I've been a loyal customer for 8 years even when i moved to a different city I still came here to do my mani and pedis. I even brought family and friends to this place. Sadly, I will not be coming back to this place. I came to do my nails (French tip) with Lisa. Barely a week in my tips were turning brown, and the paint was cracking! I had to wear it like this to the event I was going to And TO My job. The last time I addressed this problem Christina said it was the heat from flat ironing my hair. This time it's my fault bc of "chemicals I'm using". (No I did not use any heat or hair dye in my hair and I don't tan!) when I texted Christina how can I fix it she said come in and so I did. When I got there I can tell the atmosphere was different. They were asking if I dyed my hair, did I go tanning, and I told them again NO. they kept talking in between questions in their native tongue I started getting uncomfortable at that point. Terrible experience. Both my pedicure and manicure techs were sighing, rushing, and handling my nails roughly--dropping tools carelessly throughout the service. Extremely unprofessional. The older nail techs are very limited in shaping and can't do much beyond basic round or square. The owner shapes nails better, but she's rude for no reason as well. The prices are far too high to tolerate this level of rudeness and poor service. Interestingly, their attitude suddenly improves toward the end--right when it's time to tip. My pedicure looks good, but owner rushed thru me and made me feel like "I can't wait to get done with you so I can move on to another customer..". She obviously was having a bad day cuz her attitude was cold and a bit rude. The other gal I usually went to would massage my feet and legs and it was a relaxing experience... I called for an appointment with the person who usually does my manicure and pedicure. Unfortunately she's out of the country, but I wasn't even offered to let someone do my services. Instead I was as told to wait until she came back. I don't understand the dynamics of how the owner runs her business. It was distasteful. Excellent customer service. Tam was the sweetest, very friendly and understanding. I brought my young teen here so she could get her eyebrows done for the first time and get a pretty manicure. Tam understood that i wanted to keep her eyebrows thick just with some clean up and little bit of shape. She made sure my daughter looked her age with a nice thick shape. My daughter also has long beautiful natural nails Tam did an amazing manicure without trying to convince to get acrylic or gel nails. It was a random Wednesday afternoon and was able to walk in and got a pedicure and got set of fake nails. The person who was doing my nails was really gentle and took there time in doing them. My nails came out perfect and lasted over 4 weeks and it didn't chip or get lift. read more

Well, I made an appointment for my mom (pedicure) and I (fill & pedi) for 1pm. They sat my mom first to start... I waited about 5 min before I said I also had the same appt. They had me sit at the pedi chairs too. 15 mins pass again while my feet are being soaked, I ask politely when they would start on me as it's 1:20 now. The had 3 employees working at the time; the tech up front had 2 nail appointments. And 1 was "finishing" up a full set. And 3rd was working with my mom. Long story short, they only take appointments supposedly and no walk ins so how was my appointment delayed ..? Then when I wanted a design on my hands, they couldn't do it cuz the 2 ladies didn't know how to do designs. I ended up with just getting butterfly stickers 3 hours later and left unsatisfied. After having been in the East Bay for a little over a year, I have finally made the transition to find a local nail salon. I used to drive all the way to Pacifica before. I'm glad I found a nail tech who is friendly and attentive to details. Also, the prices at Christina's Nail Salon is reasonable. Based on other reviews, I called ahead to schedule an appointment for a gel pedicure a little less than a week in advance. Definitely make an appointment before you visit. I wasn't particular about who I wanted. The plaza does not get too busy. So, there are plenty of parking spots available. I came early and was greeted/seated immediately. My nail tech was Kim. She immediately turned on the massage chair. We chatted randomly about life throughout the service. The pedicure was extremely relaxing. I added the hot wax treatment for my pedicure and almost fell asleep during the wax and massage treatment. Kim also took the extra step in helping me choose/sample colors that would match my dresses for my trip. I told her I wanted to get my nails done before my vacation as well but I broke 2 of my nails pretty short. My finger was slight sore from the short/torn nail but no open wound. She took a look and eased my concerns. We were able to squeeze in a gel manicure before her next appointment. She matched the rest of nails to a similar length and was gentle prepping my nails. Ive never been able to find a nail tech who was willing to take her time and actually teach me what i did wrong and how i can correct myself when peeling gel nails off. Surprised at the poor change in customer service! Had an unpleasant experience today that started when the nail tech chipped a nail while buffing it. Instead of offering a courtesy nail extension, she shrugged it off saying "nail broke." and requested an additional charge for the extension. The owner echoed the same response offering no sympathy for the broken nail, but finally allowed a courtesy extension. When we had picked out a nail color, the technician showed us the empty bottle and gave us hardly a few minutes to choose an alternative. She rushed us by repeating "hurry. i have no time." Note: there were no other customers waiting in line at the salon. Feeling pressured, we chose a color we weren't too sure about and the technician immediately took the books away from us so we couldn't change it. This was especially frustrating since the service was for a gel manicure which meant we'd have to live with that color for weeks. Turns out, at the end of our service, the customer behind us requested the same color that we had first asked for and her nail tech pulled out a brand new set from the back. I wish I had better things to say. My overall salon experience was not bad. I made an appointment the night before with Tammy and she began a few minutes after our scheduled appointment. At other salons, I've had the manicure and pedicure done at the same time - today, only Tammy worked on my nails, so she did my feet first, then my hands. Tammy was fairly decent at cleaning and shaping my nails. She did a good job on my feet (I did the upgraded pedicure with callus removal and regular nail polish). Overall, both mani and pedi took 2 hours, and while she did work hard, here are the things that left me a bit disappointed with my manicure and overall experience: 1) I showed Tammy a picture of what I wanted for my for my fingernails. It was a simple request - 3/5 fingernails were painted milky white with 2 having glitter. While she did try to follow the design, she took creative liberties to make it "simple/better." When I did point it out, she said her way looked better and after a few attempts, I gave up. 2) All this was fine, but then she charged me an extra $7 for applying a "design" even though all she did was add some glitter. This is where I got upset. Not only was I unhappy with the overall design, but I had to pay for it! 3) I'm not sure if it was a procedural error, but my gel manicure did not last very long. I got it on Friday 2/17 and by the following weekend 2/24, the gel was coming off. I had got the nails done the weekend before my baby shower and you can see the nails chipping in the photo. It started by lifting and then, slowly the entire nail polish came off on each nail. I want to this salon while visiting my parents in Fremont and went back home to SoCal after the weekend, so there was not much I/they could do even if I had complained. Overall, based on the price, overall look and how long my gel manicure lasted, I cannot recommend this salon in the future. I hope other people who come here don't have this experience - good luck. read more

I wanted coffin it came out more square but I didn't have time to complain bout it because she was working so slow. On top of that she doesn't know how to put nail polish on! My nails came out looking thick and chunky! And when I complained a tiny bit to her she was like "I didn't do anything I only put two coats" I'm like I know , I don't know why it's like this but it is. This place is not pleasing to the eye and I suggest a little upgrade as I think they have been here awhile. I was looking for a place that caters to late openings. Very very convenient that they are open till 7p on Saturday's. Thank goodness for Yelp listings. Located in the same plaza as CVS and Starbucks in Newark. There is plenty of parking, too. The ladies here were very nice and friendly. I really liked their massage chairs as it not only massages the back but the bottom as well! ;-) The young lady that did my nails did a great job on my boring nails. I usually only like French tip style as it looks like my nails! Why change and so what if it cost a little more!? My mom and I got their $35 pedi set that has cleaning, massage, waxing. After getting your nails done, there is a table that has a dryer for your hands and feet! It was pretty cool and unique as I have never seen one before. They provide enough big TV's to watch. Ask to watch the game!! They have lots of signs that say 'smile for the camera'! Me, too! Watch out for mine! Hahaha They prefer cash but they accept card. Back again, at Christina's Nails! Definitely my new go-to place! My old place in Milpitas just wasn't cutting it. I came back to Christina again even though she is far from me, but it just so worth it. I couldn't decide on a color, being indecisive me, but she put both the color on my nails to see which I like better. Just that alone give me more confidence on what I pick instead of "whelp it's too late to go back now." And praise the lord that she know how to actually do a ombré effect on nails! (compared to my old place) Throughout the whole process, she was very detail on the nails. It just show how she really care about you and your nails. I'm holding my breath as I share this review because i want to keep this place a secret so badly. I have never been so happy with a full set like Christina does them! IF going to a nail salon is a gamble for you every. single. time... I get it! My stubborn nail shape stumps so many nail technicians. They look like thick almonds 85% of the time from other salons. It's so frustrating to pay for a service and be the victim of a poor nail job bc the nail tech fails to self evaluate their work. But it's perfect here. every time! I never understood why people get manicures regularly until Christina. I finally understand why loyal clients drive hours to see their nail technician.
