A little advice guys: If you have an area that is supposed to be blocked off for "private events," use your rope to block it off before a customer goes upstairs thinking it's part of the store. Don't embarrass them by then putting up the rope while they're still standing there when no one else in the store. Maybe wait until they're out of the store to do what you should've done from the beginning. Belittlement is bad for business, especially someone with a bit of influence in the area. Such a charming little wine and craft brew shop! So happy that I opted to stop in after a hearty walk on the beach. While small inside, the shop is mighty with well-curated wine options. I especially appreciated that each wine bottle was adorned with a well-written laminated tag describing the wine and the price. So clever! My friend and I selected two Cabs and a bag of organic crackers. Checkout was easy-peasy and friendly. My only regret is that I don't live in the area, but when I return to Delray Beach, I surely will return to Wine Wave! read more

For me, this is the place where you find the wine that are rock stars. The Wine Wave has a great array of wine, and a lot of labels that I enjoyed voraciously at a wine bar/retail store I used to frequent in Fort Lauderdale. Their selection may be select, but it is top notch. It's a cool, little boutique that not only offers a terrific array of wine but also carries a respectable selection of craft beer and spirits - especially their whisky/whiskeys because whiskey. I'll be definitely coming to their tastings in the future. The owners are very down-to-earth and accommodating. I've been a good customer of the Wine Wave but recently had an unfortunate experience with a bottle of defectively corked wine. I purchased 2 $100 bottles of Beaux Freres pinot noir at a tasting event in 2016 and opened one fairly soon after the event and it was fine. I put the other in my wine cellar until last week and after opening it and finding it corked, went to the Wine Cellar to exchange it. Although they agreed the cork was defective they refused to exchange it, saying I had it too long. Corked bottles aren't uncommon, so if you intend to buy a fine bottle of wine and cellar it for any length of time, don't buy it here because they won't stand behind their product. I'm just glad I didn't buy one of their very expensive bottles. read more

When we arrive in Delray Beach we walk to 99% of our destinations for the duration of our stay. So location is what brought us in for our first purchase. The variety of great wines, some that we know and love, others that expanded our experience and keep us coming back. Plus they have local beers, liquor and a few other odds and ends that help us avoid a trip to the grocery store. The staff is attentive and helpful, not just with the wines. My wife needed a new swimsuit and they offered a few suggestions for local stores. I can recommend this store to anyone that asks. The Wine Wave is slowly becoming my home away from home. I happened in there after a trip to Napa to see if they had some of the smaller producers and more high end wines that you do not find at the typical Total Wine. Since that initial visit I have become a regular for their affordable, thoughtful and very well put together weekly wine tastings on Thursday nights. This locally owned business is run by Lindsay and Jeremiah that are as nice as the day is long. They genuinely care about all of their patrons and make you feel very welcome, a very inviting environment. You will find your cult American Cabs, a fine mix of Zinfandel and Syrah as well as some hard to find Pinot Noir's along with selections from France, Spain, Chile, Italy and all of the up and coming wine regions. They also have a very fine craft beer selection, many bottles that you cannot find elsewhere. I get such enjoyment from killing a few hours on a Thursday night tasting wines I haven't had the chance to and occasionally keeping the owners there a bit too late as we pop another bottle (or four). Give The Wine Wave a shot if you are out in East Delray and try to make it a point to drop in on a Thursday night! read more

Really great little shop! I was definitely surprised by the quality offered here across all price levels: their 20 dollar bottles as well as their expensive bottles are the best examples of each. You can find a store with more bottles, but not with better! I bought a Condrieu I had never seen before, and it was fantastic. It's also great because the wines made with organic grapes are marked with a green label. The women there were very helpful with my numerous annoying questions. Terrible customer service. We stopped in a few days ago, looking for a Pinot Noir recommendation. The salesperson suggested a wine, and we bought two bottles. We tried the first, and didn't enjoy it at all -- it was much lighter-bodied than the salesperson had led us to believe. We stopped back in today hoping to exchange the second bottle, but the salesperson (same one) refused. There are plenty of wine shops in Palm Beach County, so we definitely won't be back to the Wine Wave. Stay away! read more

I was so insulted at The Wine Wave yesterday that I feel strongly compelled to write my first Yelp review and share my poor experience. We decided to pop into The Wine Wave last night after eating dinner at Che, the restaurant behind the store. We asked to sample one of the six bottles of wine that was open on the checkout counter for customers to come in and try. The gentleman working behind the counter replied "I'm going to be blunt with you. You don't look like the kinds of people who buy $50 bottles of wine. So no, I am not going to pour you a sample." Needless to say we didn't get to sample any wine and left so insulted by the way we were profiled. I'm not surprised to see another Yelp reviewer mention that she was also verbally insulted at this establishment. We will not be returning and will take our business elsewhere. read more

What a great little shop! They have a great, small but comprehensive selection from every wine region in the world plus a cold case full of local and craft beer, champagnes and sparkling wines, and chilled whites and rosés. And spirits too! I would like to see a little more Washington and Oregon wines but I'll forgive that since they had more than a dozen dry rosé! Personal service from the young owners is great too and a welcome departure from sales people at the chains who only sell the things they get paid to sell. Shops like this are a gem because you can be confident that you're buying wine from the people who spent their own money on it because they liked it first. The Wine Wave has a beautiful room upstairs where you can host small events. I hosted a small birthday party in the space and it was perfect. The whole staff including the owners catered to all my needs. They helped me select the wines in advance, I was able to bring in my own food and when I arrived the room was already set up with the wine open, breathing and beautiful glasses ready to go. Beware of The Wine Wave. I purchased a bottle of 1990 Chateau Latour for $500. Mind you it sells for $800 but nevertheless they never included any bottle description of imperfection. I opened the bottle and took a video of the opening process and to my disappointment the wine had seeped out of the cork and ruined the wine. I contacted the store and they offered me a 25% discount on future purchases!! I always use wine-searcher to buy my wine and I couldn't find a single bottle where I could buy from them utilizing the 25% discount as the lowest price online. Mind you I was looking for late vintages because I no longer trust buying aged wine from them. I reached out to them and asked for 50% although I am a wine collector and have bought thousands of bottles from reputable wine stores and had a full refund or replacement. They sent me a not so friendly email and refused to reply to my emails. In the mean time I am out of $520 and they are home free!! Beware of this seller read more
