We live in the area so decided to check out the salon and it was great! The lady is super sweet and she made us feel so pampered during our visit. It's only her so it's a bit slower since she had to work one at a time, but I had no issue sitting longer in the massage chair while my mom got her pedicure :) we each got a pretty light pink color and it turned out beautiful. She took her time with our scrubs, massages, and nail trimming to make sure it looked great. Normal pedi was $35 which is not bad at all - I will be coming back here regularly! Thank you! read more

The lady was rude and didn't even offered to help me. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is huge to me, and greeting people with a smile is huge before you put your hand out and ask for money for services. So I decided to stop here because traffic was 5x heavier than normal. Wanting to let the traffic die down I searched for the closet shop to me. Romance is a very small shop. There was only one lady, who was unoccupied. She greeted me and she was very nice. The pedicure was your typical pedi. Nothing more or less. I will point out that she massages my legs for quite a while. I'm sure it was due to the fact that I was the only customer and no one else came in. I am surprised by the 5 star reviews on here. I went in on in on an early Friday morning and I was the only one in the salon. I'm pretty sure the two ladies working were the owners. One reluctantly took me to her chair. Here is a breakdown of how my gel manicure went. Rude lady doesn't acknowledge me. I am trying to be friendly but she is downright rude. Maybe she is mad that she had to do my nails? Rude lady is staring at the vietnamese drama that is playing on the tv. Literally stopping in between doing my nails and Watching her show for minutes in between til the other lady changes the station. Rude lady is shoving my cuticles and hurting me. I still tip rude lady. Why? Why? Why? My nails look like shit. 3 days laters, my nails are Catching at the bottom and one of the nails chips off. This was my first time getting my nails done at a nail salon, so I didn't really know what to expect! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed Romance! The two ladies who did my nails were really nice and did a very detailed job. I was especially happy with my pedicure. The lady did such a nice job! The prices are exteremly reasonable as well. Today was my first time in this nail salon and I had a very positive experience! When I first walked in I was skeptical because the shop is a little run down and outdated... and I wasn't greeted. HOWEVER, after about a 10 minute wait I was seated and taken care of. The lady who did my nails (I'm assuming the owner- only 2 women were working) was incredibly kind and outgoing once we started chatting. She spent a long time massaging/cutting cuticles/perfecting my nails & I was happy with the result. I just started getting my nails done recently and was happy to find that I live right by here. They are very friendly and the ladies changed the television channel so I could enjoy it too, which I thought was very kind of them. i thought they did a great job and the gel polish is not expensive and is still staying on my nails (nail polish rarely ever stays on and the last time I had gel polish on, it started to come off right away)! I've been going to this salon for over 10 years now and I have to say that I'd never tried another nail salon, just never had a need to. They've been consistently great and Holly is a shining star of the salon. Their rates are very reasonable and they come with an amazing foot massage for a pedicure and a hand massage for a manicure. The actual reason I chose them was a conveniently close location and 10 years ago it was a completely random choice (no yelp to rely on). But like I said, they are wonderful, and over the years the salon has improved in terms its sanitary appearance. This was one of the first time i've got my nails done at a salon in a while. I got a mani and pedi for $33 in total but that was also because i got a special design. I thought the ladies were very nice. They spoke vietnamese and asked me questions and in general it was a nice experience. But, my nails did chip a little bit later... The ladies were friendly, but during my pedi/manicure they kept turning their heads to watch a soap serie on tv. Do NOT come here for arm waxing. The woman who waxed my arms was giving someone a manicure before she waxed my arms and she did not wash her hands or apply hand sanitizer between us 2 customers. I even asked the woman if she would please wash her hands but she seemed to not understand what I was saying and so she did not wash her hands. As she began waxing my arms, I could tell she wasn't very familiar with how to wax arms. Though she did try to be pretty thorough, her technique was very poor and it was clear she had not waxed many arms before. After she finished waxing my first arm, my arm got covered in big swollen bumps. I have been getting my arms waxed for 10 years now, and these bumps are not uncommon. It's just a little skin irritation that usually goes away within a day or two. Usually I just get 3 or 4 on one arm. This time, I had about 30 swollen bumps on just one arm. In my personal opinion, I think this is because her hands were dirty and covered in manicure chemicals and my skin did not respond well to it. Before she started doing my second arm, I asked her to again wash her hands so I would not have as bad of a reaction on my second arm. The woman again didn't really understand what I was saying and the more I tried to explain it to her, the more offended she seemed to get. I should have just left but I stayed and let her wax my other arm which then like my first arm got completely covered in big swollen bumps which 2 days later have hardly gone away or gotten better. So happy I drove over here after the place I usually go to in Niles - opened 15 minutes late then asked me to wait until they took care of their appointments. I won't go back there. I phoned to this salon and was told they could take me right away. i was greeted with a warm welcome and immediately seated. Can't believe I've been missing the tranquility in this salon. I've been coming here about a year or so and I didn't think about writing a review up until now. It's a great location since my daughter goes to the next door martial arts studio, so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I usually get my $10 manicure from Holly. She's quick, detailed, sweet and always accommodating. The salon has enough selection of nail polish but I usually bring my own. I've been coming here for awhile since you can't find a manicure for $10. Prices around my neighborhood have gone up to $13 just for a basic manicure. And you don't feel rush and there aren't loud teens talking about their boyfriends and acting crazy. Go try them out. They're reasonable, clean, and very sweet. What else do you need?! read more

Okay, so i went here to get a manicure/pedicure. This place was joke!!!! They didnt clean out the foot spa after the previous client. When i said something about it she said it was fine. I should have just left then! When she was doing my pedi she asked me if wanted my toenails trimmed, i said a little bit, she cut them so short it hurts! After when my toes were getting painted, i was getting a french tip, i told her The tips were way uneven, she got super defensive. Then when i was getting a manicure, i was getting a french tip as well, with flower on one nail. The flower looked like a child painted it! i had her take it off and just leave the design off. Then i noticed that all of the tips were uneven again! I told the lady and she tried to argue with me and say its my fault! I was so annoyed.
