He informed me that Chef Scott Nishiyama, has a distinguished fine-dining pedigree, having worked at renowned restaurants including Daniel in New York and The French Laundry in Yountville. Also he previously earned a Michelin star as the executive chef of Chez TJ in Mountain View. I told Mickey I'd love to meet him since I was friends with Daniel. "Of course" he said, and a minute later I'm shaking hands with Scott. I was impressed with his humble, sweet demeanor. And then the food, Stephen, our friendly informative waiter gave us suggestions from the menu - I had no idea snap peas could taste that great. Shrimp was better than Spain. I ordered an NA cocktail and couldn't enjoy it, though the flavor was good, because the glass smelled like dirty moldy wet sponge and was overwhelming the flavors. Overall, for the price of everything ($210 for two people), we were severely disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place. We would've spoken to the waitress but considering how little she checked in with us and how long our food took, we didn't bother. It truly seems like they care about the aesthetic and advertising it as an English Gastropub more than the actual food itself. I'd consider elsewhere if this was on your list. There's better food for less cost nearby.
