This place is tucked away in Niles and honestly getting there seems kind of sketch. But the deals are unbeatable. Got two sets of acrylics, two pedicures, and eyebrows threaded for well under $200. The quality of the acrylic set I would say was a 7.5/10 though. Mainly due to the placement of the nail and the filing. This set did last me over 4 weeks with no breakage. I remembered why I didn't return after my first experience here two years ago -- unsanitary and disappointing. My nail technician was rude, just like during my last visit. I understand language barriers and that people express themselves differently, but this felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I only wanted regular polish, but she repeatedly pushed gel even after I said no, even comparing me to other clients who "spend more" on gel. What really crossed the line was when my phone slipped and she raised her eyebrows and called me "messy." I asked her, what do you mean. Then she says you messed up your nail... The prices were so much better than a lot of other places I've been to where I could spend almost $100 on acrylic. Here I paid just a little more than half that with the tip included! Went with family to get manicures and pedicures. Good value for gel manicure and pedicure. Make sure to make an appointment before hand. We called morning of and had to wait a bit before we got started but that's okay because we were seated in the massage chairs and enjoyed. They have a good amount of space with two different rooms. They have you wash your hands upon arrival to help keep everyone safe. I would come back here again with family. read more

Really weird. Like, I'm more baffled than mad. After Sunday brunch with some friends, I walked in on a whim to try out builder gel. When I asked if they had any, they kept directing me to the gel and acrylic examples, which are not the same thing. Eventually, they handed me a cardboard box of unopened jars of powder, calling it builder gel (it's not). Oh well, I'm still getting my nails done and that's nice. The experience was rougher than I'm used to. Conversation was nice and she was obviously experienced but the process was different so I didn't always know what we were doing, e.g. curing or adding glue under my nails. A friend tagged along so I was also chatting with them during the process. At the end, nail powder residue was still all over my hands and rubbed in with the lotion, which covered up how rough my cuticles were. You can see them in the attached photos. After paying $50 (includes tip), I walked out to notice that one of my nails was ridiculously crooked. I don't even know if the photo fully shows just how weirdly tilted it is. You can also see spots of blood where I got nicked or pricked by the tools. There's another one where my skin connects under the nail and it is sealed with a thick layer of glue. But hey, what am I going to do - redo it at the same place? I'm not going to rage about it but it was just wild. I'd rather have my $50. read more

Walked in with the hubby on a weekday morning after breakfast and they were able to take us right away. We both had a basic pedi and they did a good job. Standard service for a nail salon nothing fancy. With prices these days they're reasonable for a pedi. Will definitely return. read more

I am super dissatisfied with the French tip manicure I got today at pretty nails. I came in with my daughter to get our nails done for an event today. The lady that did my nails was a bit shakey but I gave her the benefit of the doubt! She cut my skin in a few areas. During the process I told her I did not like the white tip ROUND and thought she understood me, she kept working without acknowledging my concerns. Anyway this is the WORST French tip I've ever had! 3 different workers and the owner looked at my nails and they shook their heads and apologized for the bad look. What was more disappointing is that I was not offered a discount. I paid the full $37. I don't think she has enough experience. I do not recommend this place. 5/23/24 UPDATE The owner was kind enough to acknowledge the issue and gave us credit on our next visit. My daughter is very happy with her nails, so updating my review! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing Haley is here!!! I've been getting my nails done here for over 5 years now, and the quality just keeps getting better. I don't live in the bay area anymore, but I always make a stop here when I'm visiting because it's genuinely so good. Pretty nails is the cheapest nail place I could find in the area; however, although it is cheap - the quality and service isn't compromised. Although I don't get my nails done often, I've been coming here for the past 5 years whenever there's a special occasion to get my nails done. I've gotten simple acrylics and was always pleased with the quality! I recently got a gel pedicure here! The total was $35 and I had an amazing experience. There are nice massage chairs, and my nail lady was so kind. My toes turned out amazing, and I'll definitely be coming again! read more

The salon is very spacious, clean, and the nail technicians are very detailed and particular; my technician named Ni wiped off my entire French tip if it wasn't perfect. The workers here also seem to really enjoy each other's company. The underside of nails could be a little cleaner, the dip and nails could have been filed down more; but they were so careful checking constantly if they got paint on my fingers that I didn't feel any pain under the UV light. This place is better than other salons, even in NY, that cost twice as much. All of that and it's located on the cute street of Niles! My new go-to. read more

When I got home, I realized part of the skin on my upper eyelid had been ripped off during the waxing. I contacted the salon immediately, and the owner was trying to help me... however, I understand asking whether I was on antibiotics is a standard question, but even after I explained that I wasn't on any medication and sent a photo clearly showing a skin tear, I felt the focus was more on finding another explanation than acknowledging the injury. I followed every aftercare instruction exactly as advised, applying ointment every three hours and avoiding hot water for the next 36 hours. When my eyelid remained swollen and painful, I reached out again and asked if they could refund my eyebrow service. Instead, I was told : " I'm sorry it still is in bad condition but it looks like you didn't use any ointment like I suggested" As someone who cares about my skin and previously worked in the aesthetics industry, that assumption was extremely disappointing because I had followed their instructions carefully. I understand that accidents can happen during waxing. What disappointed me was how that was handled afterward. As a long-time customer, I expected more professionalism and accountability.

No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. Helen and the ladies at Pretty Nails in Niles are very sweet and make every effort to spoil their customers with warm towels wrapped around your legs after a pedicure and a neck and upper back massage after mani, pedi or fill. This salon is in my neighborhood, here in Niles and I couldn't be more thrilled to frequent it. My only concern is that it can take some time to be served IF you DO NOT have an appointment. So, the lady who was upset about waiting, likely did not have an appointment. Call ahead or just walk- in, either is fine with them, but be prepared to wait, if you don't have an appointment. I decently visited for a pedicure, but unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience. During the service, my nail was cut too deeply, causing bleeding and discomfort by a nail technician name T. While accidents can happen, I was disappointed by the lack of proper care and attention to detail. I had to tend to the wound myself and felt uneasy about the overall hygiene standards. The women here work quickly and effectively. My fills last for months - out of work and out of funds. Their pedicures are also well done and the leg massage with hot lotion is a dream. The pedi or mani end with a good shoulder massage., I was there when the health inspector came and they got an A for cleanliness and record keeping. I'd recommend this very inexpensive and high quality salon. I come from Santa Rosa and wait until I'm in Niles for my treatments. read more

Helen and her team of nail techs are amazing! I can walk in with an inspiration photo and Helen can figure out how to accomplish the look. Everyone at Pretty nails are friendly and professional. I would recommend calling ahead of time to make an appointment, as they can get busy! However, they do take walk-ins. On top of the great service and quality work, the prices are affordable. I love this place!! Ruby is AMAZING! Her work is great and she's a sweetheart! Lots of mani & pedi stalls and they almost always get you started in 10-15 without an appt! They also have a private room upon request! Great place for groups and would make a great gift to give! I've been to many nail saloons and trust me i've had a few good ones but mostly bad ones. Unitl i came here, they're completely affordable and they do a very good job with the manicures. Normally my manis last for only a couple of days and thats when its starts to chip but not here. Ive had them on for five days and they still look great. read more

I specifically told the nail technician to be gentle and to only trim it, not remove it. Despite this, the toenail was ripped off completely. I am in significant pain and it will now take several months for the nail to grow back. The experience did not stop there. My cuticles were also filed aggressively, even after I repeatedly asked for it to stop. At one point, I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously because she laughed at me. I left in discomfort that required them to apply Vaseline before I left due to irritation. I will not be posting a photo as the injury is graphic. This was a genuinely upsetting experience and I would not want anyone else to go through something similar. I would strongly recommend others consider going elsewhere. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER - Yes, $5.50 was taken off my bill. However, that does not come close to addressing what happened.
