We dined here for a late birthday celebration for my father in law. It was a Tuesday and it was busy. Our server was very professional, he answered all of our questions and always refilled our waters without us having to ask him. They served bread and butter before we got our meal. The bread was light and hollow inside. I had two pieces and I didn't feel guilty at all. I got the special, the skirt steak and parmesan fries. I ordered my steak medium, it could have been cooked a little more but I ate it anyway. The fries were nice and crispy. My husband got the halibut, I had a bite and it was cooked perfectly. My mother in law got the chicken schnitzel, it had a light lemony sauce. My father in law got the filet, it was only 6 oz and he didn't get any sides so he didn't share . We also got a side of the cauliflower with the raisins, lemons, and capers. The side was enough for the whole table to share,we didn't even finish it. At the end of the meal our server asked us if we wanted dessert and we all declined. He then reminded us that my father in law got one for free since we were celebrating his birthday. We ended up getting the chocolate maple cake with ice cream. The cake was moist, everybody liked it . I only had a bite because the maple flavor was too strong for me. I took my parents to Benchmark last night for dinner. While I'm usually not a "run out and write a yelp review" kind of guy, a fantastic performance deserves accolades. Pretty much everything was perfect. Staff were visibly following covid guidelines & spacing was appropriate. Our server was the definition of impeccable - friendly, highly attentive without being overbearing, extremely knowledgeable. We had a number of dishes and everything was delightful - the french onion soup and filet prepared "the chef's way" were particular highlights. I've been to Benchmark now a couple times, and while I'd categorize past visits as very good, this one was pretty much perfect. It honestly blew the other steakhouses I've been to in Toledo out of the water, and I'll definitely be back soon. A+ read more

I'm kind of amazed to see many good reviews as my experience was not that's good. The rolls were a little too crispy, making the sunflower seeds taste burnt. The house salad wasn't very good, it was just bland really. My burger was good! But the fries tasted like old donuts. It's a cool experience going to a snazzy restaurant but the food was not worth the price listed in my opinion, and I deeply regret my decision to spend $120 there for a valentines dinner. Benchmark has been one of my boyfriend's and my favorite restaurants for awhile now - the cocktails, wine, food, and service are always top notch - so he knew this would be the perfect place to plan a proposal. Our server, Patrick, went above and beyond to give us such a magical experience and the manager, Rikki, was so kind to film the proposal without even being asked and made sure we received the video. After an amazing meal and dessert we casually mentioned we needed to get home to our kids and Patrick offered complimentary chocolate chip cookies to bring home to them. We've always loved this restaurant and recommend it to everyone we know but after our incredible evening of getting engaged, it's definitely solidified as one of the absolute best restaurants we've ever been to. The thing that sets this apart from other high-end restaurants with delicious steaks is the wait staff. Unlike, say, The Precinct in Cincinnati, they are WARM and FRIENDLY. They have a special menu of easily transported foods for curbside, but you're free to order anything you like. The bartender went over my order when I picked up to make sure it was accurate. Overall this is a great restaurant. The happy hour is amazing. $4 old fashions and manhattans along with a list of other drinks under $5 bucks... they have a small selection of food for happy hour. The steak frites is ok, the steak could have used more seasoning and more tender. The béarnaise sauce was amazing. The osso buco was also amazing with the saffron risotto. I also enjoyed the chicken stuffed with goat cheese and pancetta with brussel sprouts and saffron risotto. The steaks are pricy but you can make choices that keep costs down. My fiance and I went to Benchmark for the first time last night, and it did not disappoint! Our server was a sweet lady named Esther and she did a great job at explaining the restaurant and giving drink recommendations. I had the red sangria and my fiance had the angel's envy (can't remember what it was, either whiskey or bourbon) and he really enjoyed it. the sangria was much too sweet, and i ended up just giving it to my fiance to finish off. We started with the complimentary cheese-herb popovers- delicious! i just wish they had been a little warmer. we also had the crab cake for the appetizer, and were both impressed by how much crab was actually in it. I got the short rib for my entree and it was SO good. the sauces and seasonings were just right, and those mashed potatoes were buttery and incredible. my fiance had the 16 oz ribeye and ate the whole thing... the bernaise sauce was his favorite! we finished with the lemon tart and I definitely recommend it. there was a great balance of tart and sweet and it wasn't too heavy after our huge dinner! it got busier closer to 7, so make reservations or come in early. we will be back soon! read more

Stopped by here on our way passing through Ohio - what a pleasant surprise! The decor was nice, the service was attentive, and everything we had - with the exception of the house "bread" - was delicious. We had the goat cheese and prosciutto appetizer, a steak and blue cheese salad, a filet mignon, brussel sprouts, and fries. This place has wonderful food and an even more wonderful staff. Expect the best of both here. Even when my daughter dropped a glass on the floor that shattered everywhere, every worker who came to clean it up comforted her and were so respectful and nice. It is her favorite place and she says she will never forget that they didn't treat her "like a dumb clumsy kid". She said she was about to cry of embarrassment but the workers really made her feel that it was okay. So thankful for this experience and the incredible staff. I just found my new local date night spot! It's atmosphere is perfect to go after work for drinks with co-workers or with your significant other before a movie. The food list is unique and everything I believe is made in house! I went there with my co-workers and was pleased with the service we got and the different dishes we ate. I am excited to go back and try it again. To Be Noted: -Be sure to make a reservation as it was PACKED when we went. -The dress is code is business casual, you can get away with jeans and a nice top. This place was amazing! The vibe was really amazing inside with great music and nice decor. They did a pretty good job with separating the tables for COVID and all the staff were wearing masks. We had a reservation so we were seated right away and the service was amazing. They started us off with cheesy popovers which were amazing and we ordered the smoked salmon dip as an appetizer, which was also amazing. I ordered the steak frites, and the steak was tender and the fries were perfectly crispy. I just wanted to say that we were so excited to have our first dinner at your restaurant and called for a reservation this evening requesting a table. We arrived and was seated promptly but soon became aware that it was not a good seat for us as I explained to the host that I have shingles and the table we were sat at was directly in front of the door and the cold air was bothering me. There were four to five other tables that were empty and no one was waiting to be seated so we asked if we could sit at the table back toward the booths. The hostess said well we have reservations for those tables and I said but their all empty and since our table will be available for someone could we please sit there. She continued to say they were taken. Clearly to us they were not as they were empty and no one was waiting. She then said just a moment and walked away. Someone else came over and said please follow me. She walked us past all of the open tables and sat us at a booth. We clearly stated that we needed a table as my husband is claustrophobic and has a hard time sitting in a booth. We ended up leaving as we felt that we were not valued as a customer and there should have been no arguing back and forth. It's a shame as we are big steak eaters and was really looking forward to trying a new place. We ended up enjoying dinner at the Final Cut. UPDATE: The owner called us and in short basically made excuses for the way we were treated and never offered to even bring us back in to make it right. Don't think they'll be in business long. This place is indeed Killin it. I'm in from Manhattan visiting family and we came here because it was recommended by their friends. This place is an excellent steak house. Excellent drinks. The beacon appetizer ( which is a staple of a good steakhouse) was perfect. I had the ribeye medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Other people had the pork chop, unbelievable. French press coffee at the table was a perfect ending. The kitchen is open to the dining room and the head chef walks around and makes sure that everything is on par.
