Best Nails - Terrible work - Nail Salons Near Me - Newark, California

A girlfriend and I decided to get our nails done, her treat. I was ecstatic because it had been a while. Well this was not a great experience for me. I have been a client before in the past and they aren't the best out there but they were always my go to whenever I need to get like a quick you know full set. I'll go there before an event or whatever or like some celebration, I'd go there you know just to get it done real quick. It's in the neighborhood is by my house, but this time around my friend had paid for it and she had to leave early due to the fact that she was finished already and her set was $50. Well they charged me $85 and she took five dollars off so she gave me the whole set for $75 dollars which to me is still a lot because my friend had to leave and she already prepaid everything after my friend left she just completely stopped doing everything that you're supposed to do. None of the steps were correct. She have asked everything you could see. She didn't even cut my cuticles. She didn't prep the nail. She didn't file the nail. She didn't shape the nail she basically just like like really I could've glued some nails on that looked better than these and right now they're feeling wobbly my cuticles. You can see a hangnail right there on the right hand or like all the glue is all over me she, my nails are still dirty underneath she did me dirty because it was already prepaid. I understand it was late and I was the last customer, but that's not right. This is still your work and I still am a paid customer and that wasn't fair just because it was prepaid. She either had something personal against me. I know she was tired but still this is your work and really though I really feel like if I did not pay first, she would've done a better job and that to me was disrespectful and a slap in the face and unprofessional or she just isn't that great which I don't believe she said she's been doing it for 10 years and I don't believe that 10 years your work would look so bad. I could've glued some press on on my fingers and have them look way better than these disappointing. It's unfortunate because I really really really loved that little hole in the wall nail salon that was near my house that I always would go to every now and then $85 for this lady you're nuts you're disrespectful you robbed my friend. read more

I love this place! After going to my usual place I decided to come here and give it a try. The girls are super nice, never rude. I've popped in for last minute mani and pedi and no bad faces, no attitude (like my old usual place across the street) love the work and the service. Have had 2 different people from this place and both have exceeded my expectations! read more

Called earlier same day & scheduled an appt for 1pm, didn't get seen til 2:10pm. By the time I was getting my nails done, the nail tech was rushing because they were accepting more walk-ins. I had asked for a gel manicure. The pictures don't show but the color is so uneven. After she was done, she gave me a "hand massage" with a SMALL AMOUNT of lotion, all while wearing RUBBER GLOVES. I've never had a manicure just to end up with DRY, CRACKED HANDS by the time the nail tech was "finished." There was so much nail polish smudges all over my fingers, backs of my hands, & palm. But she padded my hands & said "all done." Then rushed to help give a mani to somebody who was getting a pedi. When it came time to PAY (& tip her) for my nails, I showed her how MESSY & DRY my nails were. & she FINALLY started cleaning the smudges & grabbed the oil to give me a hand massage... yea, very disappointed. Don't think I'll come back, def won't recommend. read more

If you want a pedicure, DO NOT GO TO BEST NAILS!! I was in absolute shock when the lady that did my Pedicure said, " Look better now, more natural !" Natural, my ass! How is it possible for my feet to look worse after what was supposed to be a PROFESSIONAL PEDICURE?? It just blows my mind that she thought I would be happy with what she did to my feet ! Unfortunately, i dont have any before pics , only after ones to show the shocking difference. I am beyond embarrassed to post the after pics, however, I felt it necessary . It is the worst pedicure I have ever seen! No skin care either , like oils lotion or callous removal. If I could rate zero stars, I would but yelp only let's you do 1. read more

I've been going to Best Nails for about 4-5 years and lately I've been getting bad service. The owner embarrassed my mom in front of some people telling her they would change her $10 more because her pedicure will take longer. This is not the right way to tell it to consumers. She could at least talk to my mom somewhere where no one can hear. That Saturday I got my nails done for my cousins wedding the next day. On Sunday my GEL nails cracked and they looked bad! This was bad service! I would go tell them but im never going back again. read more

I have been coming here for years with my mom. They are quick and do a great job. Lee is talented at manicures and any other girl (or guy) they have had working do a great job at pedicures. I also come here for Lee to wax eye brows so glad they survived through the pandemic! read more

I've been going here for a long time and all I can say is these ladies are doing an awesome job. The moment you stepped in the ladies will greet you with smile and let you feel you're a family. I ran a very tight shift so I cannot always call ahead for an appointment. I get off at 5:00 and call to see if they can still take me for Gel Manicure & Foot Spa, which they will always take time for me. If not, the same day the following day is ok too. It's best to go in early during the day if you can. If you make an appointment on Fridays and Saturdays make sure to make it on time because those are the busiest days for them. And if you arrive late it delays everything or someone will take your spot. What I like here most is that they properly sterilized their instruments and use fresh new disposable items for each customer. (They throw away the other items that are disposable after each use). I love the massage chair and being seated there while I soaked by feet. Snoring is ok haha I guessed when you feel that relaxed you dozed off. Too many choices for nail colors. My favorite is the "mood", I forgot how they exactly call it but it changes its color depending on the weather. You can appreciate this more in the Winter time than Summer time. They also have a private room for waxing & facials. Making an appointment is good so the ladies can plan and arrange their time slots. Parking is not a problem in this area too! Try their services and you will love their work! read more

So we live in the area and never really paid too much attention to Best Nails. BUT having got out nails done at another shop in Newark, me and my mom came in to get our gel nails removed. But my mom wound up getting a regular manicure and I got my eyebrows waxed. My mom enjoyed her's a lot, loving taking it off and getting her nails done. I went in a separate room to get my eyebrows waxed. The woman did a very good job, listening to exactly what I wanted (cleaned up and my eyebrows trimmed). My mom's nails came out very clean and good. The prices were very good and the decor was very simple and nice. The ladies were very very nice. The shop was very relaxing, not too many people and very clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I for sure will be back read more

I can't say how much I love my nails it's hard to find some nail technicians that know how to do dip powder nails and let me say Lee does not disappoint!! I went here because I was referred by a friend and boy was she not kidding on how of a good job she does!! Not only she knows exactly what she is doing but has pre cut aluminum foils for your nails ready! And the best selection in colors for dip powder nails! I'm so happy she really knows what she is doing! And reassured me that they would not break! Which most nails salons don't. Another major plus they really care about customer service they try their best to remember your name! Again that's a big plus on my book because most nail salon don't have good customer service anymore. read more

I came in at 6:15 and they close at 7. Although there are only 2 workers, they get the job done fast and they don't rush or do a sloppy job. I got a full set and a pedi, and both ladies took their time with me and did a neat job. Usually when you go close to closing time, the workers talk shit about you and rush and do a sloppy job, but this place is different. 2 other customers actually came in after me and they helped them too. I would give this place 5 stars but they don't do 3d or have the tips with glitter already on it.. I will come back here for just a regular polish or white tips for my hands, and a pedi. read more

Not good.... I've loved this place but the last 2 times it has not been good. One of those times the gel chipped an hour after and this last time it's really bumpy PLUS I was over charged!!!! Sorry but don't think I'm coming back... Even though Lan is so nice... read more

Worse experience ever!!! I made my appointment on Tuesday and the lady gave me the appointment on Thursday when I got there. She did not when call me to cancel. So I guess is just walk-ins. read more

Walked in and was seated right away. Tammy was really friendly and explained how to care for fake nails to make sure they last long. My nail shape turned out really well, and she really paid attention to detail. The price was great, they even offer a student discount. read more

Best results I have ever gotten! Professional staff and fair prices. The décor is really nice as well. I have been going to this place since I was 14 years old and I have not stopped goin ever since. They recently remodled the place and it looks even better than before. The staff is very small, about 4 people at the same time but there is usually not a wait. They do a really nice French tip and shellac manicures. I also love the gel and acrylic sets. They also do great waxing and pedicures. I highly recommend this place! read more

OK never again will I go. OK I went it to get a full set. my friend made me. And the lady that did my my nails cut me on three of fingers and didn't ieven bother to pay attention to it. I was just sitting there like hello I'm bleeding here are you gunna do something about it or not. And of course she did nothing about it so I didn't leave her a tip. But long story short the reason I gave it two stars because My stupid self went again but the lady that did my nails this time took her time and was never nice and wen she cut me she gave me a free design and a discount so I gave it two stars. read more

Nail technicians here are polite and take the time to shape your nails in your liking. Even if they are busy they give each customer the attention they deserve. They have a decent amount of gel colors to choose from. The nail technician that did my fill fixed two nails for me because another salon messed up badly, she did it an no extra charge either. read more

First time here, and it won't be the last! This will be my new go to local nail shop for now. The shop is small in size and staff, but it works perfectly. Not a glamorous or snazzy shop, but it has all the important things: very friendly staff, clean, nicely decorated, a great job on my pedicure, and good prices ($19)! read more

Worst nail shop ever. First of all, I made an appointment for 6pm, but they did not start helping me until 6:35pm. They clearly overbooked themselves with not enough staff. Secondly, my nails already have air bubbles and I left the nail salon less than an hour ago. They may be cheap, but definitely not worth your time or money. If I were you, spend the extra $5 and get better quality work. read more

I will NEVER go back to this place and never recommend it to anyone. Dirty place, rude workers and very messy. Cords all over the place, machines opened up and wires left hanging. Chairs and floors disgusting. Workers just sit and talk on their cell phones and do not even address you. Sat there for 15 minutes with this stupid lady yapping on her cell in some foreign language. She put my feet in COLD water, and continued to yap while she took off my polish and cut my nails. Of course she was not paying attention so she nicked my cuticle and it hurt. She did not even stop. I told her to stop immediately and not touch me. I said she was rude and incompetent and I would not be paying. All her and the rude manager could say was " No stay I sowwy" The manager also was sitting in a chair yapping on her cell phone in another language, but at least she had blue tooth. My chick sat there 1 handing my pedicure so she could talk.Yeah what ever... go back to where ever it is that encourages rudeness and disrespect. She didn't speak to me the whole time or ask what I wanted but I am sure she would have expected payment. I will be contacting the city and the state board. This place certainly was not up to cleanliness standards. read more

WOW only 2.5 stars?? I've been coming here for over 9 years and I do not have any complaints. Every time I call they make time to see me. The ladies are so friendly and provide great service!! :) read more

I've been coming to best nails since I was younger. They've gotten better over the years with the decor and the staffing. They have so many options and colors for gel manicures. The pedicures aren't rushed and the pricing is cheap in my opinion in comparison to other shops. I always just walk in and the wait is never more than 10 minutes. My nails always last for a little more than 2 weeks which is the longest I've ever had them last without chipping or coming off, so it's worth it trying this place out! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! The name does not fit this place, more like Worst Nails! I go to a lot of nail shops so I decided to try it out because it was close to me and I was in a hurry. I went in to get my fake nails removed and to get a manicure. After waiting about 20 mins, I got sat. She attempted to remover my nails, and then questioned me on why I was even getting them removed. She cut my thumb nail thinking it was the fake one and completely ruined it! Continued on to blaming me! One to my other hand, cut down my nail sooo short it cut the meat of my finger. Rushed through the rest and left the nails all uneven, so I asked if she could fix them. Finally as I leave I complained to the main lady I guess and the lady doing my nails was saying she did not do what she actually did. Blaming me once again! As they talked about me in their language. (Typical) I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! Horrible service and experience! read more
