Stopped in for Happy Hour a couple of times this past month, as well as the first time for Brunch with friends in town visiting. HH is always great, often making selections from both the HH menu and the regular menu... the fantastic Pork Chop, raw bar and Cheese Selections are regularly in play. I don't often do brunch but this may change after my first time here on a Sunday. A chance to try Chef Blake's Fried Chicken (w waffles) is reason alone to come in. Absolutely loved it. Starters of Deviled Eggs, Shrimp Cocktail, OJ and excellent French Press Coffee. The Strawberry French Toast was a big hit with one person, Croissant Benedict with Lump Crabmeat also pleased. Wine room near fails! Met a friend for apps and drinks and had a blast! Picture a room full of self serve soda fountains but instead of soda it's wine! This is actually perfect because no matter what your preference is, we'll find something you like! No more worrying over what bottle to split when everyone has a different palette. The food is also incredible, which tracks because with good wine you need good food. Tonight I kept it simple and just had the shishito peppers, bacon, wrapped dates, and the calamari. This is a top class restaurant and wine bar. The staff here are amazing. They really take care of you and everybody here cares about their job and the industry. They are always looking to better themselves, and the restaurant. Always taking constructive criticism and improving the whole vibe of the restaurant. The food is exceptional. The seafood is very fresh. I always get the oysters when I am in town. The mushroom gnocchi is outstanding! They also have excellent steaks as well. Last night I ordered the escargot, and it was phenomenal. Meaty and delicious. Perfectly prepared. I also had the butternut squash ravioli. While on the sweet side, it was very good. Very indulgent. I highly recommend getting a blackened protein with it to help cut through the sweetness. It could also use a bit of acid as well. Their wine selection is very good. This place is adorable. I love how you can try the different wines and the fact that you can pour yourself is amazing and fun. We went for happy hour and we loved the food. The hummus was delicious, but needed more pita served with it. The Shishito peppers were spot on, and I would get those again, however, the serving size was very small. I went to The Wine and Spirits Kitchen for brunch. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but all I can say is that it superseded all my expectations. The ambiance in the inside where I sat was private and quaint. The service was pleasant and the food and drinks were very good. They had live entertainment who favored Billy Joel songs, and that is always a plus in my book. I could have sat there for hours drinking Bloody Mary and listening to Billy Joel songs. Went here to try their new happy hour menu and I am SO happy with the new change! They offer a lot of great deals on food and drinks for happy hour. I tried the salmon plate for the first time, which was delicious; I loved the corn and crispy skin on top. The drinks are all well crafted and delicious. Our server was amazing, he lightened the mood with his good humor, jokes, and recommendations. He was very honest about which dishes were good and not so good, and where there was a good deal, which was incredibly appreciated. The food was so quick to come out! We didn't have to wait long. I was a huge fan of the Wine Room. My friends and I were so sad when they changed happy hour and increased the prices. Now, not only did they decrease the prices and introduce delicious new drinks and food, but they increased seating for happy hour! So we no longer have to fight for a spot at the bars. I've been going to this location for years. I love the remodel. I came in for a friend's birthday this time. Ryan was our server. He was very personable and attentive with great energy. We ordered from the happy hour menu. I ordered flatbread and brussel sprouts. Everything came out hot and delicious. My husband ordered the deviled eggs and bacon skewers. He said his food was really good. Max, the sommelier, is always helpful with selecting wines based on your tastes. He always helps me select interesting wines. I love the Caymus 50th anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon. I like trying tastes of wine using my card, so I can try more higher end brands without breaking the bank. read more

The good, the bad and the ugly. The good: our food. Three different steaks, all perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. The sea bass was also terrific- and quite flavorful. Our sides were really good, especially the sautéed mushrooms and the lyonnaise potatoes. We ordered a charcuterie board to accompany our cocktail. Unfortunately, despite a mostly empty restaurant, it took them over 20 minutes to serve it, and that was after my prodding them three times. The rest of the service was really poor as well. One runner made three separate trips to serve our mains, and no one brought serving spoons for the sides. My friend had to remind our waiter twice to bring his refill cocktail. Finally, although the setting is lovely, they kept adjusting the lights - from low and romantic to bright and glaring. Given the very high prices, and despite the food, we won 't be back. read more

I hate to say it, but "meh". Our server was very nice. Ordered some wines and it was a good start. The rounds of appetizers came out. I immediately started enjoying the whipped ricotta, yum! However, the chicken lollipop app our friend ordered had hair... not one, but several... like it was dropped or something. That set a weird feeling of course for all the food. They brought us out another and kept it on the bill, like nothing happened. Next, for 20$ a wine, you'd this they'd check for wine glass chips. My friend had one glass chipped and my glass at the end was chipped. I didn't realize until my last sip when it just hardly tugged on my lip. We sat for a good 20 minutes or so after apps were cleared to get entrees. My bf and I added two more wines... meant to finish our dinner with.. but got them pretty late when we wanted the bill. We considered several times on cancelling them, and should have. So basically just drank them so we could leave. Also, no split checks.... Never worked at a place that simply wouldn't do this for two parties, so I'll never understand. It's definitely not complicated. I personally enjoyed my food, but overall, a little bummed on our visit. We also didn't get to try the Brussel sprouts my friend ordered, but never were rung in. It was definitely not what I hoped for on our double date night. Would have been alright spending close to $300 after tip elsewhere, plus the 100$ my friend spent separately on a wine card for refills. read more

Very cool cocktail menu - I tried the Penicillin which is hard to find most places. My parents love the smoked old fashioned and my husband got a mezcal drink that was very good. We have always loved coming here to The Wine Room. The set up is so conducive to tasting new wines, great food which most wine bars lack and a great store attached to the dining and tasting room. The tastings are dispersed through measured wine pours from dispensers organized by whites vs reds and similar veriatles. The pour sizes are different, to either taste the wine or pour larger amounts to drink. Its a great way to discover new wines. All this while ordering from a large variety of food off their menu. They serve delicious flatbreads, salads, small plates and a full menu of entrees. It's not your typical wine bar that is limited on food. We went for their Happy Hour which is a great deal. Wines by the glass for $7.00 and several food items with attractive Happy Hour prices. We ordered the Whipped Riccatta served with Baquettes and the Bacon Wrapped Dates. Perfect for our late afternoon wine tasting. Happy Hour is definitely the deal. To get the wines out of the machines to taste you need to load up a card with money to put into a slot on the dispenser, the pick your wine and size pour. This is the place for a great wine happy hour. They have some top shelf wines which makes this a lot of fun. If the wines you taste and like are available in the store, they do have reasonable prices on those bottles, only for take home at those prices. If you are in Delray Beach, best to stop in later in the day for some light bites and great wines. Very comfy atmosphere and so many options in wine and food. read more

My friends and I went there for our Galentine's Day. We made reservation as it was on Valentine's Day and the place was packed. The ambience is very nice. As you can see in the first videos, they have a wine selection. The wine selection is easy to use, you get a card prepaid card and get your wine. Your regular card will not work and they are very helpful. For anybody who is into wine tasting, this can be a thing. Now into appetizer. When I tell you that I had the best escargot!!!! Chef kiss!! Their Stuffed Dates were flavorful but also sweet which is (in my opinion) a must have for brunch. The Charred Octopus was divine!!! It was cooked to perfection and is a must try on that menu. Sixty South Atlantic Salmon and Coq au Vin!! I packed my food to go because the way I wanted to savor that chicken was not restaurant friendly. The only coq au vin I had was almost 10 years ago made by my favorite Haitian chef. When I tell you that Chef Blake made my unconditional loyalty and love for my favorite chef waivers. On the night we were there, the piano player played a lot of Billy Joel. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We started with the beet salad, followed by the miso glazed fish and pasta. For dessert we had the bread pudding. It was topped with delicious ice cream that we were told is made in house. Went back and it deserves another rant! Do Note, Charcuterie boards have smaller portions, if you have a bigger appetite choose the burger or chicken sandwich. Angry shrimp is a great app too with hint of spicy - nothing crazy on the hot scale. Service is always impeccable specially with Ryan* as your go to for the wine suggestions. The new look and feel was a great improvement. OHHH if you are whiskey enthused there's great news for you too! WINE WINE WINE... I do not like wine but I had to take a peek at this interesting pay, pour, sip cheese restaurant and wine bar, with a secret speak easy room. The wife pre-paid money on a card at the front room. Tons of select wine pour machines are wrappped around the bar. You pick your wine that you like, place your card into the machine, then pour the wine into your glass and sip away. I took a sip of the Merlot but not my thing at all. The average few ounces of wine was $8.00. They also had a full liquor bar and a cheese course kitchen. The huge wine cellar room was an incredible sight. There were many tables with white table cloths and silverware. Its the type of place set up perfectly for great photos, which we took several. The bathroom was very clean. read more

I like the concept of The Wine Room, and the staff were so friendly and happy to explain wine, cheeses, the $ matching specials that they offered on Wednesday. Bonus, daily happy hours including on Sunday when we went! There were a lot of wine options, some affordable at $2.50 per ounce, and others high-end and fancy at $20 an ounce. They also had a full bar with a full kitchen, so it's really a place to make a group happy. While we were told to seat ourselves in the bar area when we arrived, we didn't get menus or even a "be right with you" from waitstaff for about 10 minutes so we moved to the bar. Luckily, we were immediately welcomed and told about happy hour options. It was more worth it to me to get regular pours of wine from the bar, especially as they have a good selection of house wines. But for the sake of the concept, we also went around to play with the wine dispensers after loading up a card with $20 (plus $5 fees and taxes). There were tags to describe the wine, signs to point you to the region or grape of your choosing, fresh wine glasses around the restaurant so you could get a new one with every pour if you really wanted, and there was at least one of every obscure grape varietal I've ever wanted to taste. There was however, only one staff member who really knew where anything was on the wine walls. He was so fun, and extremely knowledgeable, but anytime I asked for help from anyone else, they would stop me until they could find him. We also enjoyed talking with the cheesemonger about (duh) cheese, and getting to sample one that looked interesting. Lots of love goes into this restaurant, and I would definitely come back on a Wednesday to load up my card. Oh and be careful with parking. No lot (that I could find on a traffic-y afternoon), and there was attendant ticketing and scanning license plates when we arrived and when we left, 2 hours later. read more

I did not want to order anything from the menu and just told him I like tequila and nothing sweet. He suggested this drink and wow it was sooo good. My husband had the roasted mushroom pasta, which he very much enjoyed. I had the flat iron steak, which was awesome. Our server was great. Very friendly and accommodating. Next we sat and got a table....again server was great but we order apps and we got hair in the chicken lollipop, not one but multiple. Got the gnocchi and there wasn't anything in it but liquid. Ordered brussels sprouts never came, but they did charge.. Ask for a brand of wine and the staff was clueless. Said "it's suppose to be here" then gave up and walked away. Stopped in for a glass of Pinot Noir, and ended up with delicious salmon dish that matched it perfectly!. Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. My server Ryan is a level one sommelier. It was a pleasure to chat with him about certain varietals and how he prepares for the next level in the process to become a full on sommelier. The dining room is nicely sized, the bar is well stocked with confident mixologists. There's also a long bar table (where I sat) behind the mail bar seats. The salmon dish was very tasty. I loved how fresh it was. The crispy skin on top was a nice addition. I curiously purchased the cheesecake. It was very delightful. The wine inventory is extensive. What a novel idea! One that is needed in my area, for sure! Located right on bustling and happening Atlantic Ave... walking into this spot was exciting and I left very impressed! So, apparently you add money to a card and go to town with as many glasses are you can stand. I think on certain days of the week, your card money is worth double? Oh my... maybe just stay in Florida because that would be a problem for me! I love the idea of having access to the full range of wine---from dry to sweet... so many choices, it can be a bit overwhelming, but in the best way! Food was good, nothing to scream home about, but it was good. I was a little disappointed in my mushroom pasta with shrimp... just seemed to be lacking something... maybe seasoning? Came with wine connoisseur friends, who know a lot more about wine than I do. I know what I like and I have my favorites, so it is so great to be able to try wines I normally wouldn't. The way this place works is: You buy a card and add as much money as you like. There are slots for the card in the wine dispensary area, you select the wine you'd like to try, select the amount. 1, 2.5 ounces or a full glass. Prices defer per wine. You have your $2 per ounce, and then you have your $30 per ounce Opus One. Super cool concept. They are grouped by region/country. We also shared two charcuterie boards that an actual cheese monger puts together for you based on your taste. Amazing cheeses and meats. He was super knowledgeable! Our waitress was so nice, she checked on us quite often and at the end when we wanted to get a picture, she allowed us to come in their wine cellar to do so. Overall an excellent experience. I came to The Wine Room Kitchen & Bar looking for a quick bite and a glass of wine on a Monday after work. To my surprise the place was quite empty, which was surprising as I have passed by a few times (typically on weekends) and it is always packed! I was glad that I was so quiet since it gave me time to really peruse around and look at the amazing selection of wines that they have without feeling rushed that someone is standing by waiting on me to move. The have multiple walls of wines that you can try, with great labeling that tells you what area you're looking at, and also their card system that lets you select the amount of wine to taste is fabulous! A bit on expensive side, but definitely worth it even if just for the experience and to bring someone you would enjoy sharing this with. Pro-tip: they have a membership that you can sign up for (I just found out!) and they double your funds refill if you load it on Monday's and Wednesdays -or- you can also get a Groupon that will save you some money on your visit The only area of improvement really would be in the knowledge about the membership itself. It took asking about 3 people who worked there about it to finally get someone to explain the concept and sign me up, I don't think it should've been that difficult. It's your product!
