Went here yesterday for a pedicure after my other salon was fully booked. The technician was friendly but managed to do a very rushed job and even scraped my big toe pretty rough with the callus remover. The massage was not good at all literally just lotion being rubbed on my feet and legs. Another woman came in who seemed like a regular and maybe she had an appointment and that's why she rushed with me. The only reason there is a second star is because she was generous in letting me stay in the massage chair after she finished so I could relax and continue reading my book while they dried. For $35 it was not worth it. I would not recommend. read more

I was in the area on a weekday afternoon and decided last minute to stop by to remove my gel manicure. It was conveniently located right on Second Street and I had some time to kill, so, why not?! I peeked in and asked whether they accept walk-ins. The staff said "yes" and I proceeded to get my gel manicure removed. It was $10 for the removal of the gel manicure with no additional service. There was a bit of a language barrier, because the staff did not fluently speak English, so some level of miscommunication was inevitable. However, the reason why this nail salon is only receiving 2 stars, is because of the lack of quality in service. The staff's demeanor was aloof and she did very minimal to answer my questions. They were very rough with my nails and unnecessarily scraped off multiple layers of my nail even after the coating of the gel manicure was removed. There were some where she peeled it out, which is known to be an inappropriate way of removing gel manicure. It left my nails damaged and thin. The lack of care is actually surprising, especially at a place like here, where I imagine there is a lot of traction due to its central location in the hustle and bustle of Long Beach Second Street. Parking can be difficult to find. I thankfully found street parking fairly quickly. However, particularly during peak hours and on weekends, it is likely that you will be looking for parking for a while before securing a spot. I just wish there was a large public parking structure on Second Street. Until/unless that becomes a reality, we are unfortunately stuck with street parking in narrow one-way streets. To leave it on a positive note, place is pretty chic, walls and floor in all white. read more

Worst pedicure. Ever. Went here for an impromptu pedicure with girlfriends and walked out more frustrated than anything. We paid for extra leg/foot massage time and it would have been better if I had done it myself. When I asked for more pressure, hot stones were brought out and immediately used on my feet - to which I flinched because it burned so badly. She could have just used a burning feather and it would have been the same sensation. Two days later and my polish is now peeling. For $50 + tip, I want to at least have my poor paws get some circulation back and have the polish lash at least 5 days. Just not worth it. Would absolutely not recommend this place. read more

I'm so frustrated with my nails. They're gel and they were done SO sloppy. They charged $60 for gel mani and gel pedi. They clearly did not care how poorly they were done! The women were VERY rude and don't pay attention to detail. I want to redo my nails but getting gel removed is a hassle and expensive! I was looking forward to having a nice manicure for the holidays and right now, I can't even stand to look at my nails! I had them done today: They are already chipping and uneven at the tips. The cuticles area has polish that is not consistent and you can even see where she used her nail to remove excess. I had gel polish on my hands that they didn't bother to remove. Scratch marks on my gel surface and the whole nail isn't even covered with polish. So disappointed. Waste of time, waste of money and DEFINITELY NOT RELAXING! Absolutely ridiculous and not acceptable.. basically TAKING money at this point. I think if I did gel on myself it would've came out better. I don't understand how this place is still open? I came here just to get my toes done and it was more than a horrible experience. I asked for a French tip and a half of my toe was covered in white. I explain to the lady that the lines were very thick and immediately she started talking about me to the other employees threw her hands up in the air and had somebody else help me in which I ended up just getting a full white toes. Then looking at them after they still look horrible. The massage I had to ask for and it only lasted around four minutes. The ladies there are super rude. Last week my husband and I went to Belmont Nails as a 'we're vaccinated finally we can feel safe' getting a pedicure treat. We were drop-ins, but asked if we could be taken care of then, or if we should come back. The woman at the desk told us they had availability at that time. As it turns out, she was also doing my pedicure. In between phone calls. In between other people coming into the salon. In between other manicurists speaking to her. She simply used a nail clipper to clip my nails, not bothering to file the rough edges, did a short massage, mainly to my leg - I had to ask her to massage my foot instead. I had asked for a white polish - turns out it was white as in house paint primer, rather than a pearl white. If she'd shown me the color to confirm before applying I'd never have accepted it. My husband was less than impressed with his service as well. read more

Everyone once in a while, my wife takes me to get a pedicure. I feel bad for the ladies who have to deal with my feet and I could only imagine what they are saying in their native languages. This was the second time we have been here. The plus is that we've never waited. However, I have to echo the other complaints as it seems that their only concern is to up sell. And they do it in a way where they don't disclose the extra costs. They will just ask, and if you say yes, you'll get charged extra. There doesn't seems to any consistency either since my wife and I ordered the same items, but got different treatments. Also, the women here don't seem to enjoy their jobs since the ladies we saw had pissed off looks during the entire time we were there and were not very friendly. This is my regular nail place and I love it! It deserves way more than a 3 star rating. It's clean, the price is good for the amount of time they massage you for. (I went to one place and I had to pay $5 extra to get the same amount of massage time as I did here) I have had acrylics done here, I have had mani and pedi. I constantly look for new places to go but always make my way back to Belmont Nails. Parking is bad, but it's second street in Long Beach, parking is always bad.
