Service was good, pleasant and food came from the kitchen promptly. Note that they do not have a full liquor license. We started with the shepherds pie egg rolls, which were quite good. Generous portion and tasty, and an unusual twist on egg roll filling. I had the burger and ordered one with candied bacon which was delicious. I've had better and worse burgers. While the meat patty and toppings were good, the bun was unusual, firm almost hard and frankly not enjoyable. I ate the burger sans bun. Also the fries seemed like they were sitting for a while, a pet peeve of mine. They really need to be fried to order or I won't eat them. If you are going to splurge and eat fries, they have to be good, and sadly these were not. Again, overall we were happy. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a great dining spot.

I had a ribeye steak. They asked if I wanted the chuck cut (or another cut of some sort). I asked the difference and the answer is the chuck is generally more marbled and flavorful. Generally ribeye is the most flavorful and well marbled, but to be honest, chuck is generally not a great cut. Anyway, the waitress recommended it. What was received was an over-tenderized steak, that seemed that it had been either pounded or had holes poked in it to make it tender. It was juicy, but not typical of a good ribeye, which generally doesn't need anything done to it. I'd love to give a better review, but I can't. I will be back due to friends close by and the ambience, but I think it can be a much better steakhouse. After all, it is in their name... great steaks. I probably won't have steak there again.

Really fun and entertaining dinner experience night out at Post 1917 in Reading AKA Jason Carron…read more Great for date nights. Atmosphere/Decor: Really interesting and unique interior formerly a Post Office (hence the name) with exposed brick, a tall windows, and a very long three-sided bar that makes up most of the restaurant. Very happening and social scene. Most folks dressed business casual and to impress. Lots of birthdays, regulars, and lookers. Big glam meets classic steakhouse hybrid vibes. We sat at a booth behind the bar and were initially concerned about placement but glad for the happening scene afterwards. The legroom was fairly tight for the taller folks. The booth was a little tight with space for all our food and drinks (e.g., four people, four cocktails, four waters, three appetizers was tight). Service: Very attentive. We had great servers, very attentive, fun, offered helpful insights and thoughts, and took great care of us ala traditional steakhouse norms. No delays. No complaints. Food: We really enjoyed our meal. The appetizers were fun. The restaurant is gluten free in homage to one of the owners(?) kids who's found it hard to eat out. You probably wouldn't notice that it's gluten free, as whatever almond/corn/rice flour they're using closely mimics mouth feel and taste. We were a little surprised the lamb app was (gluten-free) breaded but very moist and flavorful. Our steaks were all very good. I had the ribeye and it was a nice cut, aged (23-30 days?), and cooked exactly as desired. Cauliflower was decent and voluminous but not amazing. Wedge decent. Filets good. The chicken parm sounded very intriguing -- different than the usual fare and apparently one of their most popular dishes and huge but we will save it for next time. Fun desert options. Drinks: Great dirty martini. Fun cocktails for the table -- some great some just good. All boozy. The Whistle Pig tasting desert option was a a great value even if just for the 12 year XII at that price. They have a few rare allocated bourbons and whiskeys. Price: A much better deal than Boston steakhouses in general. This would have been twice the price if downtown there, and they're clearly enticing folks to make the drive. I think it's well worth it.

Our experience was mixed: Positive o Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. o Manager visited our table to get feedback on our experience. o Food was reasonably priced and budget oriented. o Ambiance was good. Roomy booth for two of us. o Desserts were huge and top quality. I had the cheesecake and my wife had the chocolate lava cake. These were some of the best desserts we've ever had. o My wife liked her chicken sandwich and Margarita. o I had lemonade which was good and the refill was no-charge. o The French fries were good. Negative o I had the ribeye steak. Although it was cooked properly, it had a lot of gristle. My grocery store-purchased steaks are higher quality. o The steak knives are huge and not very sharp. I struggled to use mine to cut the steak. I "hacked" at it. o My mac and cheese side dish had too much garlic in it. o The bread was dry and tasteless. No butter knife provided. (We used our clumsy steak knives.) Tiny dollop of butter for whole mini-loaf. o Unfortunately, these issues degraded our overall experience. Summary Would I come back to this restaurant? Probably not. However, for a convenient, budget oriented meal it might be worth considering.

So on our way up to Bartlett, we stopped in. The lot was jammed, and we had to fight for a spot. A good sign. We managed to find our way into the Market & Butcher shop; which was packed. But we didn't wait long. Everything these days is expensive, but the meat here is reasonably priced. Super friendly, attentive, and kept things moving even though they were slammed. We ordered the spicy strawberry margaritas. They don't carry Ghost tequila, so they made them with fresh jalapeños and their house tequila instead, and they came out really good. Someone else in our group ordered an espresso martini and ended up getting a second one because he liked it so much. We took advantage of the buy one get one lobster roll special and also ordered the steak tips with a bunch of sides. The dill pickle potato salad was pretty good, the baked beans were really flavorful, and the mac and cheese was probably my favorite. The street corn was a close second. The mashed potatoes could've used a little more seasoning, and the Caesar salad was just your standard Caesar. The only thing that disappointed me was the steak tips. We ordered them medium, but they came out well done and didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting after hearing so many people rave about them. The lobster rolls were okay, but honestly they weren't anything to write home about. If you're really craving a lobster roll, I'd rather spend a little more and get one on the coast. I also wish the bun had been a little more buttered and toasted. Overall, I still had a great experience because the service was excellent. The bartender mentioned Mondays and Tuesdays are their busiest nights because of the buy one get one lobster roll special, so maybe that played a part. I'll definitely come back and give it another shot because way too many people have recommended this place for me to judge it off one visit. It just didn't quite live up to the hype this time.

We were greeted by a picturesque sunset seen through gorgeous wide windows overlooking a beautiful golf course with colorful fall foliage trees in the background! Truly a breathtaking view. They quietly went around our table refilling our water glasses, checking our drinks, checking to see if the food was cooked and prepared to our expectations, all while giving us plenty of time to chat. We were a large crowd of 9 and they handled it well. The menu is large and the food was exquisite!!! My husband got the filet mignon and it was excellent! I got the stuffed white fish and it was also very good! My sister enjoyed the sea bass and said it was the best she ever had!!!The appetizers were fantastic too! I have never had such delicious brussel sprouts prepared in the way that they did! I think it was the tasty sauce that made them even better. Desserts were very unique, fancy, light , and delicious! Man, do I feel like a friggin' dingus! Driving up to the location of this lovely establishment…read moreproved to be nothing shy of slightly misguided. I blame Google Maps for this (not the restaurant) because it had me turn directly into the EXIT lane! Yeah. By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late. Couldn't do a three point turn. Couldn't just reverse out of there and try again. So, I sheepishly drove my car at a snail's pace up the wrong way whilst veering as far to the right side as I could. Passed like 3 cars. Yep. I'll likely beat myself up over that one for years to come. Anyways, welcome to my Prime at Sky Meadow review! :D So, wifey and I share the same birth month. Every year, we choose a bougie restaurant to have what we call a combined birthday dinner together. Tired of always going to Ruth's Chris every other year, we decided to see what the locale had to offer. One thing led to another and...we ended up booking a res at Prime. Walking in, we're immediately greeted with an aura of elegance. The entrance consists of a grand standing lobby featuring a self playing piano, adding to the opulent atmosphere. We were able to get a table within mere seconds after they verified our reservation. The dining room LOOKS nice and has a great view, from what I understand (it was dark that evening, so we couldn't enjoy the view). Too bad I can't say the same for the acoustics. Out of the many fine dining restaurants I've visited in my life, Prime may possibly be one of the noisiest. I think it's because the tables are too close together. Which means you can almost hear entire conversations at the table next to yours. It's why I never travel in public without at least one pair of earbuds. Misophoniacs UNITE!! XD Now, I'd like to give a shout out to the waitress who took care of us that evening (I really wish I didn't suck with names so much). Service was stellar, overall. After receiving our drinks, we ordered the following.. Appetizers: Got the crab cake and clam chowder. Now, I just need to mention...our waitress had us at, "it's pure crab, no breadcrumbs". Both our eyes lit up as I said, "Yup. We'll take it!". Guys. I gotta tell ya....not a lot of restaurants can make a crab cake properly. Yet, Prime nails it! This thing was f#*!ing delicious! I dare say it may possibly be the greatest crab cake one can buy anywhere in the state of NH. And I will stand by that claim until or unless I discover better elsewhere. The clam chowder is in a league of its own. I often say how the very best chowders are the ones you don't have to add any additional seasoning to. This one totally slaps! Creamy, savory, made with REAL fresh clams. The cheesy bread they give on the side pairs brilliantly with the chowder as well. Solid 10 out of 10 for both apps! Mains: Wifey and I stuck with our favorites, getting a filet and ribeye, respectively. Describing the taste of these should be brief, since they seem to season all their steaks the same way. While the temperatures were absolutely spot-on, they could have used a bit more seasoning for our preference. However, we didn't see the need to send them back and just sprinkled some salt over the steak instead. Ch'yeah! Forgot to mention...this is one of the few fine dining restaurants that actually leaves the salt and pepper shakers on the table. Inconceivable! :o Got the lobster mac & cheese as the sharable side. And, uh....I think we were totally spoiled by RC's version of this. Because what Prime does here is....unique. The cheese (which I STILL cannot identify yet) was so mild, I truly believe the chefs were going for a subtle flavor. If done properly, it can actually give a delectable impression to the palate. Few extra dashes of salt, the whole thing was quite tasty! My one complaint here though: lobster meat was lacking. Normally, the ratio should be something like 70/30, macaroni's favor. This version was more like...85/15. Side's an 8 out of 10; steaks would both be a 9 out of 10. Dessert: Last, we have the peanut butter pie. I decided to take this one home, since I already felt like a pregnant whale by this point. Simply put, this pie was nothing short of sublime. Rock hard chocolate frosting aside, this was a 9 out of 10 for me. It's worth noting an 18% service fee is automatically charged to your total bill. So, take that into account when tipping. I'm not totally sure why they do this regardless of party size. Nevertheless, we made sure to close the gap, so to speak, on the gratuity by adding in an additional 7%. Service was just that good! Whilst I'd love to be able to give this place a perfect score, I honestly can't when considering the noisy ambiance of the dining area and lack of lobster portioning in their mac & cheese. That's not to say, however, that Prime is anything short of an amazing dining experience. I'm giving Prime at Sky Meadow 4 stunningly sweet chocolate peanut butter pies that melt in your mouth, not on your fork, out of 5.
