It was my first time ever going to sweetgreen! I always thought it was just a glorified salad place but I was totally wrong.. I ordered the Caramelized garlic steak bowl and it was pretty yummy! Looking to refuel after a run on a Saturday morning, I wanted some healthy protein and sustenance. The carmelized garlic steak was so TASTY! When picking what I wanted, I was sold because the bowl also had sweet potatoes with the steak. The combo is unmatched and the pesto vinaigrette was the cherry on top. Also, the menu says it contains "spicy broccoli", but its not spicy at all (heat-wise). If anything, the flavors of the bowl masked the broccoli. (Make sure to ask for the free slice of bread, it was so good!!) It is like a chipotle version of a salad/protein bowl assembly line. So, as long as they had all the ingredients for your bowl, the wait was pretty quick. They had quite a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating on Castro St. Water was available on the side, so you don't have to actually buy their fancy, canned water. And on a side note, their bathrooms were super clean, which is always a big plus! It was a solid first experience! read more

I loved this place for a long time. I've been a regular for years and have eaten a ton of salads here. But things have slipped. It started with the app. I'd order, get a notification that my order was complete (not an estimated time, but a specific your order is completed notification, and find nothing on the shelf. Then I'd wait several more minutes, well past the time the app said it was done, while none of the employees would make eye contact. It happened enough times that I gave up on ordering online and picking up in person and switched to delivery, even though it costs more, just to avoid standing around wondering if my salad was ever coming. Then today my vegetarian salad had a piece of steak in it. I didn't realize until I was mid-chew (it must have gotten mixed in with the mushrooms). I've been a vegetarian for years, so this was genuinely upsetting. To their credit, customer service through the app was helpful and gave me a refund plus a credit. But I think I'm done. Mountain View Sweetgreen just isn't what it used to be. The staff don't seem happy to be there, and the care that used to go into getting orders right and treating customers well doesn't seem to be there anymore either. Glad I finally came around to try out Sweet greens. I liked the options they had for the salad with the roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli which had nice charred flavor. The kale was chopped up into small pieces which was easy to chew. I enjoyed their sauces too which included some pretty unique flavors. When I was driving here, I wondered how a sweetgreen could have such a low rating. Now I know. Least organized location of all I have been to across the country. Poorly run and with unhelpful staff. Ordered for DoorDash pickup and arrived a bit early and did not see order ready. Waited and checked as multiple orders put out. One helpful staff member checked in and confirmed that the order was already made, so must have been stolen. "Third time in the last hour." She offers to remake but I guess that wasn't allowed. No one informed me as I waited another 20 minutes. Then another staff member said I must have misunderstood, and I must cancel the order on DoorDash. However, doing so would mean a $0 refund since the business already started making the order. They just never confirmed when it was done. I speak with the manager Karen who says it's not their fault since DoorDash is a third party and they can't afford to lose the money to remake the meals. I suggest it might be helpful to confirm when orders are being completed and picked up, but she says not for a third party app and this is how they run things here. Just genuinely surprised since this has never happened at other locations across the country. Coupled with all the other complaints I've read, will certainly not come to this location again. read more

I love their shroomami salad that comes with warm portobello ( the highlight of the dish in my opinion) , tofu, toasted almond and delicious sesame dressing. You can also customize salad if desired with many dressing options. Their service is good. Even if there's a line, it moves fast. read more

A healthy lunch, I think. I had a grain bowl with grilled chicken for about $15. I did ask to replace lettuce with the lettuce with arugula and, I asked to mix the grain bowl with the dressing- pesto & balsamic. They must have added too much dressing or added salt. It was too salty for my taste- Next time, be sure to be easy on salt or don't mix-in the dressing but put them in side. Received a gift card for Christmas and finally found an opportunity to use it! Came around 1pm and was actually surprised to not see a lunch crowd inside. The lady who helped me out was super nice and overall I received great and quick service. Definitely looking forward to my next visit! The order: - Miso bowl with salmon: I had the miso bowl and honestly it was so worth it. I did switch out the chicken for salmon and added avocado so not sure if that made a difference.The dressing was so tasty and I loved the roasted miso veggies. I've been a ride or die for the kale caesar salad for years but the miso bowl is for sure my new favorite. Geez sweetgreen, the service has gotten worst from last time. I did mobile order (btw- if you purchase 2 transactions before 11/20, you get $7 off your next salad). Then when I picked up my salad, I realized I forgot to add 2 salad dressing containers. I went to the cashier and told them I accidentally forgot to order 2 salad dressings and was it possible to get one more. The cashier had a "mean mug" on her and said, "Well it shows you only ordered one salad dressing, but ok (sigh), I'll get you one more." Like geez, it isn't what you say, it is also about how you say things to people. I can tell it might not be a "me" thing. The workers look disgruntle and not happy. Don't take your frustrations out on me. Ok now about the food. I ordered the crispy rice salad. It was good but definitely needed the 2nd salad dressing. Also be forewarned, the salad tends to give you gas so I would recommend if you are eating with others or on a date. The store was clean, had a couple of people there but overall pretty empty. I went to this location on 2/15 for a late Valentine's dinner. FOOD: There are plenty of options so that anyone, from a vegan to a carnivore, can find something delicious. Although there aren't too many meatless options, you can customize salads to your liking. I opted for the Green Goddess salad without chicken, seeing it was deemed a "favorite." While it was delicious (especially since it comes with half an avocado) I think the shroomami salad was even better. I would also like to try customizing a salad through the "build your own" option later, as the tofu from the shroomami salad was absolutely scrumptious. Everything tasted very fresh. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Additionally, the staff exhibited stellar customer service: they were happy, helpful and quick. I was pleasantly surprised that they asked us how much salad dressing we wanted. Thank you, SG! Too often, nutrient-dense vegetables are accompanied by a pool of dressing that reduces the nutritional value of the salad. ECO FRIENDLINESS: I love how it is NOT the default to give out plastic cutlery or paper napkins for take-out. As noted in one of my photos, they also support local farms. These actions might seem small, but they help promote sustainability in our food system. I really wish there more choice for toppings like celery or jalapeños. The woman that helped me said I might like the cilantro jalapeño dressing, so I tried it and boy it got me right in the kissa! It definitely added more of a flavor profile over the simple olive oil I usually choose. Plenty of red pepper flakes and ground black pepper. I'd return, and thanks for preparing my salad! Work work work... Love that we have a bunch of options during Friday work lunches. It also depends whose turn it is for pick of the day. So far I've tried sweet greens twice. I went with shroomami the first time and let me tell you, it is jam packed to the rim. You've got wild rice, kale bedded underneath, sautéed warm mushrooms, sesame tofu, fresh raw cut beets, basil, cucumber and sunflower seeds. What more can you ask for in a vegetarian salad. The most important item to top it off was their miso sesame ginger dressing. They packed three containers and it may had looked like it wasn't enough but it was plenty o' good. The every fresh crunch and robust flavors of wild rice, mushrooms and tofu was getting me so excited as I put it in my mouth. Like I couldn't stop eating while I was halfway stuffed. Even my own sales I make aren't this good. Lol. The second time, I decided to try something different so I ordered the super green goddess. It was kale, raw beets, sweet potato, lentils, chickpeas, cabbage, spicy broccoli, almonds and baby spinach. Green goddess ranch for the dressing. The dressing didn't do justice for me. The salad was pretty dry. Thought going all green and raw would lift my face. It wasn't the one. I took a few bites and ended it there. The combination sounds good but it wasn't to my liking. I would have to say this is one of the best salads I have had! I ordered on their website for pick up. Keep me mind you will need to create an account with them in order to complete your order. I ordered the chicken pesto with tomatoes, shaved parmesan, quinoa. I substituted my leafy green for arugala. My order was ready on time. There is a pick up area right when you enter the restaurant. My only thing is my order was not bagged. In Covid times, I would appreciate a bag. I know my one coworker bought one salad as well and she got a bag. So one star off for that. There are people I am sure who pick up and do not santize their hands, touching other people's orders. I do not appreciate that. I am not sure why they can't keep the food behind the counter and have an employee hand the orders over. Back to the food. My salad was really good. I couldn't finish it all. I had a great experience as my first time at sweetgreen. I heard about this salad place for quite a while and was excited to give it a try. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu when I asked a few questions and for some recommendations. I decided to go with their Chicken Pesto Parm, which is a part of their warm bowl selections. The staff member helping me was really nice and asked if I wanted to keep the hot and cold items separate so the salad wouldn't wilt. He also asked me if I wanted my dressings separate, which I also appreciate to prevent sogginess. Before paying, I also got a side of their focaccia bread. I was very impressed with the freshness and blend of the salad. It was very crunchy and flavorful, and all the ingredients meshed well together. I loved every second of the experience and will definitely order this again in the future. The focaccia tasted a little stale, so I'll probably toast it up in the oven next time and add some butter.
