I'm so glad I did because they were fresh made and moist and the glaze was still wet! If nothing else they made was good, I would go back just for the glazed donuts! But everything is great so let's keep chatting! I originally decided to drive there to get the cinnamon bread that I remember as a kid. Unfortunately they were sold out. But they did have what they called Easter bread, which is s rich egg loaf, similar to Challah with red and golden raisins in it and the dough is lemon flavored. I bought a loaf of that and brought it home and made epic French toast with it! I highly suggest you do the same! I also tried their spinach pastry and "pizza" pastry, delicious! All the dough here just melts in your mouth without leaving a leathery film on your tongue which means it's real pastry made with butter! I knew we needed to make it one of the stops on the donut tour, and it was 100% the right decision. These donuts were out of this world delicious. The exact right texture and mouthfeel I personally want out of a donut. Sweet, but not too sweet that you can't enjoy every last morsel. I also loved the variety available... maybe 10 different donuts all together at the after-lunch part of the day, all classics and nothing dripping in over-frosted goo or crazy toppings. The attention to detail, hospitality, and kindness from Christian, the young man who works there, is exceptional. As I wrote before, the bakery shares the parking lot with the Yemeni coffee shop Shibam next door. The Yemeni coffee is just perfect with Sweet Elevation's treats, so don't miss this spot if you visit next door. I hope they can work out on doing something together. I've gotten hooked on Sweet Elevation's chocolate cupcakes. I'm having one as I write this review (these really are the freshest and best chocolate cupcakes) with some Yemeni coffee from next door - who knew how perfectly they go together. I'm very picky when it comes to cupcakes, and these are so soft, fresh, moist, fluffy, with perfect frosting with the sprinkles! Each time! It's really cute inside the cafe. The focaccia was thick and full of flavor. Personally not being a huge fan of olives, I think the chunks of olive were a bit too large for my taste, but that's personal preference. I won't take points off for that. The drinks came out after a few minutes. The latte that I got had some nice art on top, and the rosemary taste was very pleasant. The chai was also quite nice, I like the taste of masala as well. My wife got oat-milk with it which gave a nice nutty flavor to it. Staff was very pleasant, as well! They'd have to check to see if they could fit our order for a big pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. They squeezed us in! Since the wait would be between 20-30 minutes we kept ourselves busy by checking out the desserts in the self serve refrigerator. I picked out a slice of "hangover" (alcohol) cake and I devoured it before our meal arrived. It was so delicious and naughty fun to eat our dessert before the meal. The pizza was fantastic when it arrived. I prefer crisp crusts-- this one was not-- but it was awesome just the same. My friend and I were so hungry that we consumed half of the pie before I realized that we hadn't photographed our delicious pizza. The remaining half was boxed and taken home to be enjoyed for a couple more days. The staff was so ready. They came to our table with the box and we settled up our bill.
