Called a last minute fill and they were able to accommodate. Showed up at 4pm to my appointment a little confused bc Yelp shows them on one side of the street but their address shows them on the other. The address is correct Yelp is a little off. Anyways, Tanya was waiting for me outside. Immediately asked me to sit and got to work. I needed one nail replaced and the rest filled. The process was quick and simple. She didn't speak much which was fine with me I like to scroll through my phone while I get my nails done. She finished in 40mins and did an amazing job. I love supporting business owners when it is deserved and Tanya is definitely worth praise. She is so sweet and talented. I just loved her. Location: Her spot is located inside a Hair Salon so it's not your average nail shop atmosphere. At first I was a little thrown off by the location and her set up. There are no fancy massage chairs and it's just her with her own station set up the corner of the salon, but she is so friendly and talented that didn't even matter to me after I sat with her. Ambiance and personal experience: She was so comfortable with the client she was sitting with before me, it was clear that she had a loyal client base. When it was my turn she sat me down and prepped me for a manicure and pedicure. We got to talking and she told me that she preferred working alone and setting her own appointment times because she loved the personal relationships she develops with her clients. "When you're with me, your time is your time. I don't want anyone rushing me to take the next client." She expressed how much she loves what she does and enjoys her job even after all the years she'd been doing nails. I just fell in love with her personality and attitude. She made my experience so pleasant. Although she had taken me rather late, she didn't rush and actually was concerned with whether I was in a hurry. Quality of work: EXCELLENT. I am SUPER picky about my natural nails. I absolutely hate when a manicurist doesn't listen to me when I ask them to keep the shape of my nails, over file them, and worst of all, when he/she cuts the sides narrowing them. Tanya was such a gem and listened to exactly what I wanted. She kept the shape and length and only slightly cleaned up my cuticles. Her polishing is IMPECCABLE. She is so accurate and precise, hardly getting polish on my skin at all. She didn't dig into my skin with the tools and was gentle even with my pedicure. Cons: The shop is a hair salon. She is right by the window so it was extremely cold (although she did set a space heater up next to us to help). Summary: If you're looking for a truly great, passionate, friendly, considerate, and talented, long term manicurist, I would recommend Tanya in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a fancy spa experience with massage chairs, wine, etc., this is not the place for you. read more

I'm not that knowledgeable with all the fancy nail options and she gave me different options based on what i was asking for. She takes her time and is very meticulous with her work. I appreciated how gentle she was on my nails with the electronic filer (whatever it's called), i usually get really antsy about people using that and nicking me or removing a thick layer of my nail but she had control over it. On top of enjoying my time there, she produced a wonderful piece of art. I was really happy with the final product. She didn't make them too long, or thick. The color and shape turned out how i liked them to be. CHANGE OF LOCATION: She's moved from the Central location. She's now off of Cedar and Thornton in the home depot plaza. I got a shellac mani and regular pedi from Tanya for the first and last time. I read the Yelp reviews and was looking forward to some relaxation and great service. I realize she doesn't have any help but I didn't expect to have my feet sitting in a Homedics foot spa for over an hour while she worked on my manicure. Usually I go in for a mani and pedi, sit in a massage chair, read a magazine or talk to the technician. My feet were starting to wrinkle and because of blood circulation started to get itchy. She didn't make me feel welcome as a new client. When I tried to initiate a conversation or even asked her if I could blend two colors for my shellac manicure she gave me an odd look and a sarcastic smile and replied with just a no. I thought her English must be limited until she picked up a call from a customer that wanted to make an appointment. After the phone call ended she stopped working on me briefly to send a few text messages. On to the pedicure. She had just started my pedicure when her phone beeped and she stopped to check the message. She replied and then returned to work on my pedicure. Within a few seconds her phone beeped again and again she stopped to check her message. This time around she kept exchanging texts when I looked over to see she was sending messages via FB. So I asked her if she was sending messages to a customer. She replied and said no she was sending a message to her brother who wanted her to join him for karaoke. Really lady??!! You decided to do that while you are working on my pedicure? She obviously didn't get the hint and kept on texting. I wouldn't have been so annoyed if it were a client because I realize she works alone and needs to set up appts but usually a client would call. She was wearing a headset so even if a client calls to make an appt her hands would be free. She continued to message when I finally had it and said can you stop with the messaging and just finish my pedicure. She looked up surprised so I said it again. She didn't even apologize just worked on my pedicure without even saying a word. She didn't care to keep me as a client. She had this attitude that I should somehow feel privileged that she was working on me. My nails turned out wack, the polish on my fingernails started to chip the next day. I think the polish was old. I had to go back to her twice to get it fixed. I asked her to apply it again but I think she was out of the nailpolish so she refused and applied it just to chipped areas. I don't even get how she has a 5-star rating. read more

I am surprised at the great reviews because I was very disappointed. My pink and white gels look horrible. She started with the American Manicure pink color, without asking me what I wanted. With all of the pinks to choose from, why in the world, would she not ask what I wanted??? When I saw what she did, I told her that's the shade of pink I wanted. She happily took it off, but it was already embedded in the nail. So, the other hand was a completely different pink. She forgot to put gel on one nail, which I realized when I got home. Over the phone, she said a full set of pink and white gel tips were $45. I gave her my credit card and she charged me $1.45 more for using a cc! How tacky! Just be real over the phone! Tanya is amazing! This was only my second time getting my nails done and I could really tell the difference in care and attention to detail from my first experience. I called the morning of and was luckily able to get an appointment that afternoon. I've been wanting to get my nails done for months, and finally decided to since I had an event that night and will be going out of the country for the holidays. I had a little trouble finding her salon since it's small and there isn't a visible sign when driving, so I had to park and walk around to find it. Tanya seated me and started working on my nails right away. She didn't know what a stiletto shape was, but she did them perfectly after I explained. She always asked me if I liked how my nails were or if anything was wrong. She is a little on the pricier side, but hey she works alone and does an amazing job at what she does. So you pay for what you get! I was surprised for my total to be $55, since I was expecting around $40-45. But I did mean to ask beforehand what the total would be and to ask why the total came to be, but I'm not complaining since it was great service! Since I wasn't expecting the price, I only had $50 in my wallet but I knew I had a $5 somewhere on me. As I was rummaging through my pockets and purse looking for it, she told me that I didn't have to worry about it, but I ended up finding it and paid the remainder. I still feel bad since I wasn't able to tip her. Tanya is very sweet and super considerate, and I will definitely come back for my nails probably for my debut coming up! Im sorry to say this but i went here for my weding nails because all of the reviews we're pretty good. So I'll start from the begining, I got to her salon and that too i had to really look for it because she rents a little space in another salon. I get there and she was almost done with another lady, the wait wasn't the problem. She sits me down, while she speaking to someone on the phone, I tell her that I want her to take off my old nails and give me a new set. She was really gentle and I didn't feel a thing when she was taking my old set off. Then she started glueing the new set on and asked how short I wanted it, I told her from the length she had how I wanted it, and she messed up so she took it off and did it again. Then i told her that I want the Ballerina/Coffin shape to my nails, she didn't respond to me and started to do them. Then I told her I want a pink and white faded look, I showed her a picture as well. She didn't tell me she couldn't do that. Mind you that that those are suppose to be done with acrylic powder, so she startes to do them and they look so crappy! And she ended up doing a whole hand before she showed me, and I was so upset because theres are my wedding nails! They were choppy and looked nothing like they were faded. So I told her to please remove them and just use a nude polish. Tanya starts to take me off and does the regular powder so she can paint them, after that she started to file them, I had to keep telling her to narrow my nails because she wasn't doing the right shape. I was so frustrated and I had been sitting there for 3 hours now. She finally gets to the design and she did that nicely, at the end of EVERYTHING she has the audacity to ask me to pay 75 Dollars! I'm the type of person to pay, so I did. But I have never paied that much for simple nails, and everything I had gone through with her for three hours, I just can't believe she charged me that.
