Bowl Combo. Build your own K-Bowl, soup, and a regular drink
    Franklin H.

Very good build your own bowlnplace that is Korean. They also have a ramen noodle station where you make your own from packages of various Korean ramen. I did a build your own k-bowl. Chose beef bulgogi for protein, all toppings except cucumber, and the dpecispecial sauce which is a chili paste. All tasted great. The noodle turned out to be Mung bean thread noodle which was a pleasant surprise for me. Chose miso for soup which was fine. Cooked to order. I like the place...but sigunification other was put off by the make yourself ramen station. She didn't want to do it. They offered to make it for her but she closed to get the fried Dumplings instead. She said they were good. This probably will make into the rotation. Staff were friendly. Place looks clean.

Delicious food was delivered by doordash, so Im not able to mention anything on the atmosphere or service...but highly recommend. I'll definitely be going there in person soon.

Unexpectedly came towards the end of their weekday lunch deal so got the soondubu tofu soup and the…read moreseoul long tang which I usually get anyways and was an affordable price ~$15 each? (not too sure) The tofu soup I got was mild-lightly spicy and gosh it was the spiciest soup I've ever gotten and I usually eat this and other spicy foods perfectly fine! Wasn't the best for me. Alternatively the beef soup felt a bit bland but my friend liked it. Main complaint is not much beef in the soup and it tasted very tough. alternatively not much seafood either, just tiny small bits of cheap shrimps which were a bummer. Only good thing was the decent price and decent free side dishes (not many) of which only broccoli tasted good. Food took forever to come so side dishes were a life saver although they also were never refilled which at traditional places they are. Main thing: the service was quite bad... from the moment we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as no one welcomed us, dirty tables were everywhere (like in those video games you play to clean up), and we waited awhile at the counter looking at menus until someone greeted us with an attitude yelling that counter is only for to-go and we should've just sat down if we're dining in... she huffed and sat us down, surrounded by the dirty tables. We asked if we could sit elsewhere but as big as the restaurant was, she still said half of it was closed for dinner (I know other places do the same but they were kind enough to let us sit in that area when requested) and the reason why this time, was because we were literally sitting surrounded by dirty dishes all around us - which they never cleaned up the entire hour we dined here! Very unpleasant view-never have I ever! Even our current table was sticky. And the food and service took forever. She seemed very annoyed when we ordered and whenever we asked for water or refill side dishes and gave attitude like we obviously need to wait for her to appear and be free to even ask which she was rarely seen. I never saw her treat other customers like the same way she treated us, for them, she was very patient and kind and offered menu options and even personal talk. Seems like she doesn't like tourists, just regulars. Anyways she was rarely seen throughout the meal and so I just sucked up the not so good food and we finished and took awhile to get the check. That was the only point in the interaction she seemed to be present in the restaurant. Other times she was nowhere to be seen. When paying, she loudly exclaimed what do you want to tip? In an attitude saying that, we had to tip, and it had to be a sufficient amount otherwise she'd be upset - which she was because service was not good. Even when we left and said bye, she gave us no word back and just another one of those scowled looks. Only one lady working the front and she was barely present and not pleasant. Overall food really isn't bad but it isn't amazing either. If this cuisine is what you're craving go for it, it's fairly priced. I would support a small business. But don't expect a clean restaurant or friendly service - unless youre a regular or fits the server preferred demographic. Not the best experience for me. Whole heartedly believe if service was better this could be a solid place!

I may be part of the Asian club but I'm not a part of this particular inner circle. Being Filipino…read more(or being human, for that matter), I tend to compare and contrast cuisines based on my own experience. With several Asian cuisines, rice seems to be the preferred carb. Korean black rice differs primarily in appearance - purple hue due to the mix of black and white rice. Gimbap (Kimbap) - is often described as Korean sushi. In doing some research, there's a distinct difference between the two. The seasonings used to flavor the steamed rice are salt and sesame oil. They are usually stuffed with cooked protein (beef, pork, tofu, fishcake) and pickled vegetables. They seem to be a larger diameter than maki sushi as well. Good? You betcha. Tonkatsu lunch is a favorite....think German pork schnitzel over black rice. The sauce seems to be Tteokbokki (glutinous rice cake) derived - sweet and slightly spiced. There are usually banchan (side dishes) accompanying the meal: kimchi, cucumber pickle, daikon, and eomuk (fish cake). They provide added contrast to the meal. The service has always been efficient and cordial every time I've picked up my order here.

There's a small section right up front of seasonal fruit/vegetables & some items on sale. This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Was it a mistake to order their spiciest wings on my first visit? Would the price I paid for the combo meal justify the quantity and my satisfaction with it? Do the patrons REALLY watch those music videos? Well, it's definitely all about the chicken here. That first bite of a boneless wing with the Spicy Galbi was indeed a taste-bud-awakener, but after that it was all flavor and the right level of crispness. I definitely wanted more. The fries were interesting. They were nicely crisp, and they were lightly covered with some kind of coating that was both subtly spicy and subtly sweet. They were certainly fine, but I'll explore other sides on future visits like the cole slaw and the pickled radishes. The price for a combo, $13.99 plus tax and tip extra... well ... since I'm really here for the chicken, maybe next time I'll just order a big batch of wings and do something else instead of (the starchy) sides. Those music videos... today they were all from a K-pop girl group known as aespa, evidently quite successful internationally. Clearly I am not their target audience. But as background music, it was pleasant enough. Since it's roughly 15 minutes from my house to here, ordering in advance seems like the way to go. It is indeed worth it for the chicken.

The fried chicken with their "secret sauce" is one of the better versions of what I consider to be authentic, so my rating is based mostly on this. Things that would've made for a 5- star experience relate to the ultimate Korean fried chicken and pizza joint in the Atlanta region, where they play a Korean TV show on mute (or music videos, although I almost never watch them with intention) and have utensils and crockery that at least remotely make you feel like you're dining out if you decide to eat in like we did.. For example, bb.q only had plastic forks and not even a paper plate. And regrettably like many Korean fried chicken joints in the U.S., they charge separately for sides such as pickled radish. Speaking of which, they charge $0.95 for a little cup of radish and most of the mass was liquid, forcing me to ration even though we ordered two of them. Moreover, one of the radish cups clearly had been sitting out and they still served it, as I overheard the front staff say to the kitchen staff, "I need two radish.. actually, only one, there's one sitting out here already, I'm not gonna waste that." Anyone who knows and appreciates the crunch of the radish that complements Korean fried chicken will understand how this affects the radish and the diminished enjoyment. On a positive note, the chicken was tender and the sauce, although not one of the best I've had of its kind, was more like the authentic sticky and sweet 'yang nyoem' that I've come to love. There was an unidentifiable note to the flavour of the sauce that I didn't like but it didn't detract completely from enjoyment. If there was a half star rating I would consider 3.5 stars. Then again, I'm glad there's a decent Korean fried chicken joint in our neck of the woods away from big cities, and I wouldn't mind going back. I hope they continue to improve.

In the background on the TV was the Food Network. Our waitress was very polite and gave us time to order. I started with the Szechuan dumplings which turned out to be steamed dumplings in a spicy peanut saucy. They were very soft, almost to the point of mushy, and the meatball inside was chewy. I had never heard of them before and really enjoyed them, though I didn't find them spicy. My wife disagreed on that point, and didn't care for them. For my son, we ordered "chicken fingers". They were larger pieces of battered deep fried chicken (think sweet and sour chicken) and cooked so long as to be hard and greasy. He didn't want to eat them, and after one bit I completely agreed. They were terrible. Very little meat, very hard coating, very oily. Yuck. We threw nearly all of it away. My wife ordered sushi, and during the ordering process there was some confusion as to what fish came with it and whether there was an upcharge or not. She ended up with a standard sushi order and didn't enjoy it all that much. It might have been sitting around a bit too long. I ordered the General Tso chicken and was very disappointed. There was lots of chicken and it wasn't fried as hard as the chicken fingers, but I didn't like the sauce. It was loaded with minced ginger, shallots, and garlic which gave it a much different taste than anywhere else I have had this dish. As I looked at it more, it hit me... I have bought this bottled sauce before from the supermarket. I think it is "Iron Kitchen" brand, and I used to have some in my fridge (when I bought it, I discovered it didn't taste good either so it sat in my fridge for ages). Yangs didn't make their sauce from scratch, and it was gloopy and thick. he picture of this dish on the online menu doesn't match what you get. Do they always use this sauce? I dunno, but it was one of the worst versions I have ever eaten. After dropping off our food, the waitress disappeared and was clearly busy with other tables. She never checked on us to see how we were doing, and it took a while for someone else to refill our drinks. They did a tremendous amount of takeout while we were there. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal. We won't be back.
