Hot Girls Roll

The food was okay. I saw it had great reviews so I was excited to find a new good sushi spot in the area. Honestly, I'm disappointed. I got two roles, both tasted the exact same and fairly bland. I can think of tons of other spots in the area where the sushi really impressed me. The ambiance is really nice and the service was fairly quick. There was only 3 occupied tables with a fairly small group. I ordered: The Hot Girl 6/10 Kiss of Fire 6/10 I'll give them a try again but next time try other sushi and their hibachi. Maybe there were having an off day. Tip: They have lunch deals for great prices during the week. Lunch ends at 3pm I believe

This is my favorite go to sushi spot in the area. Service is always excellent. They're usually pretty busy so make a reservation ahead if you're planning to eat there for any special events. They do have enough seating but usually it's taken.

Incredible Huck Roll

As a frequent sushi eater- I can confidently say that this is my number one favorite sushi restaurant in the area. From the vast selection they have on the menu to the always quick and efficient seating/tabling- this is the best. I have been going to Kumo Sushi since before the pandemic, so for at least 4 years now and haven't had a bad experience. I highly recommend the incredible huck roll (middle round dish in photo), that is a crowd favorite! I also recommend trying their cocktail drinks (not pictured) as I've had a few over the years and they're delicious. While the price range isn't cheap, the quality and experience make up for the price in of itself. I tend to come on birthdays and anniversaries to make it feel even more special for the higher price! Overall: I continue to come back and always recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family!

Way too much dressing

Reston Foodies Facebook page recommended this restaurant so one evening my dining partner headed out to Herndon to check it out. It seems to be in a really nice area - part of an outdoor walking shopping area - and once we found it, discovered there is a lot of parking in a large lot right across their door. It's bright, clean, and spacious inside. Service is fast and friendly. Sadly we weren't that excited about the food. The salad was overdressed and our sushi was meh. We didn't order anything fancy - maybe that's why? Also the teriyaki tofu dish was entirely deep fried - yech. If I knew that I would have tried the hibachi tofu, I hope that's not deep fried as well. Maybe we didn't order the fan favs.

I come here often and always have a great experience! The sushi is fresh and there are tons of creative specialty rolls. We got one with thinly sliced apple in it which was delicious. I brought my 4 year old for the first time and I kid you not he said "why is the waitress so good??"

KUMO is BACK!!!! Today, we celebrated a birthday at Kumo in Herndon and we all had a great experience. The hospitality and service was excellent. The servers were super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Rock Shrimp and Calamari for appetizers(our favorite was definitely the Rock Shrimp!) For our shared entrées we got the Love Boat for 2 , Dragon Roll, Incredible Hulk Roll, and a Dancing Dragon Roll. For a table to 5 people, we could not even finish all the delicious sushi in one sitting. The sushi chefs did a great job with plating and making everything feel so fancy. Price is really reasonable and the quality of fish is superb! The reason I said "Kumo is Back" is because they have been closed during the pandemic and recently just opened up for dining for a few months now. Totally recommend this place for a warm and enjoyable family sushi night! The servers also gave us ice cream on the house! So sweet of them. We're so glad we finally got a chance to come back after a few years! Also my husband said his Filet Mignon Hibachi entree was by far better than other places! Go to Kumo for Sushi! Must try!!

I love love love Kumos sushi! I at least have a sushi night with my girls once a week and Kumo has never disappointed. I typically love getting their dragon roll or spicy California roll. Everything on the menu is delicious and I can't ever get enough of their sushi.

Sushi and Sashimi Combo even got my 8yr old to eat one of the tuna rolls!

This place was very good. Went there on a Monday night around 8pm and very few people in there. This let us get great service. The udon noodles tasted great, just a slightly bit oily, but still very good. The sushi & sashimi was well presented and tasted perfect. The waitress did a great job and super attentive.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

We entered through the distillery, which was hopping, and slid into the secret cubbyhole that led to heirloom. The noisy World Cup crowd immediately silenced as we walked to the bar. It was like being in a completely different atmosphere. You can see from the photos attached that the meal was /cr B/ /ump I/ Teges. We started out with these great appetizers. I make a Barada burst at home, we learned in Italy how to do it. Yours was one of the best I've ever had. Same with the lemon ricotta ravioli. It's like we were in Sicily again. Sitting at the bar, we decided sure why not have their best steak? And we did. And it was. This was a Prime Kansas City strip, 18 ounce bone in. on top, a buttery braised shallot. Cooked to perfection, tasty and buttery. Our sides were these nice parmesan crispy, layered potatoes and a delightful grilled leaf spinach. We were a little disappointed we had no room for dessert. But we will be back! The service was spectacular. Sitting at the bar, it was like we had two personal servers and a third on standby at all times. It was fun watching them make the drinks, there is a lot of attention to detail. If you have not tried heirloom, I cannot recommend it more highly. We look forward to returning!

I was impressed when it was a variety of boutique oysters - Sweet Jesus, Ford Signature and Tangler. They were all very good and clean, I do wish they had remembered to bring the mignonette. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful. For entrees my husband got the Ribeye Special topped with a lobster sauce served with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly and quality cut. My son got the filet and mushrooms with chorizo mac and cheese. Again, cooked well and quality cut. The mac and cheese was VERY good. I was a smidge complicated as I wanted the blackened scallop pasta but with shrimp and oysters instead. Zero problems. Penne pasta in a tequila lime sauce with peppers and onions. Delish! Our daughter got the steak and mashed potatoes off the kids menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their original spot in Manassas was forever on my list to visit, but it was just never on the way. SO happy this is open close to home! No doubt, the best crab cakes I've had in Virginia. Besides the crab cakes, we also liked the shrimp. The fish and the wings were just fine, but nothing exceptionally special in our opinion. Don't skip out on the hush puppies! Our first visit last summer we came at 5pm and thought we'd be fine getting a table for 3- it was the very last one. I guess depending on the day and time it can get packed!! The wait was longer than I expected, but understandable considering how busy they were- it seemed like everyone showed up at the same time. Vibes were good, their music playlist was great. The crab cake is not full of breading and filler like a lot of crab cakes, so I was happy with that. I got the "Goliath" crab cake platter, which came with hush puppies and a side, and I paid the extra $2.50 for the seafood salad. The hush puppies were cooked perfectly and were pretty tasty, a little sweet like I prefer them, and also pretty filling. I was a bit disappointed in the seafood salad since the dressing that is used overpowers the taste of the imitation crab, which is what I wanted to taste. I love the sweetness of the crab, but didn't taste it at all. Overall, I was happy with my food but I can't say I will eat here very often as my meal was $42 without including the tip, and for one person and a meal that barely filled a to go box it's a bit much. However, if I crave a crab cake sandwich, I will stop in again and try that.

The salmon, while the best part of the dish, still left more to be desired. It was a bit dry and I didn't think the sauce was all that flavorful.
