This is a cute new(ish) spot in downtown Troy with a delicious array of pastries, and a small selection of special drinks. My wife and I stopped in on a warm winter morning and got a few baked goods and two drinks to try. I had a rosemary vanilla latte and chocolate pistachio sourdough bun. She had a masala chai, and olive/feta/rosemary focaccia. We started with the bun & focaccia. The bun pulled apart nicely and had the subtlest hint of sourdough. The chocolate wasn't overpowering and matched the pistachio flavor nicely. It was a bit messy but delicious nonetheless. The bun was deliciously moist in the middle which was my favorite part. The focaccia was thick and full of flavor. Personally not being a huge fan of olives, I think the chunks of olive were a bit too large for my taste, but that's personal preference. I won't take points off for that. The drinks came out after a few minutes. The latte that I got had some nice art on top, and the rosemary taste was very pleasant. The chai was also quite nice, I like the taste of masala as well. My wife got oat-milk with it which gave a nice nutty flavor to it. Staff was very pleasant, as well! Came to this awesome bakery in downtown Troy after having some delicious coffee at a shop nearby. I knew I had a little sweet tooth and wanted a little something. The final verdict was the lemon poppy seed gluten free olive oil cake which was incredible! I couldn't believe it was gluten free. I also got the pop tart and it was not only SO stinkin pretty but absolutely delicious. I love the space, it's so quiet and relaxing and the fact that it has all the pretty plants and chill space to get some work done. I ended up sitting outside since it was nice and sunny and wanted to enjoy the last bit of sunshine and outdoor space before the cold keeps us cooped up inside. Really enjoyed my visit to this bakery. I went on a Saturday during the farmers market so it was a little crazy. That's being said, my family and I loved everything we got. Cold brew, salted caramel apple pop tart, sourdough peach buns, salted chocolate chunk cookie and chocolate chip cookie. We stop by every time we visit the Troy Farmer's Market. The Flour Bender in Troy is such a gem! The iced mocha coffee is absolutely delicious, made with real chocolate -- such a treat. Every baked good we've tried has been outstanding: fresh, moist, flavorful, and never overly sweet. Service is always prompt and friendly. I also love that they use compostable cups, straws, and paper bags -- a thoughtful touch. Incredible bakery in Downtown Troy! I'm so excited to welcome The Flour Bender to the Collar City. They have a great selection of sweet and savory baked goods as well as a selection of coffee, tea and other drinks. It's a beautifully comfortable space that makes it easy to sit and relax. The staff is always so friendly, welcoming and answers any questions you may have. My favorite thing they make is the Italian rainbow cookie, which is naturally dyed. I'm also a huge fan of their pop tarts and other cookies too. I want to try their Focaccia bread next time. Their custom cakes look beautiful too. What a divine place. The rainbow cookie intrigued me since it was advertised as 'naturally dyed' and oh boy was it delicious. I cut it in half to share and it was enough just half of it! The cakes look so pretty they are hard to resist, and I also got a tasty muffin as well. They cater to those with delicate tummies as well which is a refreshing change. I took a sneak peek at The Flour Bender shop while in Troy last week. My visit was the day before their Grand Opening, and I arrived in the afternoon, meaning the bakery case was already looking less-than-full, but nothing that i wouldn't have expected. Two types of cookies, 3 pop tart flavors, and slices of one type of cake were available. [The cookies were $3 and pop tarts ranged from $7-$9 a piece.] The customer services was warm and friendly, and I felt completely welcome to "sit and stay awhile" after ordering one cookie to go, one to enjoy onsite, and a bottle of local apple juice, Empire Cider. The cookie was rich and salty, and the perfect size for an afternoon snack. Perfectly textured for my liking - soft and chewy with a nice crackle crunch on top. Love the look of this place - crisp and classic, with clean and simple designs. There are a handful of tables and lots of counter space, which I am sure will come in handy to file long lines during the farmers market and other Troy events in the future. I will definitely be going back to check out the pop tarts and indulge in the tea selection. They had samples available of two flavors near the register, but I did not see them until I was on my way out. read more

The staff are extremely friendly and the environment is homey right when you walk in. it's one of the few coffee shops where I want to go to meet with my friends. I always get a matcha with their vanilla syrup and it's perfect each time! It's good quality, which is hard to find for their price ($6.50 in comparison to $8-9 elsewhere). They have pastries and also savory options later in the day which are so worth it! I'm so grateful they've opened up and I hope to see them flourish in the future read more

This bakery is delicious! We stopped in for a coffee and got some sweet treats to go with it.. The lemon ricotta cookies were light and fluffy, The cherry chocolate chip oatmeal cookie was ooey- gooey, but the blueberry pop tart was the absolute winner! The crust was light and flaky like a croissant and the homemade filling was , thick and full of sweet delicious blueberries. The cappuccino was perfect too! We definitely will be returning to enjoy more of their deliciously sweet snacks. read more
