Quick and decent food. There are some eat in tables and it looks cleaner/less unpleasant than you would expect from the outside. We have only had takeout and the food is ready quickly. The shrimp teriyaki is pretty good, but feels a bit heavy and greasy. You do get a lot of food with the deluxe bento boxes and it's definitely less expensive than if at a nicer sit down Japanese place. Nice to get a spring roll and a little bit of sushi with the deluxe box to have some more variety. read more

If you know Ramen you know this place is crap. The noodles taste like they are from a grocery store package and the broth is cloudy and gross. The sushi is even worse, can't get anything without krab in it and actual fish is not fresh and very small. AVOID! read more

Location is alight, parking is okay, service was friendly and the restaurant was clean and simple. Food was soso, I say they were below average soso. The sushi from the bento box were pretty awful, hideous, somewhat like the low grade sushi you can get from the cheap convenient store. Chicken teriyaki was blend, but the white rice was cooked perfectly. The spicy miso ramen was a joke, most instant noodles tasted better than it. And this restaurant is one of those environment unfriendly ones out there. Just like those meltdown plastic plates, bowls, cups, you can find on the wasted land field. Will I repeat? Absolutely not. read more

Don't order from Uber eats. They get cheap and give you the wrong thing. This was supposed to have tuna salmon and yellowtail on top and it is just fake crab and avocado. Would like some comp for restaurants using Uber eats as an excuse to be cheap. read more

We went for sushi and were not disappointed. I'm no sushi connoisseur but it was delicious and very reasonably priced. The basic rolls are only $5.25. read more

Just tried this place with my husband after reading reviews. The price is great for good food. The tonkatsu ramen was really good. I just didn't care for the noodles themselves. However the soup and pork belly were delicious!! The spring rolls, sushi, and gyoza were pretty good too! I highly recommend!! read more

4 1/2 stars for the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Deluxe Box. Add a side of steamed broccoli and this meal is filling at a great price. THE SALAD/DRESSING WAS AMAZING! read more

Went here twice so far. Very impressed with the customer service and food. Both Bento AND sushi are excellent. They should consider renaming to Sushi House and Bento. Lol. I'd definitely recommend this place. Affordable quick and great food. read more

I am new to the area and at first liked the place. My last two experiences, I've received terrible customer service from the lady that takes and delivers the orders. My last outing there I stood in front of the register for nearly 5 minutes and didn't receive no acknowledgement that she was going to take my order. I left to put things at my car that I bought at Home Depot and to come back in and she started to take peoples orders. When I finally got to the register to place my order, I noted to her that I was waiting around earlier to order and she said "I was busy" in a rude manner. She served our food with an attitude. In previous occasion she has given me weird looks when I asked if she provided me utensils (spoons for the kids). Terrible customer service on her end. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the lady's poor customer service. read more

This place is skippable. I didn't think the quality of the food matched the price paid. It was like mall food court asian food quality. Think McBento. read more

Went on a Friday evening. Restaurant has a lot of takeout business . Myself and hubby ate in. I wasn't expecting much but was very impressed' by the quality and quantity of food. Have not had a better meal for the price. Couldn't finish everything so took rest home for another time. read more

Healthy food with good portions. I really love this place. Service is great also. I usually order the chicken delux and the meal is filling and delicious. read more

This place just opened over the labor day weekend and I am glad it did! If you want a quick bite to eat without sacrificing fresh ingredients and fish, this is the place to go. The service is extremely friendly and accomodating. The owner really cares about your experience and takes pride in making tasty food with each plate. Not to mention it is high quality for a fair price. We ordered the shrimp and chicken bento box as well as the dragon roll. I made the bento box a deluxe which includes a four piece california roll and a spring roll on the side. It was a nice touch to the chicken, shrimp, vegetables and rice. I normally order steamed rice because I am afraid the fried rice would be too salty as a base for the rest of the food. However, this time I took a shot in the dark and ordered the fried rice instead. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the fried rice was perfectly seasoned and did not take away from the flavor of the rest of the food. I love sushi and have eaten at many authentic Japanese restaurants, and I must say the dragon roll was not a far cry from these other sushi staples. It had fresh fish and avocado and the rice was sticky and delicious. I am definitely coming back here to fill my sushi cravings and for a satisfying bento box. I wish I worked close by so I could come for lunch breaks. If you work in Reston, this would be a great place to go for speedy quality food. read more

The service at this place is A+! You can really tell they genuinely care for their restaurant and well being of their patrons. In regards to the food, yes it may not be something you would find at a 4-star restaurant...but it is meant to be a casual sit down place where you can get good food at good prices. I love the chicken deluxe box! Moral is: If you know the type of restaurant it is meant to be, you will like it! However, if you are looking for super high class japanese food, this is not that type of restaurant. You will have to go to a specialty restaurant and pay a lot more to get that style of food. Keep doing what you are doing Bento House! We are already becoming regulars. read more

Came here on the first day of opening. This is a great place if you are looking for something quick to eat but dont want to burn your wallet. The dollar sign should for this type of place should be just one and not two because everything here is under $10. More like $7-9 depending on what you order rather than the $11-30 that is stated. I usually order the chicken teriyaki but for the first time tried the steak and it is amazing! highly recommend both. The owner here is really nice. Had some small talk with him and he said he is in the process of trying to get licensed to sell beer which I think will be a nice touch. For the people complaining about not getting enough wasabi or condiments or had issues. I am sure that if you brought it to their attention they would more happy to accommodate. I have certain dietary restrictions and they always made my request without even charging me a dime. read more

Tucked into the Home Depot parking lot, you will find Bento Box - a fantastic little place! Excellent quality food at a good price. Hubster called it "magnificent" and spawn and I agree. Try the edamame and teriyaki. The owner is gracious and friendly too. This place is a new favorite! read more

Only tried the chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna roll, but they were both delicious! (And the teriyaki box with 2 sides is only $6.65)! The rest of the menu looked appetizing and very fairly priced. I will be back! read more

I really like this place! We've been there twice in the last three days and have been very pleased with all of the dishes and the excellent service. The chicken teriyaki deluxe box is clearly the house specialty but I was very pleased with the rich pork ramen as well. We've also enjoyed the salmon bento, edamame, octopus balls and the tempura. The portions are substantial, all of the food has been very good and the value is excellent. I expect we'll return often. read more

I was excited to try this because I was hungry and I was just searching GrubHub. Sushi is my favorite food and I happened to come across this. I ordered a Volcano Roll and a Hawaiian Roll. This food was not expensive at all, I love the price, and especially for the food. The quality and everything did not disappoint me. I am kind of picky with sushi and I have to say this is the best sushi I have ever had. I mean, this place sells full on bento boxes for $8.00! If you love sushi and and want to get some, this is conveniently located by my local Trader Joe's. I recommend this place. read more

3.5 stars. The service is good, especially for fast food. The sushi was fresh and came out very quickly. I got the tuna roll and the philedalphia roll ($4.50 each for 6 pieces). I'll be back to try their a la carte sushi in the future. We also got the teriyaki steak with fried rice ($8.95). It was pretty greasy--typical of what you'd expect from a mall food court. It was also heavy on the black pepper. Not bad, just different from normal teriyaki sauce. The tonkotsu ramen was apalling. I love good ramen, and I am not a picky eater whatsoever, but I had to force myself to try two bites. It smelled and tasted like dirty feet. ($9.95) *However,* when I asked someone whether I should throw it away (it didn't seem nice to pitch out a piping hot bowl of broth), she brought the manager over. He *insisted on refunding me* for the ramen despite my protestations. Very nice of him. (I did have to bite my tongue when he claimed that the food here is "authentic" and I might "not be used to it," but whatever). read more

Very dis-organized during lunch. Sushi was hot and egg roll was cold. Yuk! Got a refund

Perfect place for a quick lunch! I was able to get a deluxe meal with chicken, fried rice, veggies, sushi and a spring roll for under $10! As an Asian myself, I am extremely picky about the taste and authenticity of Asian cuisine. My husband and I found this small Bento House on Yelp today and we loved it! I really enjoyed Bento House. The guy behind the counter (possibly owner?) and the lady working the register were both super friendly. Both came to check on us while we were there, and it seemed like it was very genuine. The ramen was great for a quick, easy meal. We also got a California roll. The sushi did it's job. It was a lot better than grocery store sushi. They also gave us each an egg roll (not sure if this was included with the ramen or if they're just really nice people). It seemed like most of the people coming in were getting the bento box. I'll have to try it next time. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at Bento House. It wasn't the best ramen or sushi I've ever had, but it's perfect for what it is. A quick, easy meal when you're short on time. read more

Went in around 1:30pm on a Friday. No one was in line but people were sitting at tables eating or waiting for food. I ordered a rainbow roll, a dragon roll and tempura shrimp and veggies. Wait was about 30 min (not what I consider fast) - the rainbow roll had very little fish which was sliced paper thin (you could literally see the rice under it). The wasabi was stuck in between the pieces and since I'm not a fan of too much wasabi I ended up dipping the pieces in a bunch of soy sauce to get rid of it... - the shrimp and veggies tempura had 2 medium sized shrimp and 4 large pieces of veggies. The shrimp was alright. The veggies were barely warm. The batter was not mixed well - it smelled like dough and you could see actual flour (or white caked powder) in some of the air pockets. - the dragon roll had avocado on top of it and little crab (lost my appetite by that point though, so I didn't even try it). Not for me and not going back. read more

Yet again, the lady who takes your order over the phone was in such a rush to get you off the line that she messed up my order. This is the 2nd time in a year with the same exact lady. This place normally otherwise has good food so it's really a shame that we have to deal with such carelessness and ignorance from the staff for something that should never happen if they just pay attention to what they're doing. I don't recommend it to others for the simple fact that you may have your day ruined by bad service. read more

Love the fast service and over-the-counter setting. The food is really affordable and you get really solid portion sizes (I'm a 220 lb, 6'1 guy with an appetite and I was NOT hungry after I finished a single entree here). The atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant (clean, not run down at all) and inviting for a casual lunch. The chicken was flavorful and cooked just right. The only complaint I have is how oily the noodles/vegetables were (there was literally a pool of grease at the bottom of my box), so I can't give them the full five stars but I'd definitely go back if, for nothing else, the $5.99 lunch special. I'm sure my wallet will thank me later. read more

An upscale fast food restaurant. Think the difference between taco bell and Chipotle. I enjoyed myself and will be back. Ingredients were fresh. Everything, including sushi was made to order. I got the chicken teriyaki bento box. Wow. So much food, unbelievable price. Nice diverse selection. Chicken teriyaki was ok. Better than straight fast food and definitely better than premade, been sitting under a hot lamp mall or drive thru food. However there were some of those little connective tissue bits that are really hard to get out when one is cutting up their own meat. So nice they seem to be doing that themselves, but finding three to pick out means a bit more attention needs to be paid to that. The four pieces of sushi (missing from my photo because I was excited to eat them) were ok. Rice a bit loose, but tasty and ingredients good. Wish I had a bit more Wasabi and ginger but I'm pretty sure I use sushi as a serving platter to consume Wasabi and ginger. The vegetables were fantastic, perfectly cooked, seasoned and a great portion to make me feel I was being a bit healthy. You can get noodles instead of veggies. Rice choices are either white or fried. Fried rice also had veggies. Overall I really enjoyed myself. It was awesome to have done Asian food and not feel overly salted after the meal. The restaurant isn't sit down restaurant nice, but is that nice in between. Better quality than mere fast food, faster and better price than sitdown. Staff was fantastically nice. I think I found my new reston lunch place. read more

The concept here is "Japanese fast food." I had the shrimp teriyaki, takoyaki balls, shrimp and veggie tempura. My total bill was about $21, yes its really cheap and therein lies the problem. Everything tasted sub-par and I know for a fact that I wont be returning to Bento House. I was even so hungry when I came in and left super disappointed. I'm also disappointed at the 4 stars review this place has from Yelp Users. This is the first time that Yelp Users have let me down. read more

Surprisingly good sushi in a stripmall dive. Definitely a case of don't judge the book by its cover. Incredible black dragon and regular dragon rolls. Fresh and tasty sashimi. Bento House is a fast food type establishment. You cannot expect gourmet quality Japanese food at a place like this. With that being said, Bento House is pretty good. The deluxe bento box contains rice, your choice of meat/shrimp/tofu, salad, CA roll, and a spring roll for under $10. Their tofu is really good! The batter is very light and tasty. The spicy garlic ramen is not bad but I would say it is a little pricey compared to a sit down ramen place. All in all, this is my go to place if I want some Asian food that fills me up quickly and cheaply. read more

Bento House is consistently good. We've tried the combination of takeout and buffet places around here and Bento is certainly the best.
