When we got inside, the friendly gentleman (the owner, I believe), broke the news that he only had double Dutch left. He described it and hubby and I thought, well, that sounds delicious. We each got a slice to go. Service was excellent, prices were decent. The place is small but I can understand why they have raving reviews. Cheesecake Machismo knows their cheesecake. Husband carried the cheesecake slices on the walk back to our hotel and kept saying he could smell them. We were saddened to know they were not open the next day (Sunday) and were also closed on Memorial Day. We both wished we got an extra slice! Don't miss out on this special treat.

Many people seemed to be standing around the front counter waiting for take out orders. Despite the lines, both customers and staff seemed very nice. People stepped aside to make room for one another and did so with a smile. I never thought we'd find a seat in this crowded place but there was turnover. After putting in our orders, we sat down. A short time later, the kitchen staff emerged carrying our orders and calling my name. The coffee is good. A little on the strong side. I also ordered a $9 BC Eagle breakfast sandwich. It consisted of 2 eggs on a roll with a sausage patty, cheddar cheese, hash browns and hot sauce. Both the coffee and the sandwich were piping hot and hit the spot. The eatery is clean and cheerful. There are wood block table tops and outlets in the metal table columns where you can charge your devices. The front dining area is decorated with music posters. Some for Phish though most were Dave Matthews Band posters. Adding to the eclectic look of the place were the crazy overhead light fixtures made from kitchen tools including cheese graters and a flour sifter. The display cases are filled with tantalizing baked goods. There appears to be more seating in the rear but with the lines I knew I'd never make it that far. I'm not sure why Perfect Blend doesn't have better ratings on Yelp. The crowds would be an indication that it's a popular place. My friend and I really enjoyed our meal. Parking was easy, too. I parked on the street and there appears to be some parking behind the business. It's a bustling neighborhood eatery that serves up good food without breaking the bank. I'd be happy to come back for another meal.

I visited on a weekday afternoon and knew that there wouldn't be a ton of options as compared to going first thing in the morning. The cashier greeted me immediately and let me know that the chocolate chip cookies had just come out of the oven so getting one of those was a no brainer. In addition to the cookie, I got the pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing and the protein edible chocolate chip cookie dough. Everything was delicious but I would absolutely drive across town for that chocolate chip cookie. It was perfection! Perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The protein edible cookie dough is a delicious, low carb treat that I really enjoyed and the pumpkin cake was perfect for the changing seasons. I've heard fantastic things about their coffee drinks too so I need to return to try one of those. They also change their offerings monthly so there's always something new to return for. Scotia Sweets is such a welcome addition to the Capital Region bakery scene!

I didn't find them outrageously exciting, so I never went out of my way to buy some. Upon leaving Fresh Market in Latham today my wife had a craving to try the Crumbl store there. I don't think she had ever tasted a Crumbl cookie. Upon entering we found ourselves in close proximity to a counter displaying the variety of cookies available today. There were also four computer stations where you could place your order and pay. Having chosen credit/debit card as our means of payment we did not notice on the screen whether cash was an option. However, I do recall a notice taped to the table alongside the display cookies stating that no bills larger than $20 would be accepted. The back of the store was wide open to see and it looked clean with large storage units, commercial dough mixers, and multiple ovens and storage units for the finished cookies. There were two employees to answer any questions and fill the orders being placed. It appeared to be a very efficient operation. Once we placed our order we were out with our cookies in about five minutes. Our choices were: Pink Sugar Cookie Brownie Batter Cookie Cinnamon Roll Cookie Peanut Butter Cookie w/ Reese's Pieces We agreed that we liked the cinnamon roll and peanut butter cookies the best of the four. Those two were similar in that they had crisp edges and soft centers. In fact, the centers seemed to look barely cooked yet tasted finished. The flavor of each was exactly what you would expect, and the peanut butter cookie was the less sweet of the two. The brownie and sugar cookies were our least favorite. The sugar cookie was exceptionally sweet with its pink icing. This cookie also had a consistency of cake. It lacked that crisp edge of the two previous cookies and the center was, like the edge, a piece of cake again. The brownie batter cookie was hard around the edges, none of that crispness, just hard crunch. And the center was fully crisped. This might make sense since it had pieces of chocolate in it, and even an attempt of a few seconds in the microwave didn't seem to help much. Overall, many home baked cookies I've had are so much more to my liking. Crumbl cookies are overly sweet for my taste. If I don't want to go through the trouble of making cookies at home I'll stick to Fresh Market's raspberry or almond pillow cookies and Market 32's cranberry nut gourmet cookies.
