So when friends asked if I were interested in joining them for an art exhibit, followed by dinner at Oceano, I could not say YES fast enough. I am thrilled to say the wait was worth it. All the chips fell into place when after a small wait we were seated outside (what luck), found our waiter was from Croton-on-the-Hudson (had to wait a year before he was able to land a job at Oceano), and our food was paced perfectly. Started with the Grilled Cucumber Salad that included sumac-labneh, medjool date, berbere spice pickle, pistachio, and the Sugar snap Pea Salad of rhubarb, pecorino, stracciatella, mint, lemon, marcona almond. Next up, Pizza! Had to of course start with the Straight Shooter Pizza which was a simple pie of tomato, mozz, basil, pecorino, good olive oil. Pizza #2 was the Zuchinni Pizza, a white pie of hazelnut, lemon, asiago, mozz, parm, stacciatella. To round out the meal we had the Gnocci Sardi. This was an utterly delicious bowl of pasta that included duck confit, morels, peas, parm, creme fraiche, fines herbs, wild ramps. Super meal with smiles all around. There are two restaurants I feel are super deserving of a Michelin Star in my area, and Oceano is definitely one of them! Not super close to me, but I see a few summer nights at the bar with a salad, pizza, and glass of wine in my future.

I sampled the pepperoni and spinach pizzas, but since I'm not a big pizza person, they just weren't my favorites. Thankfully, there were plenty of other delicious options. There were burgers and fries to try as well as shrimp potstickers- the potstickers ranked high for me! The atmosphere is what really makes this place special. Sitting outside overlooking the golf course is peaceful and beautiful, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. Running into a friend there was the icing on the cake! I also appreciated that the staff seemed genuinely friendly instead of forcing small talk. Overall it felt like an easy place to sit, eat, and unwind for a while.

All staff keep telling you " it's going to get better". It did not strike me as bad to start with so we will see. Staff all surprised by quick sale last week but seem excited about it. Apparently someone from Canada who has experience running numerous franchise restaurants branching out to Florida. All very unusual- not least that every person who entered was told of new ownership. Immediately bar soon to be open? Ladies Bathroom out of soap so perhaps one change would be to check toilets. As a result cannot recommend or say bad word but watch this space and we plan to go again in a few months to see if they have soap in the ladies
