I had heard good things about this place so I decided to try it for a pedicure. Haven't had one in awhile. Should have read reviews first. Now I know better not to try something with out looking into it first. Everything was going well until they asked if I wanted oil. She handed me the card with the 3 tiers of pedicures. I picked the second one up just to get a little extra feel good services ($35). Came with a massage and what not. Anyways, as the girl was massaging feet she was literally grinding my toe ligaments together over and over. With the first foot I dealt with it but the second foot I finally had to ask her not to do that. It hurt so bad! She did the same thing with my shins. Just grinding her fingers up and down my shin bone. It hurt so bad and I won't be surprised if it actually bruises. Once the pedicure was done something felt incomplete. Usually after a pedi your feet and toes feel so refreshed and light. But when I got to my car I realized she hadn't done anything to the corners of my toes. She didn't clip the sides off where all the dead skin usually lies. She didn't cut out the corner where in grown toe nails are prone to grow. She didn't clean out the gunk from under any toes. Granted I didn't have any. But still! I don't know maybe they charge extra for that? But isn't that usually the whole point of a pedicure? As far as this place goes. It's the worst pedicure I have ever had, I was left feeling aggravated and incomplete. I will not ever go here again. Way too expensive for half ass services. Still gave a small tip. In whole it costs me $40 for a pedi I could have done way better for my self in the comfort of my own home! I don't doubt anyone of those 1 star reviews! This place is horrible! read more

Still super solid! Went in yesterday for a fill. My curent set were a whole month old and still looked great! No lifting, no cracking, no funky yellow discoloration. The manicurist did an amazing job of not only filling in the cuticle area but filling in the transparent nail -bed portion that had grown out with white acrylic. They seriously look awesome. I had a friend visiting with me from out of town. She was slightly trepidatious at first since the place isn't as fancy as some other spots on 2nd. She had a pedicure and was beyond happy with the finished product. The ladies here really do take thier time and are very detail oriented. I went in for a mani pedi and am not very happy with what I left with. The chair wouldn't turn on, my nails are uneven and jagged, there is fuzz from the towel under some of the polish, and I had to ask my manicurist to pop a bubble from the top coat (she would have left it had I not said something!). This place is always slow when I go in, so I don't know why I always feel rushed out after they're done. As soon as my toes were done he slipped my shoes on and said good bye. i remember going here awhile back in between classes I got clear tips with some airbrush for only $35 bucks. did i mention they took off my old ones to start a new set? it was a lot of work and time for the guy who did it. service... i remember the guy that did my nails to be really gentle and nice. he made sure i liked my design and shape. overall, i was happy except i had to find out that the paint they used on my nails was cheap paint. the top coat they used turned out sticky as if it never dried. it was gross. sad because i left on vacation and i had these dirty looking nails because the stickiness was collecting dirt. so all that guys work and effort was lost because of the cheap paint. and my money was wasted. i suggest if you go, bring your own top coat. problem solve... still cheap service and beautiful nails. read more

Before walking in, I called and asked for availability for a mani & pedi for myself and a mani for my mom. The woman who helped me was nice however my nails look terrible. While doing my mani, she cut me really badly, my finger wouldn't stop bleeding. She tried cleaning it and disinfecting it multiple times because it wouldn't stop. I appreciate her cleaning it but she cut me for working so fast. I'm paying for the service, she wasn't doing me a favor. My hands were not painted correctly, she put my hands near a fan and the top coat did not try correctly, my nails have bumps and bubbles. So I just went back to this place today and my experience was a bit better. As always the staff was very friendly. My gel manicure was fully dry this time. Toes look amazing as always. But yet again my nails are uneven and all slightly differently shaped, which honestly probably only I can tell. Other than that everything was amazing! I wanted a specific color but it was totally different in the bottle so one of the nail techs tried mixing different base polishes to get the closest match possible and she did an a awesome job! As a treat for her birthday, I brought my disabled sister to get a manicure and pedicure at this salon. What I experienced was the rudest and most disrespectful service by a woman named Brenda. Brenda was extremely inpatient and kept pursing at me to tell my sister to "relax or she can't do her nails." I then explained to her that my sister is special-needs and she is also a deaf-mute, and therefore cannot understand Brenda when she's yelling at her to "just relax." After a while I wondered if Brenda was also deaf because she kept repeating herself. After about ten minutes of this, I told Brenda that if she did not want to do my sister's nails, she can get someone else to do them. But she persisted. Brenda never said she was sorry to me or my sister, and after she was done with the pedicure she retreated to the back of the salon. The women kept making exchanges in Vietnamese about the situation. There was no other attempt by the salon to rectify the issue other than Kathy verbally apologizing to me. No coupons, no discount on the bad service, nothing. Steps were also skipped, she did not even apply the hot towel to my sister's legs despite me paying full price for the "service," among other things. I have been to this salon a handful of times, I've gotten gift certificates here, I always bring somebody with me to get their nails done. I tip well. In other words, I was a loyal and good customer. Not anymore. You have no business accepting my money anymore. You should learn some manners and basic human decency when dealing with others, especially those who are special-needs and cannot defend themselves. read more

First one was when I was pregnant and getting a mani/pedi in spa chair and was kicked out of the chair cuz a boyfriend and girlfriend HAD to sit next to each other and moved to a regular chair even though they charged me the spa price. Well I complained about that one the spot... Decided to give second chance just now and went to pay and was charged $1 to use my card and additional $3 to even take off my old gel color. In the 4 years of doing gel manicures in various salons and cities I have never been charged to take off when paying for a gel manicure. I am outraged and pissed at the cost. I am not a reviewer and, in fact, this is my first one. So it must say something that I am writing this at all. I went in for a gel manicure ($26), and here I am 25 days later without a CHIP. Granted, my nails have grown out and it is time for another--but literally, not a chip in my nails. They look fantastic, I had a wonderful and long hand/arm massage at the end, and the women were friendly. My only complaint was that when I first came in they said they could take me, but I could see that everyone was working and if I waited it would be at least 30 minutes. I came back later. I went here several months ago for a gel manicure which was done by the Manager/Owner and it was a great experience. My neighbor really likes this salon so I gave it a try again. This time my experience was not so great. The manicurist and the gentleman doing my pedicure were not in sync. I didn't get a gel manicure and I got the impression that my service was going to be lack luster because I did not upgrade (pun intended).I paid and tipped very well. Once outside I noticed that the clear coat was half- ass, MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE. I went back in and was asked if I messed up my nails. Um...NO! you did a half- ass job on the clear coat. She fixed it by applying more clear coat. Later that evening due to the multiple layers of polish, one of my nails smudged, I tried to fix it but no luck. I went in the next day, only because I had an important meeting and had to present well. The same Manicurist reluctantly fixed my nail (after asking me at least 3 times if that was the right color). It wasn't busy so I sat by the fan for a good 5-7 mins. She then yelled at me. "YOUR NAIL IS DRY NOW". I understand that "this time" it was my fault but GEEZ. She also rubbed it in that I should have got the gel manicure. In addition, I noticed that the gentleman put acetone in the polish to thin it out. This may be why my polish rubbed off my big toe after wearing heels today. I will definitely be spending my $60 elsewhere read more

CINDY AND JACKIE ARE NO LONGER HERE. i have been a regular at nail art for two years now. i took a brief hiatus from acrylic nails and just returned to find this place has fallen apart. :( this used to be a great little place. the girls were friendly, prices were low, nails were great, and they were fast. cindy used to run the place and i guess kept everyone in line. now there is a new girl running it, don't know her name. jackie is gone on maternity leave, no clue when she is coming back. jackie used to be my go-to for my short, thin acrylics. i've been going to nancy now and she does a good job. she doesn't speak much english at all, but her nails are good. she takes her time... really takes her time about it but they look perfect when she's finally done. now the problems with this salon... well, let me sketch a picture for you. i'm sitting having nancy fill my nails last week with one girl behind me talking loudly on her cell phone, and two girls in front of me talking to each other over the loud tv. not exactly relaxing, not exactly good customer service. i'm sad this place has declined, it used to be my nail place every week. now i'll only use it until i can find a replacement... :( read more

This place is right next door to a SuperMex, at the very beginning of 2nd street in Belmont Shore. I've tried several nail shops and this one's the best! The standout point for Nail Art is the FOOT MASSAGE! I usually go in for pedicures and there's a short 5 min wait. The ladies are all Vietnamese, and they're all very good. This place doesn't have the massage chairs like other fancier nail places, but it doesn't matter because those massage chairs don't really massage you anyway. This place has black office style pseudo-leather chairs you sit in. They use the hot water baths for your nails as well. The best thing about this place is the length and quality of the FOOT MASSAGES!! The massages are strong and put enough pressure on the calf/foot, and the different nerve endings on the foot. It's really really good. And it lasts for about 15-20 min! Then they start your pedicure and the total cost is $15 for the pedicure and foot massage. The prices are fair, especially since they take their time cleaning out the cuticle and cutting away the dead skin. This place is excellent. Call ahead if you're gonna go on the weekend. They have their fair share of loyal customers. read more

I have been up and down second street trying different salons, and FINALLY I have found my place. It is clean, serene, and the chairs have a BUTT MASSAGE!! Lisa does, my toes, she is sweet and thorough, tip her well Cindy, does a WONDERFUL Gel French tip, tip her well :) I didn't like it when "the Guy" did my nails, though. He rushed and cut my nails too short. I showed him how I wanted them shaped, by showing him my nails, and saying, " JUST LIKE THIS", he shaped then different on the first hand then I brought it to his attention, again, with my other hand, JUST LIKE THIS". So my left hand was rounded and my left hand was squared off.... Oh Geezz! I asked for a file, and filed them myself, to my satisfaction. He did a nice job on the Gel, though. My first time here a nice gentleman did my pedicure and it was seriously lovely. The next time I went in, he wasn't around so I just went with whoever was available. My technician was rude from the second she saw me. There was already a disposable liner in the tub and I asked if it was new (which is a valid question, because they are made to be thrown out. Why is this one in here & wet looking?). She snaps at me saying she was just testing the water temp and its new. Ok. When I sit down she puts on a mask and immediately starts trying to up sell me. Now I'm no salesman but I know the customer should at least be able to hear what you are pitching. I'm constantly asking "could you repeat that please?" and by the third time she yells "UPGRADE YOUR PEDICURE, YOUR FEET WILL LOOK UGLY IN SANDALS WITHOUT THE CALLUS SCRUB." That was really professional. So after I repeatedly turned her upgrades down she got the hint and huffed and puffed through the rest of the pedicure. It was probably the worst one I've ever gotten too. Air bubbles, thick and thin paint on different toes, and paint just all in my cuticles. The icing on the cake was she yelled at me on my way out about not tipping. I'm sure she wouldn't tip someone for a bad pedicure with a side of embarrassment and berating so I didn't either. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've lived in Long Beach/Belmont Shore for a really long time now, and this is the only place I trust to get my nails right, and I leave happy every time. All the women in this nail shop are super nice, and funny. You always have a good time with them, and they really know how to take care of their customers. I tried the gel color for the first time this past weekend, and I have to say it's AMAZING! I got a manicure by Cindy, and she is awesome.
