILL 30 MINUTES TONY" and turned over the waiting list page. umm... WHADDAWHADDAWHADDAWHADDAWHA? Hol' up tho. 20 minutes passed. Basic physics will tell y'alls 30 minus 20 is 10. I ain't trippin....i haven't even had my om'lets. But dat bitchfase still handed me my ass. 15 minutes later, we got our asses sat down and handed menus. I still had my ass from ms. bitchfase. Did the ordering, ordered myself a triple bypass (Beth's densest om'let) to de-remember the horrendous pre-food service. Got the food 20 minutes later, started carving my shit up like an archaeologist. There was a lot of bacon, a lot of cheese, a lot of tomato, but where the fuck was everything else listed on the menu item description? Probably hadn't carved enough. Kept diggin. My omelette was blander than new-age piano music. 3/4 through our meal, japanexchange looked like she was fadin. She ordered the makin bacon, which featured HELLA BACON. But her omelette had a lot more than bacon. Shieeeeeet. Dey switched up our dishes: she had mine, and i had hers. dey done fuxed up. I took the check up to the cashier, gave him the breakdown of what had happened, and his response sealed the deal: "WELL, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO? I gotta tell ya, I really wanted to like this place. It came highly recommended; I heard of their infamous 12 egg omelet, their great hash browns, and hippy "chill" service. I had the worst service of my entire life. My omelet still had the plastic attached to the Kraft Singles to which they serve; and the bitch of the waitress had the audacity to push us out the door so she could get a new tip regardless of the petroleum products in my breakfast. I hate this place and regardless of their 24 hour open policy, I demand my friends never give them their money. I HIGHLY recommend no one gives them their business. Always so much food. I ordered the Steak and Eggs. Comes with nice sized steak and eggs on a huge pile of hashbrowns. Ordered the hot chocolate which doesnt disappoint. The cooks know how to push the food out and quickly. And they dont reduce the quality. I still dont know how someone can eat the huge omelettes and not be in a food coma later. Beth's is great, it has become a tourist attraction, so it is packed, especially on the weekends. I love that you get paper to draw, and place on the wall full of art work. Beth's is known for large portions, so be prepared for large pancakes, and big quantities of anything you order. Overall the food is amazing, but the portions can make it overwhelming. read more

My two friends wanted to team up and tackle a 12-egg omelet, while the crazier panda wanted to try it alone. Not sure why I do this. They got the Southwestern Exposure (as seen on Man v. Food). I stuck with my Northwestern Exposure (smoked salmon, cream cheese, and green onions). A bed of hash browns, lightly browned on the exterior, is placed on a pizza pan. The 12-egg omelet then covers the hash browns like an edible blanket. Finally, two buttered pieces of toast (four half slices) are placed on top. I knew I had to storm out of the gates before the food wall hit, so I believe going with lighter items like cream cheese and smoked salmon helped. The omelet again was delicious, packed with a healthy dose of salmon. There were sections of the omelet where I felt there may have been too much cream cheese added. The green onions retained their crunch and added a pleasing aromatic flare. Hash browns here did not have the extra-crispy outside, but for a food challenge, I prefer a softer potato in order to get the food down faster. Oh yeah, I made omelet and hash brown sandwiches with my toast. Panda logic. Hot sauce? You're damn right I used it. In fact, I brought my own ghost pepper sauce to the party (check the video to see that). Ginormous omelets, or should I say, nomnomnomelets. I really enjoyed the Makin' Bacon omelet I got; I also enjoyed the pile of hash browns it came on, and when I say I got the omelet, 3 of us got it and had leftovers. It was classic breakfast diner food. One of the things I really liked about the omelet is that the bacon used in side was still crispy! Go Beth's Cafe! Other than being super filling, the food was super tasty. I thought the service was really good, especially considering they are perpetually slammed by customers, and I enjoyed being able to create some artwork while waiting for my food (always fun, and brings out the 4 year old in me). The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because of the wait. It is pretty long, but overall worth it. And, like many places, if there is routinely a long wait, it's probably good. Brown water for coffee. thought we might try to ask for different pancakes, so we sent them back to the kitchen... in return for some more of the same like. Then, when we put some non-Britney on the juke, my crowd began blues dancing in the aisle. I suppose that's their shtick in most every dining establishment with open floor space. Oh man! I didn't think I could like Beth's any better but I just discovered the peanut butter chocolate milkshake. Dammmmnnnnnn! That is incredible. We were seated (as in told which table was open) next to the mustache wall. There was a tasteful picture of Michael Jackson with a mustache & "Welcome to Heaven, here's a mustache". We ate for 15 minutes but waited for an hour and a half. Staff was clearly overwhelmed and yelling. One waitress told me friend at 2 am "you can't sleep here" who had his head down in his arms. I went here with my friend. People who reported not being seated right away that's right - but hey the people who frequent Beth's are cool people and so you just hang out until they call your name. Outside - you hang out - it was a beautiful day when I was there so it didn't matter. There is no room to wait inside. When you walk in the door you are looking right at the kitchen - cooking away. It was kind of fun to watch them for a minute or two. They were fast and everything they were cooking looked yummy. That being said - I was still recovering from the flu so I went for the Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs and 4 sausages. I ate it all it was so good. My friend got an omelette and it was huge. He ate it all and some of the sausage I couldn't eat. If you want a beautiful place to go for breakfast don't go to Beth's. If you want waitresses or waiters all decked out in a uniform don't go to Beth's. Beth's has the artwork of patrons all over their walls. It honestly is fun to look at all of the artwork. I am really mixed in my feelings for this place. I see, in conflict-averse Seattle, that a place where you could reliably get some 'tude might be a blessing. The food is nothing great: diner food, with unlimited partially-cooked hash browns. Service is often spotty. It's straight-up sticky inside. The pro: Good tunes. Conversations at adjacent tables will be painful and hilarious. They have pinball tables in a back room (but, like hearts and eggs here, mostly broken). This place is a total dump from the inside with all the paper drawings on the walls to the very old and dated furniture. The silverware and dishes were also sorely needed to be replaced!! The diviest of the dives! This is a Seattle icon. Beth's has been open 24/7, 365 for 60 years in a row. That's possible because it's just the right kind of greasy spoon that will hit you right in the gut with that eggy, hashy, salty, bacony concoction you MUST have at 4 a.m. (or 10am, or 5pm, or any time actually) all washed down with a whole bunch of coffee. And their coffee is legit. It's not some diner coffee, it's Cafe Vita. Beth's has personality, and they have some unique dishes, mostly because of the proportions. For example, their 12 egg omelette is a legend that will baptize you in Seattle. No, not the Seattle that's taken over my Amazonians or other techies searching for that incredible $20 craft beer from a monastery on the Rhine. It's the grunge, baby. No judgement at Beth's. Other awesome fare - the gravy Benedict. Instead of Hollandaise sauce, two eggs on biscuits and sausage are smothered in gravy and garnished with a humongous serving of hash browns. Their corned beef hash is like drunk baby food. The fries are like crusty pieces of heaven. There's plenty to explore at Beth's with a breakfast and dinner menu all day. Time ceases to have meaning at a place that's been open 60 years around the clock. I warn you , though, the parking situation isn't fabulous. There is sometimes a line out the door. BUT there is an arcade room so you can wait. And a bar next door so you can continue your drinking. It may look dilapidated (and it is), but you'll never regret going to Beth's. I'm writing my review mostly so that I can brag that I did in fact eat a 12 egg omelet, and finished it! It's definitely a diner, but with a little bit more attitude than your average Denny's. You can see the cooks, and the waiters rotate around. My favorite part is the collection of drawings on the walls and trying to draw something worthy of the walls. I have been here twice, despite the bad experience I had the first time, and both times the food has just been okay. I get that it's supposed to be a greasy spoon dive, but I think it's overpriced considering I can cook it better at home and considering the supbar customer service. To me, there is not a lot going for this place except that you can stumble in late at night and eat some breakfast food after having too much to drink. The first time I came here, I tried to order a breakfast burrito sans meat and I think another thing or two, but apparently the waitress ignored me because when I got my food it had ham in it. I didn't eat it a bite of it for this reason, although I ate my hashbrowns which were crispy enough, although too greasy. The waitress didn't ask me about my food, and I didn't tell her because she was rude when I placed my order and didn't think it was worth a confrontation. My friend ended up taking it home with him. I did get a slice of apple pie a la mode, which hit the spot nicely. The second time I came here, I decided to order something that wouldn't require any changes or substitutions to be suitable for my diet, so I went with the French toast. I love French toast but I have rarely found a really good French toast. The French toast I got was solidly middle of the road - not the worst, not anything special. I ate it all because I was drunk and hungry. I was satisfied. The friend I came with ordered an omelette, which he said he did not like at all. How can you give this place a bad review? It's the quintessential Seattle diner. It's never going to be a Belltown place and nor should it. You go to Beth's for the experience - waiting an hour for a table, drinking coffee while you wait and striking up conversation with the other people waiting. It's quintessential Seattle in my opinion; prim and proper soccer family, tatted up couple, and random me, all chatting about Seattle, Beth's, food, or anything else that comes up. Or the flip experience when I was younger of being insanely drunk and showing up at 2:30 am, chowing down, and talking to everyone in the restaurant in our outdoor voices- waking up in the morning impressed that the staff would put up with us being such doofuses. The staff is friendly, food is out fast, and it's tasty. What more do you need. Now that said, it's not a gourmet meal, so definitely don't come here if you're looking for a mimosa and an egg white frittata...buuuut if you're down for a 6-12 egg chili cheese omelette or something like that, look no further! read more

Made a special trip to this diner while in the area for a visit. Food was amazing. Fluffy biscuits, amazing omelettes, and a great veggie scramble. Definitely awesome diner fare in a fun location covered in doodles and drawings from past patrons. We went when it wasn't too busy but I would definitely assume there would be a wait for tables during the busier times. Parking is also a challenge in the area, but with city based diners you can expect that. Our service was definitely lack luster. It took us almost 15 minutes to get waters and almost a half hour for them to come by to take our orders. Therefore we were there almost an hour before we got our food (just two of us) outside of busy hours. Would recommend if you are not in a hurry. read more

Got dragged here with friends who wanted to eat 12 egg omlettes, thought it would be just another diner. And it is, but a GREAT one. While idiot 1 was slaving over his 12 egg bacon omlette and idiot 2 was working on his 12 egg farmer's omlette, other orders were the corned beef hash with 3 over easy eggs, bacon, waffle, and scrambled eggs, and a muffin, egg, sausage, and hashbrown mini breakfast. I got the country benedict and it is the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Country benedict is a biscuit slice in half, topped with (amazing) sausage, scrambled eggs, and gravy. Between that and the hashbrowns my jaw dropped. Everyone had at least a pound of hash browns served with their meal, the idiots had at least two pounds each. Anyway, my country benedict was great, the blueberry muffin was great, and the corned beef hash got high praise. I'm not sure how the bacon and waffles were, but they looked good and got eaten without a single word so I'm sure they were tasty. Idiot 1 did not finish, he was maybe 4 bites away. Idiot 2 did finish. Somehow I was worse off with a full stomach having eaten maybe 1/2 my country benedict than they were having eaten an entire pizza pan of breakfast. Not gunna lie - I liked this place quite a lot! The decor left a lot to be desired. The walls are covered with childrens art, nothing is new, very very hole in the wall, but once you get past that it's pretty great! I had the chocolate milkshake to start and OMG it was awesome - SO DELICIOUS!!! My fiance had the peanut butter milkshake - he loved it! For my entree I had the pancakes, scrambled eggs, and ham. If you are in your 30s, you go to Beth's to try and recapture your youth, and wrestle with the fact that your face piercings and tattoos have limited your employment options to retail. If you are in your 40s, you go to Beth's with your out-of-town friends so you can watch their faces as they try to get their head around the ambiance. If you are in your 50s, you go to Beth's because your significant other won't let you eat anything for breakfast that isn't 90% fiber. Oh, and in the vain hope that the cute waitress has an unfulfilled father fantasy. If you are in your 60s, what in the heck are you doing at Beth's? That crazy dreadlocked cook might spit in your eggs or scratch himself with the spatula. Go home. If you are over 70, let's face it, you aren't at Beth's. We came here around midnight on a Friday night and it was very crowded. I guess there are just a dearth of late night options available. We ended up waiting for about 15 minutes, something I wasn't exactly prepared to do in my very tired state. I was also annoyed that they wouldn't let us dine at the bar. Overall, they just took their time with seating, since there were also empty booths that waited empty while they took their time. My boyfriend and I split a Reuben sandwich and fries. The sandwich was tasty, but very heavily buttered. I could feel my waistline expanding as I ate my half (and I'm glad it was only half). Besides the inefficient seating, I was also annoyed by the dirtiness of the place. We were seated near the grill area, and I saw trash that was tossed all around the trash can but not necessarily IN the bin. Whenever the cooks had trash, they would just chuck it in the general direction of the bin, without checking to see if it actually made it inside. I've decided this is really a 2-star establishment, but I'm still leaving them an extra star for being open 24 hours. read more

I have never had to wait, I'm not sure when people are arriving where they have to wait 40 mins for a table, but I get there around dinner time. Cause dinnertime is the best time to have breakfast, imo. All of their omelettes are fine choices, my favorites are the veggie and the one with bacon, tomatoes and sour cream. SO good! We always get the Amish bread, it's well worth the small upcharge. I would also highly recommend the breakfast burrito, maybe my favorite in Seattle! The six egg omelette feeds me three times, no joke it's a LOT of food. Hubs tried to eat a twelve egg omelette once and failed miserably, despite being a large guy and "eating until he was angry." His words. The two times I was not super happy with my meal were the two times I actually ordered dinner. First time was a patty melt and tater tots. The second time was the fried chicken they advertise on their tables. I was warned that the meal would come from the bar next door and would arrive later than the rest of my table. I'm not known for not making bad decisions, so I went ahead and ordered it anyway. It wasn't terrible, but the breading seemed overcooked and it just wasn't worth the 20 minute wait. That's 20 minutes AFTER everyone else had gotten their food. All in all 2 mediocre meals out of sixty is better odds than my own kitchen, tbh. I see many many giant omelettes in my future. read more

So I never went to Beth's in the prime drinking years of my youth. Guess I missed the opportunity to ever enjoy this place or find it the least bit amusing. The pancakes were rubbery, the patrons loaded, and the ambiance was ala squat house. I felt dirty just sitting there, and after eating only half of my meal, my innards didn't feel right until about dinnertime the next day. I don't care what anyone says, Beth's holds a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Brought my kids here for the first time and they didn't disappoint. Yeah, it's a dingy hole in the wall...but they have great omelets, arcade games, and enough paper and crayons to keep any kid busy. read more

Stopped in here because, when you're in Seatown, you gotta try this place at least once. Yep, they have the legendary mega omelettes! Split the 6 egg omelet two ways with veg ingredients (bel peppers, mushrooms, onions) on a bed of hash browns. Second helpings of the potatoes are free, but really, who needs that when you've got a gigantic, fluffy well made omelet? Definitely recommend a try if you're in Green Lake. I love the nostalgia, all the innocent crayon and not-so-innocent made-for-adults artwork on the walls. Super friendly, laid back service. Glad they haven't dialed up the snobriety just because they're on the tourist map. read more
