I love mom and pop donut shops and Best Donuts is one of my favorites when in Phoenix. Not only do they have a great assortment to choose from throughout the day, the lady that works the counter (assuming the owner) is always super friendly. Because I was buying a large quantity (10 dozen), I made sure to call ahead. They took my order, gave some suggestions and told me when I could pick up my sweet treats. She even gave me a call the day before to make sure I was still coming and to confirm the order. Pick-up was a breeze and everyone who consumed one was an instant fan. We recently had a quality issue and I called it in and they offered an entire dozen free, I never went to pick up the dozen; I showed up this morning after weeks of this incident and they remembered my face and name and added that dozen to my order. So definitely has become my favorite donut place as of today! They serve soft but dense donuts (unlike Krispy Kremes..soft and dissolves in your mouth) even if you come in kinda late on a Saturday morning. I have only been here a few times, but have had an excellent experience all those times, we usually get the dozen donut with a variety to try as many flavors as we can. My fave is the chocolate bar...but last time we were here I ordered the crumb cake and it was bomb!!! It was more of a cake than a donut but who cares...it was delicious! Buy some milk to go with it, or coffee...if you can't take much of the sweetness. Worst customer service ever. I went in asking for 14 dozen donut holes. Then she got a little bag and filled it up with 14 donut holes. I said I would like 14 dozen; she said she didn't hear me and got a bigger box. She then said why don't you just get 50 donut holes. I said forget it and walked out. If you are too lazy to count the donut holes then take them off the menu. Never going back again. They definitely lack customer service there. read more

First time come here, I got a coconut glaze donut. It was fresh. The texture of donut was soft, almost melting in my mouth. There was a different taste into it that make me want to bite more until the last bite. The glaze was light, not thick and super sweet. I hope the same thing on the other donut when I try it. I'm still making my way through all of the options but so far I have not been disappointed. I especially like the French vanilla iced coffee... I am not a big donut person but occasionally I'll try a new place. Their Chocolate cake crumb was a 4 on a scale of 1-5. Also had a chocolate bar donut and it was eh...it was very bread-like, lacked moisture, not as soft & tender as Sunrise donuts. Lastly I ordered a bagel to go & toast at home since I'd bought some cream cheese & I gotta say this was not a bagel at all. I'd call it bread shaped like a bagel. The consistency was definitely lacking. I've had ALOT of bagels, this should definitely not be considered one. Not sure how they have 5 stars but I wasn't too impressed with the flavors or consistency of the products. I will say they were really nice, hence the 3 rating instead of 2 for the food. read more
